  1. was at the twra range in cheatham today for the first time, after the kids shootin melons with their .22 rifle and handguns on the 15yd left, and the kids with the ar shootin random soda cans and paper targets on the 50yd range left, me and the old nose also still shootin on the 100yd got to talkin. he was sayin he was amazed how clean that range was today. he hadn't been in a year and used to come all the time and would have to haul bagS of trash out when he left because guys would just leave whatever they came with on the ground and every which where. he was expectin it to have closed down it was so bad. is it twra cleaning up or volunteers, anyone know?
  2. cowtotes! that's awesome, nice catch.
  3. Disservice to the cause for surely. I've conducted extensive conversations with a couple non-HCP friends about carrying and my guns. Demonstrations and handling occur only at the range or in private out of view of *mmmbaah* sheep. woops that bit slipped out
  4. yup plenty of good points.. i think if you put it in a blog it will allow it in one big segment..
  5. she probably didn't spend a considerable amount of time lookin in the driver seat.. if a car is running in a parking lot and quick glance shows no one inside it's probably 80% of the time unlocked easy score. if it wasn't running she may have just been on meth and cracked out. "she knew she had to ask that guy sitting there but the window's up.. quickest way is to open the door and talk to him.. oh that didn't work ok knock knock. but this camera thing blah for 5 dollars so i can get another hit, no, ok, keep moving next, next, need to get higher". statistical probability is she's a junkie on a fixhunt as opposed to a baiter with an accomplice waiting for someone to open the door and conduct an aggravated robbery or carjacking.
  6. i like pitbulls. id like to take the refs flags away when vick plays. he's a criminal and drug user. he shouldn't be allowed to play. he should be in prison for much longer than he was. the nfl shouldn't have allowed him to play again. nike shouldn't have resigned him in july for endorsements. he should be on t.v. for children to see and idolize.
  7. very nice.. i admit im partial to anything with the appearance of woodgrain lol. plus i want to add a 1911 maybe in the spring...
  8. greetings David! practice makes more paper people dead
  9. can someone quietly burn the quayside california is connected by and we'll just let them drift off into the pacific it'll be like hawaii 2
  10. i crush up spicy nacho doritos and mix it into mah supah hot chili.. keep rolling it until it resembles a giant cheese ball hah.. spoon to mouth with breaks for kleenex & more beer. i will suffer the wrath of this self punishment one day.. but it's so good.
  11. Would definitely second/third the importance of 1st knife. My swiss army given by my godparents when I was 7 is one of my most prized possessions. I also lament the whole some parents won't want their kids to have one unfortunately. I would focus on getting a decent set for onsite work along with lots of instruction regarding safety. I might go so far as to do some one on one questioning of parents and tell em you'd like to give each scout a swiss army knife for christmas & find out if there are any objections.. maybe you can find areally cool substitute for those kids.. neat compass or good flashlight..maybe a bladeless multi-tool then they won't feel left out. Good job sir, thanks for leading another generation. via EPIC4G SRF1.1.0 by Android Creative Syndicate
  12. ANY sign he puts up regarding guns will invite questions and discussion. If he doesn't want to talk about it and think through the possibilities and possibly have to defend his viewpoint he's best off not posting and just come to terms with the fact that the likelihood of two legally licensed HCP holders becoming involved in some wild west shootout is like 0.00482%. If there was to be a shootout involving an HCP holder the large probability would be that it would involve the defense of that individual, another customer or the staff themselves. And that the other person involved likely would Not be carrying the gun legally and with the intent of perpetuating a crime, so any sign he put on the door would do nothing to stop them from committing aforementioned crime with a gun. You haven't said what kind of business it is (restaurant, retail store, etc) but if he's concerned about scaring away wealthy customers let him know the easiest way to curtail open carry is expectation of customer apparel set by staff clothing, ambience, decor, etc. If I go to a high end restaurant I know they have certain dress code expectations (not requirements) and I would be less inclined to be so obvious about printing or possibility of visible carry. Sure plenty of wealthy people live as sheltered sheep with the assumption of safety and being exposed to the butt of a gun disrupts their harmony & reminds them that their money doesn't always buy protection because criminals are able to travel. On the flipside lots of wealthy people are quietly gun totin conservatives that are concerned about protecting what they have and understand they are targets for some. He may well alienate them by posting anything as well. Either way posting will present lost revenue for business. The percentage of customers that see postings & are reassured are small imho. Most non carriers ignore the meaning along with everything else regarding situational awareness. via EPIC4G SRF1.1.0 by Android Creative Syndicate
  13. path of least resistance. some people just can't see past a fundamental difference. i'm too apathetic to devote an intensive amount of time persuading them to see a different perspective when they probably aren't receptive to begin with. "nope no guns, yup i've been sleeping normal..." moving right along. the doc is there to do what i need not to waste time with my non-needs. a med doctor inquiring about a lifestyle decision that is only medically related by adverse risk is wasting my time. do i speed while driving? do i bike without a helmet. don't patronize me doc. if i'm doing something i'm probably more aware of the potential negative health consequences than a pcp who may or may not have any first hand experience. all that being said.. i don't want to have to say it again with any doctor so "nope no guns doc".
