  9. Am going to Pigeon Forge for Christmas, and want to take my mother to a range so she can get used to firing a handgun. Does anyone know of any good ranges we might go to in this area? Thanks!
  10. I would take time to examine this thread more thoroughly, but I have to finish my second Double Whopper and fries . . .
  11. Thank you all for the feedback
  12. Use 0000 steel wool. If you need to reblue the spot, use Brownell's Oxpho-blue (the gel is best) as directed to touch up the spot.
  13. Hey All - I really want Santa to bring me a smoker for Christmas. Problem is, I don't know anything about smokers. What kind is best - charcoal or propane? What should I be looking for in a smoker? For something that I want, but will not be using on a daily basis, what would you suggest that is moderately priced? Thanks to all!
  14. Thank you . . . and the best of thanksgivings for you all. We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us. We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us with water. We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases. WE return thanks to the corn, and to her sisters, the beans and squash, which give us life. We return thanks to the bushes and trees, which provide us with fruit. We return thanks to the wind, which, moving the air, has banished diseases. We return thanks to the moon and the stars, which have given us their light when the sun was gone. We return thanks to our grandfather He-no, that he has protected his grandchildren from witches and reptiles, and has given to us his rain. We return thanks to the sun, that he has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye. Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in whom is embodied all goodness, and who directs all things for the good of his children. ~Iroquois Prayer from the 1800's
  15. About five weeks - not bad at all!
  16. This is very, very nice of you to do . . . wish I needed a mattress right now! Thank you.
  17. Gee . . . safer to eat at home . . .
  18. I had the same question: with no serrations, did you have enough grip to pull the slide. Two factors: 1. The "SIS" is cut deeply enough into the slide that it gives me equal "grab power" as if it had serrations. 2. The refinishing is not as slick as the original finish, so I do have better grip on the slide.
  19. $155 + $18 shipping and handling
  20. Thanks - I usually don't refinish them either, but it was an odd color of blue originally, not "blued" as we traditionally know it.
  21. Awhile back I bought a Kimber SIS Ultra from a great guy on TGO, se-real. I love the gun, but never really liked the "blue" finish. I sent the gun to PA for a finish called "Metallife." (Google "Mahovsky's Metalife" to learn about the finish if you are interested.) My pistol came back home to TN and I thought you might want a look!

    FORE!

Sounds like more fun than trying to hit golf balls out in a cow pasture with them sticks . . .
  23. DON'T SHOOT THAT GUN!! I have an original S&W model 36 Airweight unfired; will never fire it unless I have to!!
  24. Kinda like the joke about the hillbilly boy that goes to school for the first time and says his name is "Mountain Dew." Teacher says that couldn't be his name, and asks, "Give me a hint of your REAL name." and he answers, "It'll tickle your innards!" The teacher says, "OK, sit down Dickie." ONLY the oldest of you will get this joke . . .
