I carry to church every Sunday and nobody knows but me and God. If something ever did go down.... The BG would find out I was carrying soon enough.

I gotta try shooting the other people's targets at the range this week. That is cracking me up! There is no better place to piss someone off than a gun range!!!!
-
Sounds like a trooper!!! Hope he feels better soon.

Replacement gun...... $600 ????? Lawyer, court cost, personal time involved...... $$$$$$$$ I hate to say it but sometimes you'd just have to smile when the system gives it to you high and hard!!!!

Keep going and a fine tuned (expensive) 1911 will end up feeling weird.

Obama and Rosie Both Want Guns Protecting Their Kids

Full autos and body armor for everyone!!!!! Palin would look even hotter with a 1911 in a OWB holster while she gave a speech! -
I've polished the feed ramp on everything I have. I use 400 grit and follow it with 600 grit sandpaper. After that, I used jewelers rouge (purchased from my favorite watchmaker for $2) and a dremel on low speed. The idea is to make it slick as glass and not to try to change any angle on it. Patience, patience, patience!!!!

I'm not familiar with anyone in Memphis that rents Paras. I traded for my Warthog and I'm glad I did. I'm a professional tinkerer so I knew the Para wouldn't be anything I couldn't fix if I had trouble out of it. I do prefer the SA aspect of it rather than any type of DA. PM me if you are coming to Memphis some time and we'll try to meet at RangeUSA. (rangeusa.com) It is a nice range and they do sell guns also.

I've done it for some friends but never a chargable thing. I started with doing a "fluff and buff" as described on the KTOG.org website. (I have a P3AT that needed it.) This website gave me some ideas also: http://www.sightm1911.com/lib/tech/reliability_secrets.htm The Militec 1 made it even better. That stuff is like Slick 50 for guns! I can try to get some pics together but it'd be hard to tell what I had smoothed out without seeing it in person. Let me know if you ever make it down towards Memphis and I'll be glad to show you how to do it. It's not rocket science but it takes patience.

I have a Warthog that is very close to what you are looking at. (The Warthog is SA rather than the LDA.) I had to do a little "work" to the Warthog to make it as reliable as I wanted it. It does prefer a firm grip because it is so light and also likes to be clean. I spent about four hours with 600 grit sandpaper, a dremel, jeweler's rouge, and Militec 1 to get it to where I would be happy with it. Boy is it sweet now!

I carry a Para Warthog and it is light! It conceals very easily and I am more accurate with it that even I would expect. I love it but..... I did get to hold a new G30SF the other night and I think the Warthog got jealous. I really like what Glock did with that one!

What if the church also operates a school? What if it is just a preschool instead of a K-12 type school?

It takes a fair amount of $4 beer to make inbreeding successful. A fair is a wonderful place to people watch and just wonder how closely their parents were related. My favorite are the ones that spend $50 popping baloons with darts to get a $2 stuffed animal. LOL!!!! I'm certain that they find a great place in the trailer to display it though.

The hair dryer will get it pretty stinkin' hot!!!! Be careful picking it up.

They do sell beer and I would assume that carry is against the rules there. However, I did go last weekend and I do have a KelTec P3AT which is very concealable.

I use Militec 1 on every firearm that I have. It is like Slick 50 for guns! It made a world of difference with my Warthog and P3AT. I could tell the action was much smoother after applying it. I clean the gun thoroughly and then clean any solvents off with alcohol. Next, I apply the Militec 1 and heat it with a hair dryer. I will reapply and add heat usually 3 times depending on how much time I have. This is what has worked well for me! Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!

I am certain that there is quite a quality difference but are these really worth the difference from a KelTec? I regularly carry a KelTec P3AT and if I had to spend the money for the Seecamp, I'd just buy a second KelTec to backup the backup.......

I've had the same issue with several different guns when they were new. I had a KelTec P3AT and a Para Warthog that would fight hollow points from time to time. I read about doing a "Fluff and Buff" on the KTOG.org website tried it. It made a huge difference! I have also used Militec 1 on both of these guns and it only made them better. I'll ususally spend about two hours cleaning and taking these steps on any gun I get that is new to me. Good luck with your Kahr!

I carry my P3AT all the time. A trimmed down Handall Jr. helps the grip a lot! Give it a try. Great gun though and nice pics.

I agree with everthing that Crimsonaudio has to say. One question that I have asked my employees over the years is, "Who is your best friend?" I'll get various answers from "my dad/mom" to "a guy I've known since 2nd grade". Then I will ask how many times that person has paid their utility bill or put money in their 401K and they will laugh. My point is for them to understand that our clients are their best friends and they should be treated like that every time we go to see them. Would you not want to be helpful, kind, knowledgeable, thorought, etc. for your best friend? Where can I find a gun shop like that in Memphis?

At least you guys in the rest of the state aren't dealing with Guns and Ammo in Memphis. They do have a $100 transfer fee but at least they give you tons of attitude with it!
-
WOW!!!! I never thought this thread would take off like this. I figured there would be at least one person to defend G&A. I personally don't have the time or funds to back a gun shop but I'd be more than willing to donate a marketing degree and 20 years worth of business experience to helping get it off the ground.

I am looking for a good gunshop in Memphis. I have done limited business with Guns and Ammo for almost 20 years and cringe every time I enter the store. They are only 5 minutes for the office so I will stop there only to pick up the little things I need or if they are the only place I can find a particular gun. If you are interested in buying something to equip a paranoid "government's gonna get ya" soldier, they might pay some attention to you. Otherwise, it's a "you buy it or you don't" attitude. Their store policies are not written to build long term relationships. (i.e. You send the gun to the manufacturer if there is a problem once you buy it and $100 transfer fees.) Recently, I purchased a Ruger 22/45 from Sportsman's Warehouse and they have a reasonable selection but not too much to offer in the way of expert advice or service if I need help. I have been impressed with the service at Range USA but they have a limited selection. I'm looking for a shop that I can build a relationship with and wants my business. Suggestions???
