  1. Maybe I misunderstood what you're defining as the middle, but I took it as saying someone must absolutely believe in either the "left" or the "right" in order to be decisive. I recognize that moving our polarized politics to a middle ground is impossible because no one is willing to budge. What we have is a game of tug a war between the two sides and change only happens when somebody pulls harder, not through compromise. It's a shame. I wish we could abolish our two party system and give Americans the opportunity to choose the most qualified candidate instead of deciding between bad and worse. I acknowledge that this is nothing more than a fantasy, but was once the intentions of our founding fathers. I still don't think that I need to identify with a particular side to be decisive though.
  2. Exactly. The problem is them trying to project their ideals on other states. California needs to start their own country and take all their debt with them.
  3. I carry a G19 in a Don Hume IWB holster. You certainly have to be cautious of shirt tail when reholstering. Usually if I'm carrying I never take it out of the holster unless I come back home in which case the whole configuration comes out. Since the IWB is such a tight fit, when putting the holster on I have the weapon already inside the holster. This eliminates the worry of accidentally getting the shirt tail in the trigger well or taking the weapon slightly out of battery (due to the tight fit).
  4. So what's the decision? I have an extra 92 barrel w/ locking block to get out of the toolbox!
  5. Freedom to be ignorant is still freedom. I wish more people would make an effort to develop their own opinions but the fact is they don't. I'm one of those people who can watch CNN everyday, but still filter out the BS and know when I'm being manipulated. I just don't like feeling as if I have to subscribe to a "left" or a "right" in order to have an opinion. That sets limitations to your own free thinking ability; I mean, let's just say a liberal comes up with a good idea...
  6. Wow, very interesting. You learn something new everyday.

    retro ar 15

Any day now I'm getting the metal collapsible stock and old handguards for my retro carbine. I'll post some pics when it is done.
  8. Well the ammo would have been my second guess after the feed ramp. If it's neither one then I'd have it looked at from another set of eyes. Does it hang up when you manually rack the slide (with no mag/rounds)?
  9. I disagree. I think the requirement to be polarized one way or the other is what keeps us from moving forward. I usually find myself in the middle of the road because I try to see things from both angles to better understand the situation. I know exactly where I stand on the issues, but I'm always prepared to abandon my beliefs if it becomes self evident that I'm wrong.
  10. Hmmm, well I guess it could be the spring, but the fact it is hanging up seems a little odd unless the spring is bent or something. I'm assuming you fired different manufactures of ammo with the same results?
  11. I guess I don't fully understand what you're describing. Is it hanging up when cycling? Is it just not a clean/smooth slide action when chambering the next round during cycle? If that's the case it could be the ammo getting caught on the feed ramp. That would mean it's the ammo, magazine or dirty feed ramp.
  12. Wall Street Zombies - VIDEO - troyrecord.com Good thing they got gun control up there in New York. If I saw this mob going down the street in Tennessee I'd have no choice but to start slaying brain eaters.
  13. Downtown Disney Westside is a great area for restaurants and activities. It's a little touristy, but I lived in Orlando for a couple of years and still went down there for a good time as opposed to the attractions. I haven't been down there for almost 10 years but I assume it's mostly the same.
  14. I don't see how believing in Christ somehow protects you or your family. That logic suggests that bad things only happen to people of faiths other than Christianity. Christ himself was murdered. I think he is confusing personal security with the security of one's eternal soul.
  15. I have a 96 which is pretty much the same thing. I love it; no complaints.
  16. I agree with leaving it at home when dropping off; better safe than sorry. I just don't see myself letting someone search my vehicle no matter what the circumstances without my permission, I don't care what some sign says.
  17. Heat seeking??? Blatant LIES trying to create fear and panic to the average person that doesn't understand firearms. Even if their problem is incendiary rounds that should be separate from the issue of owning a .50 since it's illegal to have incendiary rounds anyway. Hell, there are such things as API rounds for 7.62 X 51 and 7.62 X 54R. I hate how dumb liberals aren't even remotely educated on the issues that they so strongly believe in.
  18. ? Who has this authority to search my vehicle without probable cause?
  19. Good to hear. Even with the downturn in the economy, I think that Tennessee is still an attractive place to visit on a budget for travelers from the mid-west, southeast and most of the east coast. We have so many unique places to see and such inviting residents. I'm excited to see this tourism campaign take off nationwide.
  20. Do we all agree that any Presidential election at this point is just a choice of who pisses us off the least, or does anyone have a candidate they whole-heartedly stand by on all issues?
  21. Must have been a sink hog.
  22. I think the existance of this panel in inconsequential to the root issue of Awlaki being killed. It seems to me, based on the historical precedent set over the course of American history and the reasons they cited for killing Awlaki, that a field commander could have made the decision to drop a hellfire on him. The reason the panel exists is probably because the buck kept getting passed higher on approval because no one in the chain wanted to risk their a$$ by making the decision, hence the lawers being on the panel.
  23. Right on, that's probably what it is. It's been a few years since I've built an AR and I remember everything being so smooth on the last couple of RRAs I've built on.
  24. I just built on a Spikes lower last month using a YHM lower kit. Everything fit ok, but the receiver pins were pretty tight even after soaking them in clp overnight before install. I have to use a armorer's rubber mallet to tap it out. If I had to do it over again I would use the Spikes lower kit just to ensure the parts properly fit. BTW, I bought the lower local from Tennessee Gun Country for only $105. Pretty good deal on a quality lower.
  25. I think they could tax 100% of our income and the government would still figure out a way to be broke and raise the deficit.
