  1. i see no problem with us being able to delete our own posts or even delete our own threads that we started. not trying to compare or say i can do it there, why not here? but on another forum i am on, performancetrucks.net, it is also vbulletin based and members have the ability to edit their own posts, delete their own posts, and delete their own threads unless it was posted in the classifieds subforum. we have no problems with that set of rules and it has a MUCH larger member count than TGO. they do not have the ability to lock threads though, only an administrator or moderator can do that.
  2. do you spend every spare moment of your time doing it? I'm 19 and I have to say I am embarassed of my generation and my peers. Most dont have a clue about what is going on around them, much less in the rest of the world or even national news. Sure i play video games and surf the internet too, but i dont spend every second of my time doing it. I, too grew up with my mom taking me and my sister to the library at least once a week, and I am soooo glad she did. Reading is the basis for learning in general.
  3. therefore a hypocryte and condemed to hell. the 1911 in the original configuration ( 5" barrel/slide, .45ACP, fullsize frame) would be the natural choice. might also consider a 1911 in same configuration but chambered in 10mm or .50GI or .45 Super. its gonna be a 1911 no doubt. no other firearm can do what it does.
  4. kinda. but not really. itd be like taking a rs and putting a LS1 in it and leaving the rs badges on it. starts out without much oooomph, but when you get done, its considerably better than it was. as far as i know there was no RS/SS. as in a rs appearance with the SS performance. only sporty body w/ v6 or base body w/ v8
  5. just a pet peeve i have, just like i wouldnt put super sport badges on a base model camaro. it will never be swapped back to 5.56mm so might as well get a engraved dedicated lower.
  6. i dont want either one of those, just a standard lower( good to high quality) engraved with .458socom instead of 5.56mm. i know i CAN use a standard lower but want a dedicated engraved lower. im not one of these people that have 16 lowers and 22 uppers and swap them out back and forth when they get bored
  7. if he did carry it would be nothing less than a 1911
  8. there's obviously 59 states if he has been to 57 of them and his staff wouldnt let him go to alaska or hawaii
  9. can you get a lower that is engraved in a different caliber than 5.56mm? for example, .458SOCOM? or do you just have to use a standard 5.56mm lower?
  10. i personally dont think he will make it through the first term. not trying to imply anything, but dont see some certain southern rac.. i mean extremists letting it fly. we dont have a good candidate this time, its just the lesser of two evils
  11. if you want to go even further, im sure they make a magazine tube extension, i know they do for the 870. and then there's the sidewinder kit....
  12. im not into the ballistics but the lighter weight bullet will have more muzzle velocity. federal (and maybe others?) makes a 165gr. bullet also. the 1911 was designed for the 230gr. FMJ cartridge, in some 1911s some other cartridges(lighter weight bullets or JHP bullets) dont feed well or cycle properly for plinking, id get what ever is cheapest, usually its 230gr. FMJ, in my experience. for self-defense, def. JHP but other than the difference in muzzle velocity, there shouldnt be much difference. with more muzzle velocity, the smaller bullet might penetrate more but not much
  13. what kind of difference are you looking for? a 185 grain will be a smaller bullet than the 230grain will be. my memory tells me that 230 grain is normally the FMJ with a few manufacturers making JHPs and the 185 grain is normally JHP with a few manufacturers making FMJs. the lighter weight bullet will have more muzzle velocity though
  14. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sawed-off_shotgun see 4th paragraph under legal issues. can anybody confirm this? is wikipedia accurate?
  15. im pretty sure its 18" for the total barrel length, i just need to know what the minimum overall length limit is. i am correct in assuming that both the barrel length requirement AND the overall length requirement must be met, right? or is it just one or the other?
  16. are you referring to overall length or barrel length?
  17. what is the shortest overall length allowed for a shotgun WITHOUT it being classified as an AOW or SBS? i know its 18" barrel but what is the over all length limitation?
