No offense Av88tor, but my front door is not built as flimsy. That safe looks like a cheap $400 safe from walmart. The front door of my Patriot weighs over 300lbs by itself and is very thick. Not only that, but my lock is completely different. No, I haven't ripped of the carpet to check the internals of the door, but I am pretty sure it's SOLID. I also don't think the kids that normally break into houses(trust me on this one since i happen to have a professional insight on Burglars) are going to know where to drill on my safe if there is one drill point which I DOUBT. Final thoughts: any safe can be broken into with the right knowledge. This safe is as safe as they come. Deterrent #1: Pure weight and size Deterrent #2: Bolted into ground Deterrent #3: No tools around to help the burglar Deterrent #4: My dog Deterrent #5: My cop car parked outside Deterrent #6: My Sig 220 that I keep hidden by my bed with tac light and loaded with Federal Hydra-shoks.

Yes, I haven't had the problem with the velcro yet, but i am loving the safe. It looks wonderful and performs great. It definitely holds EVERYTHING. atleast for now it does! Have you found a way to get a Gun Dehumidifier Rod installed? I am thinking of putting an 18" rod in the lower part in addition to my evadry dehumidifier.

with the barrel gauge in mind I think I will wait till someone else tries it. Or until someone makes new barrels for this rifle. Thanks for the input guys. -
SBR the H&K MP5 A5
alwaysonjohn replied to alwaysonjohn's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Thanks for the reply VolDaddy. That is specifically why I didn't go with the GSG. I heard of people breaking them the first day they got it by slapping it forward in H&K style. This Umarex is supposed to be built with aluminum so it should withstand the abuse of "normal" shooters. -
With the price of the mp5 "clones" going up and up and up I have decided to get a .22 mp5 Clone. My question is if anyone has cut down the H&K MP5 A5 aka Umarex MP5A5. The one I was looking at has a fake three lug flash hider with a fake suppressor that hides the 16" barrell that you can remove but it looks like you can throw away the fake suppressor and cut after the fake flash hider and thread for a real suppressor which would sbr the gun and still look fantastic. Anybody own one of these and has thoughts on this? Does the gunshops normally cut down .22 caliber rifles and do threading? Also if you guys want to post potential problems doing this since I eventually want to get an AAC Element. I don't want to go the gsg route since the gun is mainly plastic and I feel like i would break it.

Honestly it probably is made in China. Merlo claims it is made in USA but it ships from the warehouse in California (which is not a factory) and it happens to ship from the only address on file for the company... I personally don't care where it is made since I care about price, quality, and function over anything else. The American made safes are selling for nearly twice the price which is more than what I am willing to pay for something made here in the USA. The quality of the Patriot Safe is great overall, but there are a few annoyances (the outline of the inside panel is glued together and looks terrible). I will have to take pictures of the only quality concern I found. I love this safe btw. If you look the panel is glued on and overlaps a little bit with non-painted corners... This is the only quality concern I found and it is on the inside of the door.

My 2012 Model Patriot SafeCollector 39 Gun 2 Hour Safe arrived last week so I am sharing my experience here. It cost a little over $2,000 with current promotions. It shipped the day after I paid, and it took a week to ship from California to Tennessee. Pros: Large, price is cheap compared to competition, 2HR fire rating, looks great with the black glossy finish, interior blue ambient lighting that turns on when the door is open, electronic lock, exterior paint is glossy and super easy to clean using windex Cons: Cheap Construction of inside panel and trays, no instructions/documentation, door storage is velcro attached and will weaken with time (but you can just sew it straight on if that happens). Shipping: I choose free curb delivery. The delivery guy was nice and used a pallet jack to get it to my rear door (even though he didn't have to). He told me I should invite the swat team over for training to get this safe in my house! I ended up using two pvc pipes to get it into my house by myself without any problems. Incluldes: door storage, two sets of keys, external power backup (powered by four AA batteries) for using the digital lock, external power brick for lighting, extra interior cord, concrete plug and screws to attach it to the ground, pistol rack (if you ask for it they will include the pistol rack as well. Overall I am completely satisfied. The safe weighs around 840lbs according to the shipper invoice. The pictures show the safe relatively empty since some of my guns are currently being worked on and I haven't moved the majority in the safe yet. The digital lock accepts two passcodes and you can easily reset them pressing a button once the safe is open. You can also set the time/date on the safe (but it goes year, month, day). If you have any questions post below.

I have always been against revolvers but the Ruger Super Redhawk .44Mag Alaskan 2.5" caught my eye. I was just wanting something for going on trails or camping in the BACKWOODS of east TN or Alaska. Anyways I was looking for advise on this gun or a similar gun (small and .44mag) and what holsters I should be looking at. I want an iwb or something to cover it for inside a backpack. Thanks guys, John

i would get the glock 22 gen4 or rtf2. Its the perfect size for me and even the glock 27 isn't too great to conceal compared to a sig p238 so you might as well get a full sized glock, but not ridiculously long (like the glock 35 gen4). Just my 2 cents. did i mention that most LEOs carry this model... there has to be a reason behind that right?

