  1. The general public doesn't help it any.
  2. Four and a half hours? I have a feeling that since you posted it that means it couldn't have been easy.
  3. There are a bunch of guys around Knoxville, try going to Mabry Hazen and they should be able to direct you some. I used to know some guys who did it a lot, I'll see if I can't find their numbers and pass them along.
  4. I'm a Nikon guy and that's the way I would go. Go feel both though and see what feels better.
  5. Hmm... Might have to make a trip to that. They have an item or two on there that I would like for projects. I'm a tad surprised actually with some of the items on there, like the bp pistols. Guess the criminals decided to use whatever they had. Lot of .22's. I'm assuming the "Russian 7.62" is a Mosin Nagant? Anyone know?
  6. Do you mean cut the crimp off of it? From there how do you re-crimp it? I made some wax .308's the other day and am going to make some more today/tomorrow if I have the chance.
  7. Most excellent.
  8. Surrender? This wasn't a war/police chase, there isn't any surrendering with a shooter like that.
  9. Ah, I see. Well it looks good in any case, I like really being able to see the grain like that.
  10. i'm liking this project. What finish did you use on the wood?
  11. That's looking mighty nice. Makes me want another one along with an M44. Oh what muzzle break are you using?
  12. Another shooting is just what we need now...
  13. Seems like hoodies are all the rage right now.
  14. It seems like kids can't get away with as much now with all these laws and over-protective people around. Heck the public schools have security cameras in them now, try talking your way out of putting a snake in a locker now.
  15. That's the way I am with mine, I don't baby them any. I know people who do though, which in some ways isn't a bad thing. Then again if your gun stays just as pretty as the day you bought it, you don't shoot it enough.
  16. That would be nice... Maybe on the next model?
  17. With the Hi Point you don't worry about it nearly as much as you do with anything else. If you drop it, well it didn't hurt it. A more expensive tacticool gun on the other hand...
  18. Being in retail myself we get this junk all the time. I've had several customers yell at me for a good five minutes for saying have a nice day. One guy yelled at me apparently because one of the guys in the back looked at him funny. Chances are he was trying to take something and that's why he got mad, then again I don't know what kind of day he was having so I'm not going to make assumptions. We get some different ones in. Funniest was a guy trying to walk out with five deadbolt/doorknob sets in his pants, no joke. It was entertaining watching him try to run and I'm assuming a little painful. Gotta watch where that chunk of metal is swinging in those baggy pants.
  19. In highschool our headmaster decided to call the police on a class of 48, on the senior prank night, which is a tradition at the school I attended. Needless to say eight Bedford County Sheriff's Deputies were called in for less than 48 people "just in case." Apparently the headmaster thought we were going to destroy his house which was on the property. Long story short two of us were almost arrested and ended up sending the rest of the officers on a goose chase for everyone else. It was not a fun night, but on the plus side all the ladies thought it was a bada$$ story.
  20. Well played 5.11
  21. I was hiking up in the Smokies on the Appalachian Trail and found a full pack. Some person had just chucked it off the trail. Saw it in the same place several days later. I was really contemplating taking it back to the ranger station but decided against it. Figured someone might have gone off on a little tangent and had hidden it so someone wouldn't take it, and it was a huge pack which would have loaded me down even more. Didn't want that.
  22. This is true. It's one of those things that isn't that high on my list to deal with though.
  23. I've shot both and like both, but I wish that they could make one with features from both.
  24. I really didn't put any thought into it before when I said that. I wish though that the 22/45 would come with adjustable sights, not fixed. Maybe that's just me. Thinking about it though, with a six inch barrel and then the can I think the longer barreled Hunter would be a bit unwieldy for my tastes. Also it just seems like it would tip forward more because of more weight being upfront unless you mounted optics. Oh well, just my take on it. Maybe I need to get the paperwork for some class III things in before November in case Obama gets re-elected...
  25. I was just wondering. I like the longer barrel but I want to be able to put a suppressor on it. Thinking about it now though that might make the balance too far forward. Looking on Ruger's site it looks like they are all 1:16 now.
