  1. Seriously. Now you're just copying me. Go back to posting in DRM's thread or something.
  2. 39-17-1307. Unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon. —(a) (1) A person commits an offense who carries with the intent to go armed a firearm, a knife with a blade length exceeding four inches (4²), or a club. (2) (A) The first violation of subdivision (a)(1) is a Class C misdemeanor, and, in addition to possible imprisonment as provided by law, may be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500). ( A second or subsequent violation of subdivision (a)(1) is a Class B misdemeanor. © A violation of subdivision (a)(1) is a Class A misdemeanor if the person's carrying of a handgun occurred at a place open to the public where one (1) or more persons were present.
  3. Because there is a law on the books which says (and I'm paraphrasing, of course) it is illegal to carry a firearm in public in TN. The HCP is merely a defense to that law. There is no such law forbidding the driving of a car, even though you do have to have a license to do so for the most part. It's a semantic distinction, but an important one.
  4. *AHEM* See post #6, pokey...
  5. Because driving a car isn't illegal in and of itself in TN, whereas carrying a firearm in public is. The HCP is merely a defense to that law. Therefore, anyone openly carrying a firearm is presumed to be breaking the law, and as such, they must be able to produce a permit on demand to prove that they are not. Of course, if one is pulled over while driving, he or she must also produce a valid driver's license on demand, but there is no law that expressly says the very act of driving the car is illegal by default.
  6. Not sure where you're seeing these reports, but the reduction is NOT the same. That's not a knock on the Knoxx, but a spring simply can't do what the Enidine hydraulic system can. Still, if money's an issue, then the Knoxx is still a far better alternative than the factory fixed stock, and I don't think you'd be disappointed.
  7. If they'll let you skip all the way up to #23, then put me down for one. Just let me know via PM.
  8. Any sample pics that you can PM or e-mail?
  9. I had a Knoxx Spec Ops stock on an 870 Tactical, and it does work. It's a spring mechanism though, and there are newer and better things out there. Go to the Mesa Tactical site and check out their AR-style buffer tube adapter with Enidine hydraulic recoil buffer. I'm actually thinking about throwing one of those on my Saiga-12.
  10. Why didn't you just call? I had the exact same problem a while back, called, and got right through to someone. Granted, I only needed one cover, but they dropped it in a USPS envelope for free and I had it in 3 days.
  11. +1. They will. Just call or e-mail.

    Baseball!

Umm...Joe Mauer begs to disagree, sir. Buster Posey might have a thing or two to say about that, as well. And as for predictions, I will go out on a limb and say that my Cubbies will NOT win the World Series this year...
  13. Oh, you didn't misrepresent anyone. I was just trying to let you know that Tony's boss is very much aware of TGO's policy regarding unauthorized advertising already, although Tony himself may not have been.
  14. Just for the sake of clarification, the gentleman who used to post on CCA's behalf and allowed his authorized-vendor status to lapse was the owner, and he is still in place. I've got a feeling David may have an opinion on this subject that encompasses more than just board policy...
  15. There were 5 of us in our little group, and I think I can can speak for everyone when I say we most certainly did. I have exactly ZERO experience shooting anything beyond 200 yds., but I want to, and I saw this class as an opportunity to start adding more tools to the toolbox. I was not disappointed. The organization, information, and delivery were fantastic, and I couldn't help but walk away feeling like I had gotten my money's worth and then some. For those of you in Nashville and Memphis (and elsewhere) who were considering putting together a group for Tres's class, do it! You won't regret it. Thanks again, Tres!
  16. +1, and I'll also drop a note in the new thread, as well.
  17. There will be nothing to "grandfather in", as possessing a tricked-out Saiga-12 will not suddenly become illegal (so long as it's 922r-compliant) even if BATFE does ban their importation. It will simply mean that no more sporterized Saiga-12's will be coming into the country, so demand will go up considerably for the ones that are already here. Their supply already dried up once in the recent past (as an untold number of guns were held up in customs for months), and prices went through the roof. As for your original question, I would not be surprised at all to see BATFE act, as the authors of the report were kind enough to include a nice, big picture of an MD Arms 20-round drum in their discussion of all the things that could be added to a shotgun to make it "evil". Rail systems, foregrips, and the various stock configurations are all extremely common, also. Let's put it this way: I won't be selling my Saiga anytime soon, and I've considered picking up another just for the heck of it...
  18. Not just nearly. They ARE identical. Same with the G31.ETA: While the frames are indeed identical, I feel compelled to point out that the ejectors are different. This is the ONLY difference in a G17 lower vs. a G22 lower, and folks swap uppers all the time without a hiccup. If it were a permanent change, I'd probably swap the ejectors out, but for the OP's purposes (quick fix), swapping uppers works just fine. As has already been said, the pin working its way out of the frame is the bigger concern.
  19. Extended slide LOCK, or extended slide STOP? These are actually two different parts. It's important that you make the distinction, because one mod is extremely easy, while the other is...well...just really, really easy.
  20. No doubt. I would have expected a little more from a website called "Marine Corps Times"...lol. I had to look twice to make sure the article wasn't written by Carolyn McCarthy...
  21. Umm...what? Am I the only one to whom this doesn't make any sense? Are we talking about night sights or an optic (almost assuredly the former), and how would you mount either on the picatinny rail of a 1911? Wow...just, wow...
  22. This. Why would I want to filter out all the drama? That's why I'm here in the first place...lol. Now would someone kindly tell me who got ignored so that I can go back and check their most recent posts in order to get my fix? Thank you.
  23. Sevier Indoor.
  24. The $28 donation guarantees you a spot, and the remaining seats will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis from the list of freebies. Yes, you have to pay a $15 range fee for the qualification portion, but even if you donate the $28 on top of that, at $43 total investment, it's still a HUGE bargain! I'm probably signing my wife up for the March class today.
  25. Vontar, did you just say you prefer your guys hung?
