  1. It's also only 13 3/4" deep. What? Is that not a problem for everyone?
  2. Hmmm...I don't recall allowing you to say that, my little puppet. Might be time to re-tighten the strings...
  3. Actually, the bolded part is a matter of policy for the individual carriers, not a matter of law. FWIW...
  4. Anyone else want to impress us with their "right"? Anyone?
  5. Just left my local branch (Bearden Hill in Knoxville), which is now posted with gunbuster and T.C.A. language on the double door to the main lobby. I've got a call in to the branch manager, who is currently out of the office with a broken ankle. I am sad.
  6. ALL Simon properties have a ridiculously-all-encompassing rules/code-of-conduct sign posted at all mall entrances (no signage at the anchor stores) that includes the aforementioned verbiage about prohibiting weapons of any kind. The sign is not T.C.A.-compliant. My wife works at East Tow...err...Knoxville Center, and I have to walk right past the sign every time I go meet her for dinner. Now, how many times do you think I've set foot in THAT place without being armed?

I carry one with CT laser grips on my ankle any time I have to wear long pants. There is absolutely nothing bad you can say about this gun. For a woman shooter, however, the trigger pull and and recoil may be a bit off-putting. It was never intended to be a "take-it-to-the-range-and-shoot-it-all-day" kind of gun, so she may be hesitant to put in the effort to make herself proficient with it. I agree with the sentiments above: let her shoot one before you commit.
  8. Yeah, and you were supposed to be up there with him. Heard you bitched out...
  9. I hit a steel silhouette at 200 yards with my Glock 29 10mm at a TGO shoot last summer, although it took me 5 shots. Still, I was pretty proud of that one.
  10. THEY apparently think so...
  11. That one actually DID get robbed not too long ago...
  12. FYI: I called last weekend and was told the range would be re-opened by tomorrow, so everyone should be good to go...
  13. Just re-read the thread and saw the pic of the gun you're putting it on (it didn't display the first time for some reason). Perfect setup. You'll love the UBR on that gun. Good choice!
  14. Depends on the configuation of your gun. I've got one on my 16" RECCE, as weight is obviously not my first concern with my big-ass optic and bipod. I will not, however, put one on my 7.5" Noveske or the 10.5" Hero-15 that Joe is building for me, because I want to keep my CQB guns as light as possible (CTR's on both). It's a really great stock though, so if you've just got the itch, go for it.
  15. Yep. I'm not a wheelgun guy, and one of my first experiences with a revolver was with my buddy's .500 S&W. I found that the grip made the behemoth much more controllable, and I've stuck with it ever since. Doesn't feel unnatural at all, even with my little 642. YMMV.
  16. Actually, Darren Myles, Jr. is the only player who has been kicked off the team thus far, and that is because he was also arrested just a couple of months ago for another alcohol-related incident. Two other players have been suspended indefinitely, but neither of those is Da'Rick Rogers, the incoming freshman. The title of this thread is not accurate.
  17. I've gotta finally weigh in on this. The ONLY reason this is news is because of the assaults on the two police officers (one on-duty, the other off). This sort of thing happens every week with UT athletes, but they normally get away with it. As some of you already know, I had a side job (along with our very own Caveman) as a bouncer at the most popular bar/club in the Old City from 2003 to 2008. During the summers of 2003 and 2004, several members of the football team would come in every Thursday night to party. Invariably, they would be involved in some sort of altercation, and on many occasions, we had to remove one or more by force. It was not unusual to see 3-4 players pounding on some skinny frat kid in a corner, and then they would run like scalded dogs the second that security descended on them. This pattern finally culminated in a huge brawl that resulted in the club being shut down early one night and 3 players being pepper-sprayed and placed in handcuffs outside. The end result? The players were allowed to leave with their Strength and Conditioning Coach, and no charges were ever filed. From that point forward, however, they were barred from our property. Believe me when I say that this sort of behavior is the norm in that culture, and not the exception...
  18. +1 to this. I've been eyeing that little, pink rifle for a while now. Is it wrong that I started my 5-year-old out with my GSG-5?
  19. FTFY C'mon now. You know you were just asking for that one!
  20. It ain't 67 days, that's for sure! Feb. 23rd and still waiting for mine. You got my hopes up, you jackhole!
  21. I'm surprised no one has suggested this already, but you could just get the G21SF and a 10mm conversion barrel from KKM, Lone Wolf, etc. (plus mags) and kill 2 birds with 1 stone...
  22. I'm glad to hear that. I went on a cruise for my honeymoon last week, and that "luxury" mattress tore my back all to hell. I couldn't wait to get home to MY bed, and when I finally did, my back was fixed LITERALLY overnight. Here's hoping that the lawsuit doesn't prevent them from putting out the same quality product as before...
  23. I thought it was up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A, Start?
  24. To elaborate, all .40 cal. Glock barrels have a small, crescent-shaped cutout on the bottom-rear of the chamber. This is an intentional design feature that is supposed to aid in feeding reliability. The caveat, however, is that a tiny portion of the casing is not supported by the chamber walls when the gun is in battery, which has led to catastrophic malfunction with overcharged handloads a time or two...(or three, or eleventy bagillion, depending upon whom you want to believe). If you shoot only jacketed factory ammunition, you've got nothing to worry about. If you want to roll your own and try to reach the moon--or even shoot unjacketed lead--then there are a number of companies that make excellent aftermarket barrels with fully-supported chambers. Actually, depending on where the trade-ins came from, many have hardly been shot AT ALL. My very first Glock was a Gen. 3 G22 from the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office. The bore was PERFECT, the night sights were BRIGHT, and there was still plenty of copper lube from the factory in the slide. There are plenty of like-new trade-ins out there at great prices, if you're willing to look for them.
