  1. That knife is huge. It's like a folding machete.
  2. I might have just said something horribly, horribly wrong.
  3. That's my one concern. Thankfully though I have a FedEx shipping number and all of that, if I can use it for this purpose. At the same time though I'm not doing it for any profit since he's a friend of mine, and I really just like working on guns.
  4. Chris is a good guy, and you are correct about them being busy. Honestly I think they have Craig's beat in terms of costumer service. Don't get me wrong though, I do like Craig's a lot but you have to know them.
  5. During the course of the argument something came up about Al Sharpton. This guys response is that Al Sharpton has no motive to promote racial items like "hate crime," but rather that he is an ex-civil rights activist who is still stuck in his old ways. Also that he thinks that the population has yet to fully be able to comprehend no racial discrimination, therefore we need "hate crime" type laws/devices in place. Several other people near by turned and looked at him like he was crazy and continued arguing with him. At that point I decided just to leave.
  6. Okay, that would make things a little bit easier if he doesn't have to run it through an FFL for the first ship. Let me get this correct though before I say anything else. He can ship directly to my FFL without going to his first, then once I'm done I can send it to his FFL without running it through mine. Is that correct?
  7. Right, right. Hmm, I'll talk to him and see if he really wants to send it/if it really needs a re-coating that badly.
  8. Ok, he's from out of state, or rather is in and out of state but thought it would be easier to ship. What does shipping through the FFL involve? Taking it to them and saying I need this shipped to (name of FFL)?
  9. I have a friend who wants me to clean up his 1911 and have it re-coated. He was just going to ship it to me and when I was done I was just going to ship it back. Is this legal to do or do any precautions need to be taken such stripping it down to pieces and sending it, or just sending the pieces that need to be coated? Any input would be great before anything is done.
  10. I wonder if it would be possible to use a section of the U.S. as a test bed for X number of years? Might give a better idea of what would happen.
  11. Unfortunately we all know that won't change anytime soon. Especially with the secretaries needing secretaries needing secretaries to get their coffee.
  12. They're new as of last year. Heard about them through the Orkin guy who sprays the store. Funny story about how I ended up there actually. The Orkin guy and I are friends and we were talking about shooting in the back of the store. He made mention that he found this new store in Seymour that had $120 Mausers for sale, turns out late he meant "Mosins." I dropped everything I was doing to go grab one of these "Mausers," unfortunately they were not Mausers, but Mosin Nagants. Ended up buying one anyway when I was there.
  13. Very pretty looking. What finish did you use on the wood?
  14. The only problem with the same for everyone is what is fair? Not everyone could afford say four thousand, but on the other hand is 200 isn't enough to keep some programs that require the funding in place. That's my take at least.
  15. I had several like that there. I left one, because they didn't have my major, and two, majority of the professors there shared that view. One decided that he was more important that my father being in the hospital. Came up to me in class and said "I don't care if your father is in the hospital, you come to class when I'm here and leave when I'm done. Be here next time." He said that along with some other things that have no bearing on here so I'll spare those details. I'm normally a very calm person but the gloves about came off at that comment. I decided he wanted me to get mad at him so instead I looked him in the eyes and said "understood." But yes, people like that are the problem.
  16. I'm seeing a trend here. Hit the emoticon and then see all.
  17. I went to Sewanee for a year and half before transferring for engineering (still in college.) Can't say I liked that place, nothing but liberals and professors who say you should only support their view. It also had quite the load of philosophy, religion, and ethics you had to take. Actually had one of my professors write on a paper "not my view, minus 10." That didn't make me happy.
  18. I got into a debate with a liberal over this last night. It did not end well, as we all could guess.
  19. That's a confusing argument on his part...
  20. Lol. It's coming down to this, build one up myself, or buying my friends Colt.

    Lanyard

The the Cobra Weave next, that's also one of the more common ones. Also check out "Stormdranes" blog. http://stormdrane.blogspot.com/ Lots of good stuff on there.
  22. Try Rocky Top Armory, go down Chapman Highway and past Craig's. It's over the hill past the Kroger's, start slowing down when you do get over the hill or you'll miss it, it's in the parking lot that the U.S. Celluar is in.
  23. The leade is just a hair different on SAAMI spec (.223) versus the military specs (5.56.) In other words you can fire .223 in a 5.56 rifle, but it's not recommended the other way around.
