  1. People just have no common sense. Making laws will not stop anything.
  2. I did trail maintenance at the Ijams' Nature Center in Knoxville. Basically cleared an older trail and re-chipped it along with doing the same to another trail on the property. I also made a sculpture of Mr. Ijams to put at the trail head. Ended up doing most of the work with only about 4 or 5 other guys, and ended up with heat exhaustion that took me out for the better part of a week. That is why you need a lot of water when working in the sun, even if you feel fine (my stupid mistake.) It's kind of a shame that they have removed the limit. I'm assuming though that it has to be something of note? Not just making some flyers out and saying it's to raise the awareness of something?
  3. Yeah raccoons throw rocks, had one start chucking rocks off a cliff at me one night when I was doing a night dive and surfaced.
  4. I was told that there was an hour requirement for my project. Maybe it just varies troop to troop as to what they leaders want. I guess if national says there isn't a limit though then there isn't one.
  5. When you absolutely have to set someones clothes on fire from less than ten feet.
  6. It really isn't that bad looking. This is going to end up being the mash up of everything Russian that only a parent could love.
  7. I thought about that in the shower this morning, lol. Feed it via PKM belts?I'm starting to think that I just want to build the world's ugliest rifle. Chop it down, put a rail on it, slap on an AK front sight, muzzle brake, red dot, back up iron sight...
  8. As long as it doesn't have a stock it's a pistol. I think, but don't quote me, that all you have to do is cut it down and that's that. You might have to register it as a pistol though. I think we are all trying to learn the NFA rules anyway... I know I am at least, they confuse me.
  9. "Friday Evening Pocket Dump?" That's the last I saw.
  10. Cameras are like rifles. Cheap to buy the rifle, but the glass will get ya. Also finger control.
  11. Eagle Scout here as well. Took 11 years or close to it, handed in the paperwork just a week or so shy of turning 18.
  12. That looks really fun. I think they have one of those in the most recent Battlefield games.
  13. I'm not looking for any deals. What I meant was I would really hope they don't start at retail for them. The only thing I'm really interested in is that Mosin Nagant for a project I want to do.
  14. Well having it feed from a magazine I did know before hand that the PSL was double stack. My thoughts were to basically cut the existing mag well off and build in a receiver for the mag. One of those "Oberez?" pistols would be pretty cool. This is also one of those projects that I came up with after not having any real sleep this week. It's also just so I can see it it's possible to do. Honestly there is no purpose for it. I might also go this route, but I want to try something already made.Garufa and Caster, you are correct, but I want to try it. The first step though is to get hold of a PSL magazine and see what kind of spacing I have to work with. Though now that I think about it I could use SVT-40 magazines. Those are single-stack correct? Problem is finding those.
  15. Sales tax maybe? I'm hoping this won't be a ridiculous bid, I do like that it's going for a good cause though.
  16. I was thinking today about what would make a ridiculous but inexpensive build/project. I have decided to make a detachable magazine Nagant, fed from PSL/Dragunov magazines. Along with that I would also like to shorten the barrel some. Any thoughts or comments?
  17. People who don't support guns are going to use whatever they can get to push a ban/stricter laws. Unfortunately no one wants to be accountable now, never mind if they were doing something wrong or not. If someone gets shot on accident it's obviously the gun company's fault, or if you spill hot coffee in your lap while talking on the phone it's McDonald's fault somehow.
  18. Guess the days of Yellow Journalism are back or maybe they never left, I can't tell. Also always follow the money trail.
  19. I'm also wondering about some of those cap and ball revolvers, if those are old I would be interested. I also wonder where they'll start the bidding.
  20. I wonder how many of people on here are Eagles?
  21. I know there was one last year that I went to. Honestly though I don't know of any, haven't been in contact with anyone even remotely in the know.
  22. Congrats on the Eagle, I'm one as well. Unfortunately fewer and fewer people are going that far to get it.
  23. That's what we are all hoping for I think.
  24. That's not bad looking. I kinda like that better than the OD Green ones.
