  1. Who said anything about martyrdom? And even so, who makes a man or woman into a martyr, anyways? The person who refuses to compromise their principles, or the people who would rather kill them than accept those principles? If I have to conform to the will of this sick society to avoid being a martyr, if it comes to that... you'd better believe that I would not go quietly. Though I realize that there are always those who would sell-out, I do not wish to be counted among them. May they live forever.
  2. I'll wear mine proudly every time I OC at Hastings... "Hey look! It's a guy wearing a TGO cap getting tasered on the news!!!" ...now that's advertising
  3. Then I guess it didn't matter what the people they were struggling against thought or believed about their convictions... what mattered was how strongly THEY believed them, and how far they were willing to go to defend them. Similarly, whether or not you believe that I was created with a right to defend my life doesn't affect my tenacity on the matter in the least. So, a lost argument? No, it has simply not been comprehended or taken to heart by the opposing party.
  4. Get and autoloader with a rear sight which protrudes prominently... use it to rack the slide against your belt, etc. Loading a revolver requires just as many hands as reloading a mag-fed, and as mentioned, needs to be done more often. Welcome to TGO!
  5. Seemed to fit pretty well in the Declaration of Independance...
  6. Thank you for your service, and welcome to TGO!
  7. I shoot alot of Georgia Arms ammo... The only caliber which I've ever had problems with was .45acp. The casing discoloration is normal for bulk reloads, but won't cause any problems... It's improper sizing that messes with feeding and extraction, in my experience. I've put several thousand rounds of G-A .357sig through my XD and Sig, with zero issues of any kind.
  8. I can be there anytime after 3pm. I'd love to help!
  9. I don't wear hats... but I'll buy 2 or 3, to wear at group functions and the range, etc... Polos would be nice.
  10. I've heard that pointing a loaded gun at a gun-shop owner is the fastest way to lower the value of your trade-in... if not your life.
  11. My wife's HCP came in the mail yesterday... took right about 4 weeks.
  12. Just watched ol' Rudy at the NRA convention on C-Span... It wasn't encouraging, but not altogether unexpected. Pretty much the only thing he said, between all of his words, was that the government should enforce the laws which are already in place before considering more laws... Listening to Mike Huckabee afterward made me feel much better.
  13. Joe has a SAO P220 Carry up at Hero Gear for a really good price. It's a bi-tone.
  14. That's why I want a Krink AK74 pistol for the trunk...
  15. A P220 Carry SAS would be nice... I can honestly say that I would take one of those for daily carry before a 1911.
  16. I would bet that a good aftermarket, self-lubricating coating would be very beneficial to the reliability of a 1911. Few stock 1911s are both extrordinarily accurate and reliable, but are almost sure to be one or the other. I never felt under-equipped with one.
  17. If you have a rifle* or pistol (without possessing an HCP) in your vehicle, and loaded magazines, it would be my advise to keep one or the other locked up... ideally both, and seperately. Regardless, if you insist on carrying loaded magazines, don't do anything which would result in a traffic stop... and never give permission for an unwarranted search. *be careful about carrying rifles and loaded magazines... that is considered illegal. Probably wouldn't be an issue if one or the other was locked up and separated, but just be aware.
  18. "I only wish that ordinary people had an unlimited capacity for doing harm; then they might have an unlimited power for doing good." - Socrates "It is lamentable, that to be a good patriot one must become the enemy of the rest of mankind." - Voltaire "To be truly radical is to make hope possible rather than despair convincing." - Raymond Williams
  19. Just like there is no evidence that firearms in general are a detriment to society... yet.

    Car Crashes

My insurance finally went back down last year after a major accident I was in 4 years ago... (wadded a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 up like a ball of tin foil). Then I got married, and it went up again (wife is under 25). Never have been dropped from insurance, I've had several carriers over the past 10 years... simply looking for the best rate.
  21. Has this actually occurred? I read alot of speculation about OC here and elsewhere, but no evidence of any detrimental effect by it.
  22. I got it too. Excellent!
  23. ...it's time for another over-flight over your sector, it must be wearing off...
  24. There were some slide problems with a certain run of Beretta 92F pistols having metallurgical flaws which resulted in quite a number of slide separations in conjunction with hot ammo... hence the subsequent 92FS line, (Safe) which had a new locking block, and slide-block design (among a few other minor changes). I haven't heard of the earlier 92SB models having any such problems.
  25. Are you sure that isn't true...?
