But have you used them in the same manner in which our soldiers do? I'm not sure they're "junk", but I don't think metal mags can withstand the abuse quite like the PMAGs. I don't have any experience using them in a military setting, but I'm not sure I've ever heard a soldier admit to preferring GI over PMAG. Also, even if what I suggested works, you'll probably want to pull the new plugs and clean them after running it for a while. Even after draining the bad fuel/oil mixture, some will remain inside the engine until it's burned, possibly slightly fouling the new plugs. If it were mine, I'd drain the fuel/oil, replace with new fuel/oil, replace the plugs, and see if that helps. 4-stoke oil will foul out the plugs in a 2-stroke, which could be why it will run for only a short time. Depending in what was done to the Mosin, if you take into account the cost of the rifle, parts, and time to complete the project, that kind of price may not be all that bad.
