I would sell it, and let her get mad(er). that's a nice profit margin and I would take advantage while you can. The UPS Store will not ship firearms. Its their store policy. Like i said, my local ups store will pack it and last time they charged me around $8 which is cheap since you normally have to buy rifle boxes online in bulk just to get them otherwise. http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/guidelines/firearms.html

i've got my buddies that like to remind me how far off I am and in what direction. lol.

if you are going for an optic, why not get something made for long range. I'm saving for either the http://www.laruetactical.com/nightforce-35-15x50-mlr-hs-zs-01-mil-rad-and-lt104-30-qd-scope-mount or the http://www.laruetactical.com/nightforce-55-22x50-npr-1-w-moa-hs-zs-and-lt104-30 the quick detach will allow me to switch between my two 700s. if you get the npr-1 then a 20moa rail would make it even sweeter. as for laser range finders, isn't that what a spotter is for? Plus most ranges will tell you how far out you are. Just my two cents.

the ups store will not ship it (They won't ship any firearms), but normally they will box it in a rifle box. That way it will be safe and last time I got charged $8 to box it with peanuts and a rifle box. From there you will have to drive to a fedex, USPS, or UPS hub which should cost around $20 more to actually ship it. Good luck.

I use hydra-shok for self defense 230grain... and for practice any cheap 230 grain (though I try to stay away from tulammo since my sig 220 magazines does not like them.

With the average NFA trust costing $450 it wouldn't be worth it to go the "diy" route. Most Quicken trusts posts are years old and I haven't heard anyone going that route in the last year. Not too mention the rumors that they have been getting revoked months after approval.

save up and get a decent 700 with a heavy aka varmint barrel. I would get a cheap scope (redfield or bsa tactical) until you get a better stock. I have one .308, building an expensive second with a custom action, and I plan on getting a takedown .308 in the future... .308 is a great round and is easy to find ammo for.

thanks. the new one shipped so pics of the new one will be up Friday hopefully.

threading a remington 700 barrel
alwaysonjohn replied to hlb14's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
great choice in getting a 700. They are the "ford mustang" of the precision world. The questions you should be asking yourself (Your gunsmith should be able to help you think about this too) 1. Would it be a better idea to just go ahead and get it rebarreled with a $355 Lilja 3-button 1-10 barrel and get that threaded and fluted? $355 parts and $240+ gunsmith fee? OR 2. Should you get it cut down and threaded? $175 gunsmith fee? For my custom 308 being built I am deciding between a 20" or 24" 1-10... decisions! After that, get a Jewell trigger ($225) and you should be set besides deciding if you are going with an AAC 90T Muzzle Brake (still hasn't been released yet but its for attaching the new 90T AAC Suppressor) or a Surefire Muzzle Brake (for attaching a Surefire suppressor). ALSO, if you haven't bought the 700 yet, why not spend a ridiculous amount of money and get a custom one built? My new one will cost around 3K without optics... -
i would rather get a new 226 if you plan on using it. I would hate to see you "refinish" a classic gun. The 226 is a wonderful gun whichever one you get.

wow. I may buy one of those holsters for when I go to court. My sig 220 has been my off-duty court gun. does it have a belt loop on both sides or just the left side? Do you have better pictures that what they have on their site?

Let us know how it goes (with pictures). Also, the title for this thread makes you not want to click on it. I suggest giving your threads better titles to help people in the future, such as bullpup 22. I too was thinking of a bullpup design for a 22 after watching that dadgum sons of guns zombie episode. shamefully i still watch it. I'm not foolish enough to send my money to red jacket but i found someone else making the stocks. http://www.hightowerarmory.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=HTA9022BLK As for other stocks, I haven't been a fan of their designs. It just looks to ugly and unfinished like a big block of plastic. These new designs truly look like a bullpup imho.

thanks guys. I took the plunge and got a protech. http://www.bladehq.com/item--Protech-Blue-Jazz--1924

only Chattanooga i believe. But i'm sure you already know that since you're from Chattanooga.

yeah, i tried eva-dry but honestly i don't think it works that well. DampRid can pull a ton of moisture out of the air. I use a heating rod for the safe.

Looking for good/inexpensive flip up AR sights
alwaysonjohn replied to BryanP's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
i recommend troy micro battle sights. Its going to be $200 for a set so idk if thats too high for your budget. -
the tr-2 fits perfectly. I just wish it was s30v steel. That looks like a really nice one and I like the different styles available on the internet.

I wanted something to carry on duty and a Gerber caught my eye. G10 handles and s30v steel. http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/GB30000380/Gerber-06-AUTO-38-inch-S30V-Combo-Tanto-Blade-G10-Handles I was wondering if you guys had any advice on something nicer or if you had any experience with this knife. I really want something more towards a 3" blade though so its easier to carry.

thanks to this thread I am now torn between getting a STI Shadow .40 or a Springfield EMP .40...

I hope you don't actually think trespassing someone's land while being armed and shooting at things is a good idea... Where do you live again?