Source for 7.62x39 tracers?
alwaysonjohn replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I think tracers are fun (I have some orange tip .308 tracer rounds and 223 in red), but keep some water and a 4 wheeler handy since I have had close calls with them hitting trees at 100 yards and trying to catch things on fire. -
For the fixed one I seen it's their medium profile mount. For "absolute co-witness". as for other ones in the same price range i really don't know. I own an Aimpoint PRO myself (with co-witness), but I plan on looking at Eotech and Aimpoint micro t-1 in the future.

Q: What about the front sight (referring to the 6920) A: If you get quad rails and you want to use flip-up sights instead of the stock front sight then you can have someone like adco file down the front sight so it becomes a low profile gas block and will fit under any quad rail. Most shops charge $40 to do this and you can do it yourself using guides on the internet if you really want to be cheap. Or you could buy a new low profile gas block, but the stock sanded down should work fine and some folks claim it works better than any aftermarket low profile gas block!

http://www.ghostinc....oninstructions/ If you do the install yourself make sure to use an orange plate on the slide, otherwise you won't be able to get your slide off when you start messing with it!

try gtdist.com. They will ship to any FFL. I believe there is only one active TN LEO Dealer and its in Memphis (Accurate Law Enforcement). You can always call them 901-774-9595. Try to shop around first since most of the time you can find it locally for around the same price.

1.0 is the original made for screw-on comp. The 1.5 is the one made to be pinned (so you can't remove it a pin goes into a slot then it gets welded on) to allow an OAL over 16" for 14.5" barrel builds. The 2.0 is shorter but is compatible with the few suppressors that attach on flash hiders (I think gemtech halo is one). the 1.0 and 1.5 will work better since they are larger. I recommend the 1.0 if your barrel is over 16" and a pinned 1.5 for anything under (unless it's a registered sbr then get the 1.0). If you want a suppressor down the line there are better products that will attach a suppressor better that a normal flash hider such as the AAC Blackout 51T Flash Hider or the AAC Blackout 51T Muzzle Brake.

Noveske has 20" 1in8 twist. The price is ridiculous though $458... but with Noveske you get what you pay for.

as others have said, doing the $.25 trigger job helps the rocket even more! I got my kit off ebay but I am sure you can find it anywhere http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ghost-3-5-trigger-Connector-Springs-Glock-17-19-22-23-24-26-27-28-29-30-31-32-/270904169529?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f13259439

I have a pinned battlecomp 1.5 on my BCM EAG TAC Upper. It definitely works but those shooting beside you will hate you due to the gas redirection. It's the best comp currently available imho.

I believe the original poster stated he has the p220... idk where the px4 came from? the only choice i saw for the p220 was directly from Hogue for the g10 extremes (great grips). I have planned on getting new grips because the stock wood grips on the p220 se are too fat! Just be prepared to spend $120. You can always try to find them off ebay! They have different styles and you need to choose the right type (3 types of p220 exist, decocking lever, no lever, etc). Here is one of the more popular styles for da/sa with decocking lever. http://www.hoguestor...roducts_id=7076 Afterthought... I purchased the Piranha in Black/gray for my 220 SE so If you wait I'm sure i'll post pics when everything comes in next week!

If you can youtube some glock teardown videos then installing the ghost rocket is really easy. You just need a small punch to take apart the glock and for the firing pin there are tricks to take that apart. It took me 10 minutes but I knew how to fully disassemble the glock.

I just installed the Ghost Rocket Ultimate kit on my Gen4 Glock 27 which includes the connector along with some springs. I must say for $25 i am completely impressed. I went from a rather new and tough trigger pull to a lighter and smoother trigger pull. Anyone else have any experience with the ghost rocket kit or other upgrades? My other upgrades in the worth it pile are my Hogue Handalls wrap-ons and Truglo TFO sights.

you are looking at quite a bit in money from that pic. my gun is almost the same (search for bcm love) Looks like: Magpul UBR Stock Magpul Miad Grip Midlength Upper 9" Quad Rail (i recommend a 12" Daniel Defense Lite so it fits over the gas block) AAC 51T Flash Hider (unneeded unless you want to go to a suppressor TangoDown Stubby Vertical Grip Magpul XTM Rail Panels Other ideas for you: 7075-t6 Aluminum mid-length upper and same spec lower (search for a Mega upper/Lower) You will have to get some parts kit (Go for Colt, Daniel Defense, etc) Magpul Flip-up BUIS (or a real flip-up iron sight such as troy) Geissele Super 3 Gun Trigger Adco Fluted Barrel (really for looks) TangoDown Scar Panels Atlas Bipod Mine is complicated...

i wouldn't touch it... I hated the sigma and I felt bad for the LEO that had to carry it. The M&P line is pretty nice, reliable, and reasonably price.

Don't paint it, you should be able to find one that is already done for you... such as... VZ Recons Just be prepared to wait to get them... all good things take a while to be made and ship (such as the crossbreed supertuck!)
