  1. It doesn't really matter when you pay... either you buy the gun or you don't. If a person can't pass the TBI check, the shop can't just keep their money. I have seen a few occassions where the gun shop required that the $10 bg check fee be paid up-front.

    Opinions?

Defenseless or not, Iran will make N. Iraq look like a walk in the park.
  3. I can field-strip and re-assemble a Sig, Beretta or XD with one hand pretty easily.
  4. For those 'close encounters' while hunting waterfowl...
  5. Based on the sheer number in circulation, I'd tend to agree... but a few others which might make the list are: -Commander & Officer 1911 and -Glock 26/19
  6. My house is built into the side of a hill, it needs all the help it can get during nearly any rain... and winter is coming...
  7. I will be in for just one hat, most likely (unless I get a few to give away)... but I'll certainly be in for a few polos.
  8. Neither, drainange. But, I'm sure there are folks with more experience with this sort of thing than me...
  9. I once voted for Alan Keys...
  10. I couldn't get away with acting less than professional/responsible, and maintain my job or my carry permit... And I don't stand for it from anyone else.
  11. Pick it out, fill out a form 4473, show ID, get printed, wait 10-15min for TBI to call back, pay for the purchase and $10 bg check, and leave to go enjoy your new gun... If you already know what you want, most times you can be in & out in 30min or so. Also, you might need to show TN ID or proof of residence...?
  12. Awesome! I wish I had more time to do things like this... how'd you do?
  13. Yeah, that's what I've been seeing too... I wonder if the P220 Compact fits in the same holsters as the old P245?
  14. That sure would make it easier to buy one...
  15. Who do we get next month? ...I may need some help digging a trench in my back-yard in a few weeks...
  16. I fired a mag-worth myself... hmmm, knee-pads? The P229/228 frame doesn't feel quite right in my hand (which was why I got a P239)... I'm leaning more towards a P220. I am probably not going to consider any DA/SA pistols in the near future. Joe has been very generous to me in all of our dealings... that is why I want to make the ammo right.
  17. I think it's equally depressing that not all of the above-average people do vote.
  18. It exists... it just hasn't been fought for by 'the people' recently to claim and exercise it.
  19. I do need to settle up with Joe over some ammo that an aquaintance of mine burned through without paying, after I vouched for him... (he has since bought some stuff, including a gun, from Joe... at least)
  20. Hey now Don't send anybody to break my legs yet... (as I recall, Tungsten pm'ed me about getting a P2000 first)
  21. I understand that reasoning/mentality, though I do not agree with its principle. Because, by that reasoning, noone should ever hold a LEO accountable for their actions if they ever want to receive quality service from them. LEOs are people too, regular civilians with a high-risk job dealing with troublemakers and screw-ups... But that doesn't mean that they have earned the right to a free pass above the law, themselves. It is simply evidence of the poor mentality fostered within the ranks when some do and say things like what we are discussing. I don't want the job of law-enforcement made more difficult, I simply want it done correctly. If it is difficult to do correctly, then we need different people in management or in the boots on the ground.
  22. How many of us have done it?
  23. I dunno if I'd be questioning the virility of someone who knows how to properly dispose of a body...
  24. I was hoping that the P30 would be available in .357sig... but so far they are only advertising 9mm. Might still look into one though...
