  1. i have met a few police officers from different departments in tn that have switched to 357 sig. Their reasoning is that it penetrates more (not sure why you would want that) and it kicks less. I personally wanted a .357 sig glock that was compensated, but i figured i should get a 9mm before.
  2. so did S&W pay for shipping? I can't stand companies that make you pay to ship in a gun to get it fixed.
  3. not that i'm saying its right, but msrp is $690 on that gun... of course i normally see them around $500. I wouldn't step foot in a store like that either. For some reason my local glock le dealer sells them for $450 (even though they are supposed to cost $400 for LE) so i decided from now on I will go to the next nearest LE dealer (gun & leather) to do my shopping based on principle.

my glock 22 is gen 3 and my glock 27 is gen 4. I definitely like the gen 4 (or rtf2) better due to the grips. You can always buy wraps for the gen 3s though.
  5. great gun. I opted for my sig p220 stainless elite, but having 12 rounds and a threaded barrel would be nice. Is it the civilian model or did you manage to pick up a govt model? (you can tell by the markings on the gun) Pics needed!
  6. for the ar platform i recommend Aimpoint, the batteries last forever. I can leave mine on for 3 years straight without worrying (the $400 Aimpoint P.R.O.) not to mention the warranty and i've never heard of problems about aimpoints unlike eotech... (all my military and department friends use eotech, most not by choice)
  7. Hey guys I'm looking for a good scope for a .308 rifle. The rifle is a Sig Sauer SIG716 Precision Marksman. I was wanting a scope to go out to about 500+ yards and I was thinking of a Burris Black Diamond 6-24x (that way i can get it from bud's police supply for a $100 discount off normal prices). I don't know much about scopes so I was hoping you guys could help me out. Is a variable zoom the way to go or should i get one that's fixed. Should i go bigger like 8-32x? Is that scope the way to go? and what else would i need to mount it. Sorry for all the noob questions but I'm used to eotechs and aimpoints. Thanks, John
  8. If your LEO, you can always go straight through storm-lake and get a discount. They are made in TN!!!!
  9. Try guns and leather or Uselton Arms. Both stores have amazing gunsmiths. Also, you may want to put a few more rounds through your gun before you get the ramp buffed. i recommend shooting 230 grain to break the gun in and most manufacturers recommend atleast 500 rounds if not 2000 rounds before you consider it broken-in.
  10. Sounds like a great deal! I love Sigs!
  11. I never thought I would be a glock guy. I loved my Sig, hated my Para Ordnance. But after getting a Glock 22 as my duty pistol it grew on me. They are cheap but great performing guns. They are reliable. I now own a gen 4 glock 27... yeah, i love them both! Did i mention there are some many things you can do to them not to mention storm-lake barrels, trigger jobs, solder grips, etc... Get one!
  12. I would have searched you and disarmed you if you wanted a ride. Depending on the person i might put them in cuffs for my own safety... Each department is different but it comes back to what the officer was trained in, and if he was new and it was a small town, then he might not have been trained properly or his department doesn't care... If you say something to the chief then your town WILL get a new policy and you may not be allowed to ride in the car at all next time. I would just call the department and give a letter of commendation to the officer for driving you down the road and for stopping in the first place and leave the gun out of it.
  13. After reading posts here for the last month I finally decided to register! I have a collection of guns but next I'm looking for a longer rifle (.308 and 24" SS) and also a SBR (11.5" 5.56) that I will hopefully decide on and buy sometime this year. But I have been browsing this site to see what other people have done to get suppressors and SBRs. Great site!
