  1. Is there any real noticeable difference in accuracy between the shorter barrel on the 22/45 and the Hunter at say 25 yards? I really want to get one of the two and like the threaded barrel on the 22/45, but like the longer barrel on the Hunter.
  2. Kinda like police cars, they just appear.
  3. He definitely goes closed to open. Guess they didn't want a round chambered...
  4. The Outpost can be good and bad. Of all the times I've been there, (went to school down the road in BB) service really hasn't been that great. Personally it seems like they up the prices a lot more than they should, maybe that's just me though. If get to know some of the guys in there they can be great, but if you don't then they treat you like you have no clue about firearms. That's the one thing that always grinds my gears about gun store employees.
  5. Unfortunately not much of that will be well reported, but then again maybe it will.
  6. This just gets more and more confusing. Might want to make sure there isn't anything in there you don't know about. If you think about it though a really stupid and large bird could have hit it and then when trying to fly off, pushed the glass. It's just weird though.
  7. Ok, I figured out how to do all the milling. Took me a lot longer to figure out how to do it then it should have. Take you block and do a basic mill to separate the different depths. From there cut you outline and finish up the rough milling by hand or with a dremel. The picture isn't very good because I'm trying to get it up so you can understand my thought process before I have to go somewhere, hope it helps.
  8. A though just came to me. You can do a basic outline and then put in spacers to compensate. This is what I'm thinking.
  9. Thanks Erik! I was just wanting to make my own to say that I made my own, but I think I may just be in over my head...
  10. I'm thinking now that I might just order a set from Grips4U and see how he milled his out and then try it with mine. I might try something else tonight though on the drill press and see what I can't come up with. I'll add pictures on the restoration version of this post.
  11. Well I finally understand what you mean. I started working on that just a little while ago. I don't have access to a mill so I'm setting the depth on my Dremel grout removal tool (the round thing that screws on) and routing it that way. I messed up though so I think I am going to have to start over on one of the grip scales. What I'm thinking now is start over and mill my blanks before shaping them so I have a perfectly level surface versus trying to level it some other way.
  12. I have finished the Grips in the sense of having them sanded down the way I want. Unfortunately now I have to mill some of it away so that they will actually fit on the pistol.
  13. Oh okay I understand. As in inside the van or outside of the van? Maybe a bird dive-bombed your car. As in a hawk going to a mouse that ran under the van.
  14. Any chance of a stray round? I know you said bb but I don't think a bb would knock glass that far to the opposite side?
  15. Very interesting indeed.
  16. Excellent choice.
  17. I wish the Hunter Mark III came with a threaded barrel.
  18. The grip outline cut, now to halve these.
  19. So I decided the other day while working on making a new set of pistol grips that I wanted a knife to go along with them. Here is a drawing that I did of what I want it to look like. It's going to be made out of a Bird's Eye pattern Damascus with Walnut scales. I was just hoping to get some feedback of what you guys thought of the design. It will incorporate a glass breaker on the end, and bottle opener for those "just in case moments." I apologize for not putting a scale in the picture but it's quarter inch graph paper. The knife isn't being designed a my main knife, but as a back up to my normal carry one. The reason behind this is because I am having a custom Kydex magazine carrier made for a magazine and decided it would be nice to have a magazine and knife that I could reach with my weak hand if I needed to.
  20. This sounds like loads of fun. I know what I'm doing when I get home...
  21. Those are some nice looking knives you have there, Caster. Good work. I'm working on some wood scales for a knife of mine so it will match my pistol grips.
  22. I don't see how the mother wouldn't have killed him as well. Maybe she thought he was dead after getting attacked by the Mountain Lion?
  23. That's very nice looking, I like that a lot.
  24. Anyone catch the MSRP? I looked but must have missed it. Another gun for my list as well.
  25. Yeah no problem. I think those are for support and rigidity, not for any other function. That's my take at least but maybe someone will come along tell us otherwise. The only reason I think that is because it's not a solid piece of plastic, it's rather thin.
