  1. This topic has been completely worn out over the past 6 months or so. Really man, use some search here or do some Googling.

    I have a dilemma

OP, if you like the doctor keep your gun in the car. See how simple it is?
  3. By all means let's recommend the NRA take their business elsewhere. "Stay out of Tennesee you biggest supporter of gun rights in the nation. We don't want your presence here" Are you freaking serious? Think about what you said. Those you mentioned helped arrange it, or is the NRA putting on the show themselves?
  4. My feelings exactly. The term has just a little too much propaganda in it.
  5. The first time I heard "Homeland Security" I knew we were ****ed.
  6. Something to think about.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4drosYSvBz0&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMClf5zqG0A&feature=related
  7. Well after three weeks that does say alot. It's good that is finally settled and you have a local merchant to trust.
  8. How about prescription drugs? Half the country's on them. Is it OK to handle a gun after swallowing a nerve pill?

    Profiling

It is human nature. Why fight it?
  10. Well, Elk are big, noble creatures. Way more impressive than deer and why anyone would shoot one I have no idea. They used to be in this part of the country in great numbers until hunted out. Now there is a most successful repopulation program in effect.
  11. You've probably already seen this...Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - Hatfield Knob Elk Viewing Tower but it's all I have to offer.
  12. There are plenty of original 1911's and 1911A1's out there that can be shot all day long. I wouldn't buy one to do so as they cost way more than that Kimber but they are as strong now as then. After 1945 there were no more manufactured for the US military. They continued using them until that Beretta came along. Huge testimony to the pistol's longevity (and reliability ).
  13. A C&R license holder may dispose of firearms in their collection but buying a firearm using that license with intent to resell is really not allowed.

McVeigh came long before the current security paranoia now rampant in this county. There was no TSA at the time and even if there was they are not responsible for searching rented vans and guys that buy fertilizer at the hardware store. Unfortunately, he could not be stopped. More importantly is it cannot be stopped. Maybe it will happen again, maybe it won't. Personally, I would prefer that the average citizen's rights, humanity and dignity were respected enough to go after "potential" terrorists as opposed to everyone that walks in the door. How that is best accomplished I do not know. What I do feel is assuming everyone guilty and subjecting them to invasive, humiliating searches is not the answer.

    Profiling

You point was made, very inappropriately and irrelevantly. If you truly want to engage in a discussion with the forum members then please do so. It's not just an impression of "hit and run". The fact is, it was. I recommend you delete that posting altogether.
  16. People are waking up and will forget all about it in a week or two.
  17. While I have no experience with the Protector I do have a Pardner Pump and in some ways consider it superior to the 870 Express. For a shotgun that is seldom used it fits my needs perfectly (Turkey shoot once a year). The bolt is chromed, the stock is walnut and the only plastic to be found on it is the magazine plug. The receiver is blued and action smooth. I am only speaking to the quality of the NEF shotguns. There are differences between the PP and Protector.
  18. Like LngRngShtr said, be careful of getting an Eddystone rebarreled. If the old barrel is not removed properly the receiver has a very good chance of cracking. Tons of information out there about it. Becuase of a relief cut that must be made to get the old one off it's very difficult to find an original barrel. If you really must do it that CMP barrel is the way to go. That same barrel from Midway is significantly more and does not have the necessary modifications as does the CMP version. Personally, I wound't worry about the pitting. My Remington 1917's bore looks like the surface of the moon but the rifling is strong and it shoots great.
  19. Firearm serial numbers can be traced (mostly) and the internet is full of *******s who like to make life difficult for people. Do you really need to know more?
  20. 12/15 is wildcard day at SOG. All previous day's sales are honored.
  21. Those that need it know.
  22. May want to read up on El Al raydog. Apparently you show up 3 hours early and they personally interview all candidate passengers.
  23. Assuming you are carrying a rifle on this hunt...use that.
  24. Why would he? There really are far more important issues in this state. What remains to be seen is if the Legislature (who makes the laws ) takes up the issue and passes it. Will the Governor sign?
  25. Why in the hell would you need a rail on a "pocket" gun, which Glock has yet to produce. You gonna use it for home defense or shove a light/laser combo half as big as the gun into said "pocket" or holster?
