  1. I second the Taurus Judge. and for this reason, use the .410 shotshells, and replace the shot in the cartridge with rock salt. VERY effective. i have used this in a single shot shotgun and it flat out works. might try alternating with .45 if you think you might need it. i would suggest a 12ga. or maybe a 20ga. but i dont know of a handgun in either .
  2. im 90% sure they have .38spl. shotshells EDIT: make that 100%. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=757831
  3. does anybody know what this finish is actually called or how/where to get it? just says its stainless steel with a matte black finish. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=65452&langId=-1&isFirearm=Y
  4. BAAAADDD move IMO to redesign the internals for that one pistol
  5. do you mind explaining this a bit? i was planning on taking my HCP class there...
  6. sling, no problem, didnt mean to call you out or make a big deal about it. didnt even think about it until after musicman said something about other religions. opinions are what a public forum is all about, i think there's an amendment somewhere that gives us freedom of speech(and in this case, typing)
  7. hmmm, ive heard that kimbers are like the jaguar of the 1911 world, when they are running right, they are a dream. when they dont, thye will drive you crazy.
  8. i voted suppressor but if your gonna get a SBS, go ahead and get the serbu shorty, go all the way!
  9. i was sensing a little bit of sarcasm from urse, but if not the umm, wow...
  10. funny. ive heard that before except it didnt have "brokeback mountain" in it. just "... any of that crap in our garden."
  11. i have heard that the 1911 was designed by John Moses Browning to be loaded with 230gr. FMJ .45ACP only. all others may or may not have problems feeding or functioning otherwise. but i thought that was only on the original design and that the newer ones solved that problem with polished feed ramps, etc. every gun manual i have ever read says that your warranty is voided if you shoot reloads in it. i suspect the reason for that is that they cant verify that you havent/dont/wont load them too hot for the gun. takes the liability off of them.
  12. pm me if you want a link to more pics that dont belong on TGO. its on photobucket so nothing illegal or pornographic.
  13. what does this have to do with 1911s? badazz concept none the less
  14. there are MANY threads on here already, search and you will find anything and everything you could want to know about them, including range reports
  15. does anybody know if you can fire .22short and .22long as well as the reccommended .22LR out of the ruger 77/22 bolt action rifle? i dont see why you couldnt as long as you load each one separately as a single shot, since i highly doubt that they would feed from the rotary magazine.
  16. GOD is Busy If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!! A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan .. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, 'God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am God. I'm still waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-c ocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What the heck is the matter with you? Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly replied, 'God was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So, He sent me.' saw this on another forum, i got a kick out of it.
  17. you mean you'd pistol-whip them right? gotta get it right:p
  18. where do i sign up to get to play doctor for a day ?
  19. ive read that before and is downright hilarious!!! my dad told this story of 3 big 'ole boys( 'bout 300-350lbs each all muscle) were in a fishing boat and saw a deer swimming in the lake. they decided they were going to go and slit its throat with a bowie knife and have a deer. when they tried to get the deer in the boat to cut it, it ran all 3 of them out of that boat real quick lol
  20. i must have missed that "expression" i, also, dont see the point in porting a j-frame, they had to move the front sight back to allow for the ports. i can see it on a 6" .44mag revolver maybe or even the 8 3/8" .500mag but not a .38spl. jframe
  21. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=11101&storeId=10001&categoryId=15702&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=15701&top_category=15701 anybody have one? or even seen one in person? available in 642 and 637 configuration