  14. Naphthalene (moth balls) temporarily can discourage squirrels from entering attics and other enclosed spaces. A repellent can be made by combining one pound of copper naphthenate with 2 1/2 quarts of either mineral spirits, linseed oil or shingle stain. If color is unimportant, two pounds of copper carbonate and three pounds of asphalt emulsion create a good repellent. A rain shower will easily wash away the cayenne pepper mixes, retail sprays or predator urine that will work temporarily.
  15. My opinion is that zombies are a good outlet for people to deal with The End Of The World As We Know It (TEOTWAWKI) scenarios and S___ Hit The Fan (SHTF) plans. Without being characterized as fanatical conspiracy theorist nutjobs etc. Because everybody knows zombies aren't real... uhm right?? It is easier for mainstreamers to look at it as a humorous sidebar rather than a serious tactical consideration for what could happen. Plus ALOT of people like zombie movies and as a society we've accepted them into mainstream media tv/movies since the 1940s/50s so it has a multi-generational appeal. It's politically correct to openly discuss zombie annihilation methods versus any other topic. Nobody can agree on what will happen with XX event.. global warming, financial destabilisation, border crossing, famine, rioting. It's too mentally uncomfortable to imagine the level of depravation that could occur in a mid+ metropolitan area that becomes beset by misfortune.. natural disasters, bombings, etc.. pillaging, looting, vandalism, rape, cannibalism, etc. Too many people are convince aliens would be friendly and not conquerors and we could get along etc. So zombies are mindless, carriers of infection, flesh eaters that obviously must be destroyed. That's kind of a summary really.. there are quite a few posts in zombie/survival boards that expound on this more eloquently and in greater detail..
  16. Tipster, do you have a good holster/belt to carry your pf9 on a day to day basis yet? Have you got a plan for vehicle storage if you have to go into a prohibited carry location yet? Just a couple logistics to work out while you wait. Let us know when you receive! via EPIC4G SRF1.1.0 by Android Creative Syndicate
  17. So all the discussion about 'uninvited' was moot to this case though worthy of being discussed... I think the real lesson here is consequences of your own actions pfft via EPIC4G SRF1.1.0 by Android Creative Syndicate
  18. last time i went it was like "oh lawdie" everytime you turned around... cryin 16 yr old flunked her drivin test... bewildered truck driver tryin to get a road test... crazy middle east cab driver on his bluetooth talkin non stop arabic... for every one of the previous there was two drunk drivers tryin to get licenses reinstated and had to be repeatedly told they didn't have the right form... they need the other form... and they could call the court and get it faxed over from the clerk... slit my freakin wrist now please oh my gawd these people are stealing my air, if this is how people act should i carry i gun, who am i to judge if they are a complete waste of chromosome and their genome should be deleted before it continues to dilute the gene pool. oh yeh myers-briggs and their 3% intJ(udgemental)..but non of this is polite to get on a diatribe about per say perhaps it would be better if i just mail in everything i can from now on and let the rest just expire
  19. i've yet to see a Bank of America that was posted, uhm more atms/branches across the country than regions or suntrust or anyother town/county/state bank in TN? though i go in perhaps 3 times a year. everything else i do at a drive up, never a walk up atm with my gun at hand or online with my gun at hand. tellers just generally irritate me on principle, they talk too loudly about my business and there's no privacy in drive-thru lanes or in lobby. BofA acct is free checking with 1 direct deposit a month, $8/month otherwise. no fees for using credit/debit/checks anywhere for any amount. i don't understand when people say "my bank charges me for debit(or credit)". it's pretty much all the same ACK trans nowadays anyways except in rural 4 branch "Bank of Township". if you live in a town you have 1 town bank that's cool and all but if you live in a city with multiple banks why allow them to exercise these fees for utilizing your own money that you are buffering to them for their interest earnings while they charge you??
