  1. I'd throw the Ruger SR9c in the mix as well. I chose it over the S&W M&P 9 compact because it felt better in my hands to me, but it was a very close call. The Glock 19 is also a nice pistol, and I may buy one someday, but it won't be because I love the way it feels in my hands. I know you can get a new SR9c for less than the Glock, and you can probably get the S&W M&P 9 compact for less too.
  2. You're welcome, glad I could help.
  3. Stick with standard velocity ammo in the HP22. The frame is very thin in some places and they are known to have frame cracking problems if you use excessive amounts of high velocity ammo in them. For the money (a little over $100), they are a great value and also pretty accurate for their size. If you do want to put a red dot on it check these out. http://www.bryco-jennings-jimenezarms.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7860&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 http://www.bryco-jennings-jimenezarms.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5210
  4. I agree! I just haven't found the time ($$) to get my 19 yet.
  5. Go with the LCP. It's a great little pistol. Ruger took the original idea and made it much better....something they are known for doing.

    M60 or LCR

I agree with the above statement, and I will add that the model 60 will likely be a more enjoyable shooter because of the additional weight. I have a 60, but do not have an LCR....might get an LCR-22 someday though.

    why a Glock?

I think by now you should have the information that you need to answer your question. Glock makes a great pistol that is fairly priced, is inexpensive to maintain or modify and accessories are generally inexpensive. There are lots of other great pistols out there too, and I have many of the others (Ruger, S&W, Kahr, Walther, etc.). The Glock is still not my favorite, but it is a good choice for many people, and I would recommend it along with the others that I have.
  8. I have a stainless single-six with custom grips, and I really like it, but from the time Ruger announced the single-ten, I have wanted one. Congrats on your new purchase. I am sure you will love it!
  9. Glock 23 for all the reasons mentioned above, but Glock 19 is right up there if you want to stick with 9mm and not incur the additional expense of conversion barrels. I have a Glock 23 gen 4, but will probably add a 19 gen 4 at some point in the future.
  10. I love my boring, antiquated & stupid revolvers...but that's probably because I am boring, antiquated, but not stupid.
  11. I'll take 'em! Where do I pick them up?

    Ruger SR9C

I love mine too, and it has also taken everything I've fed it without a single hiccup....steel case Wolf, factory reloads, UMC, etc. It is a very accurate and fun pistol to shoot.
  13. I say just change the answer and choose both.

    They do exist

:stunned: Impossible....but congrats on the new pistol. I will have one someday.
  15. Here is a link from the ElsiePeaforum that starts out talking about painted sights, but then gets into painting techniques by one of the forum members, RichGCoop. He included a couple of Youtube videos that he did and has some pictures of his "enhanced" LCPs. http://elsiepeaforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=20180.0
  16. I'm another that really likes blazer .22 ammo...cci without the cci price.
  17. Congrats on your new pistol. I would dare to say that most of us like Glocks a lot (actually I've just warmed up to them recently because of the grip size, but I've overcome that issue and appreciate everything else about them), and would agree that they are great pistols. However, the 1911 is such a classic that many of us just automatically think of a 1911 when it comes to a first .45 pistol. Congrats again on your new pistol...I'm sure you will love it!
  18. I believe it was Forrest Gump that said, "stupid is as stupid does."
  19. Yeah, if you don't have a .45 already, then a 1911 would be my recommendation. I realize that you would be looking at a lower end 1911 at the Glock 21 price point, but you could still get a nice pistol. Glock makes a good gun though, so to each his own....congrats on the new pistol whatever you decide.
  20. I agree with the above posters. Mason at Classic Arms can take care of most of your gunsmithing needs.
  21. I definitely do watch a lot of his stuff. Sometimes his videos are a little too long, but I keep coming back, so he's doing something right.
  22. I have a gen 4 Glock 23 and have put 150 rounds through it without a hiccup. I bought this after I shot my friends gen 3 Glock 22. I had always been leary of Glocks because I have small hands and didn't like the grips, but after I shot my friends Glock 22, I had to add a Glock to my collection and went with the slightly smaller framed Glock 23 since I figured that the double springs would make up for the smaller pistol frame size. And that's what I'd say my experience has been with my gen 4 model 23. The recoil is no worse than my friends model 22, and may even be sightly less. I really enjoy shooting it.
  23. I really like the PPS. I have several Walthers (PPK/s, PK380 and a P1), but haven't got a PPS yet. I keep finding other pistols that I want, but the PPS is still on my list, just have to find a good deal at the right time. Congrats on your new pistol!
  24. This is definitely an interesting looking pistol. I haven't seen one around here yet, but now I'm looking forward to be able to check one out. I'll have to ask my LGS if they plan on carrying them.

    Bersa 22

I have been considering one of these for quite a while....but the new Ruger SR22 has got my eye now. I'm sure I'll add one of these Bersas to my .22LR collection someday though.
