  1. If that doesn't speak volumes to Spike's dealer relations, I don't know what does So Joe, did they slash dealer pricing by 1/2 (half of their BS inflated post-election price, that is) as well? Did they crank out a metric butt-ton of lowers thinking everyday from here on out was going to be Nov. 6th or something?!
  2. I'm quite the carnivore myself, and nowhere near a PETA fan, but the torture of animals (not just domesticated, but food animals as well) really gets me hot under the collar. With the advances in technology, there is no reason for an animal to endure torture before becoming dinner. Besides that, it's been proven that the quality of the meat degrades when an animal experiences terror and extreme discomfort before being processed. Can't help but wonder where that ass clown is these days, Trip. Maybe he graduated to woman suits and lip syncing in front of the mirror while playing "now you see it, now you don't".
  3. Hunt around for some Prvi Partizan. Seems like I've seen some decent prices on their M193 lately.
  4. Dealing w/ stuff like that is never fun, but you gotta admit, making on the fly field repairs is oddly satisfying! Yeah, luckily I had some levers waiting on me at home. This situation has given me serious consideration of being a good boy scout and throwing an extra lever or two under my seat! Maybe I can use this to convince myself I really DO need a dual-sport to accompany my SV... I've got nothing on this cat
  5. Hats off to Ford. For some reason it kind of reminded me of the last scene in Jarhead, when the guys have returned from Iraq and are parading through town on a bus and being welcomed back w/ open arms. A Vietnam vet boards the bus to congratulate them, and asks if he can sit on their bus for a while (clearly showing the contrast between the welcoming the troops of Desert Storm got compared to the unwelcoming the troops of Vietnam received). That being said, they need to reintroduce the Bronco. They did a concept a while back of a new Bronco which (like the current Mustang) drew off the retro looks of their first generation counterparts. DO want:
  6. You know it! Luckily, the SV has ample engine braking.
  7. So, I took my bike out for a ride today... My girlfriend and I had agreed to feed her grandfather's dogs for him while he was out of town this week, so I decided to take care of that on my ride. He lives about 1.5 down gravel twist backs in the hills off River Rd. I've ridden up there a few times in the past, and my bike handled the terrain fine despite not exactly being built for that kind of riding Anywho, on the way up, I noticed the recent rain had loosened the gravel a bit. On the way down, I figured out just how much So yeah, I dropped my bike. I picked it up, and began inspecting it. Everything looks fine, save for a few scratches on my exhaust can. I swing my leg back over the bike, and something becomes apparent: No front brake... I looked down in the gravel to see the remnants of my brake lever... I ran through my options in my head, which were few and far between, then I decided on riding the rest of the way down the hill to River Rd, then 6mi back to 49, then 4mi over the river and to Ashland City all w/ no front brake, and chanting "Rear brake, rear brake, rear brake!" in my head. I made it, all though it was a little nerve racking... Those who ride know how important their front brake is. The lever that broke was one of the pair of cheesy ass fake carbon fiber ones that came on the bike. I've had a pair of Lockhart Phillips levers I had been meaning to swap out anyway, so when I made it home, I made the swap. That's my excitement of the day, now it's Miller, err.... Shiner Bock time.
  8. I'm predicting Brazil will be taking the gold in kidnapping.
  9. Couldn't imagine they would be... I would think they (and everyone else in the EBR biz) sold the bejeezus out of some product for the 8 months following the election. What I can't explain is how they just HAD to mark up the prices on their lowers after the election, but are some how selling them at $89.95 right now
  10. I'm not entirely educated on the subject but... wouldn't having the Olympics in Rio be kind of like having them in Detroit? You know, if Detroit was tropical and full of beautiful women...
  11. I felt a little robbed too... Meh, it was fun. I'd do it again.
  12. Did your bro end up taking it with him?
  13. I'd agree on the hard to come by aftermarket support for the SigPro line, but the DAO trigger pull on the P250 is miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles long. I can't speak for the 2340, but the SA on my 2022 was fantastic.

    My next gun!

So, what's the typical shop price on one of these bad boys?
  15. Oh, haha... I misinterpreted.
  16. Nah, I'm just a hell of a multitasker Seriously though, can you believe they referenced scientific and medical research data in the product description?!
  17. A buddy of mine had a Bushy that didn't come factory staked. Here's what we did to get it off: 1) Wrapped length of duct tape around the castle nut (to prevent scratching). 2) Used an pair of channel locks to clamp down, twist, and remove. Not sure if that'll work for you or not, but it's worth a shot if you're getting antsy (like my buddy was). He slapped his new sling plate on, but waited for his castle nut wrench before staking the new plate in.
  18. So, my girlfriend wants a nice compact UMPC. I started kind of looking around on ebay when I saw a listing from a seller in China. I read the product description. Hilarity ensued. Link to original listing: 10inch laptop notebook computer Wifi UMPC VIA C7-M mini - eBay (item 320423770363 end time Oct-13-09 07:40:00 PDT)
  19. Have you un-staked the old plate yet? I'd start there.
  20. My condolences. Dogs truly are man's best friend. There's two kinds of people on this planet. Dog owners, and those who are missing out. Losing a canine friend never gets easier... Find happiness in knowing your friend no longer feels any pain, and keep him alive in the 13-1/2 yrs of fond memories.
  21. I bought a Del-Ton upper back last November. My bolt carrier was properly staked (I was suprised myself, haha). I can't speak for the front sight, as I went with a low-pro gas block... looks straight to me I'll probably upgrade the BCG and charging handle sooner or later.
  22. Obviously tongue in cheek. Read their "About Us" and "Propaganda" sections.

    13 Weeks . . .

Speaking of which, does anybody know the status of Force Recon? With the creation of MarSOC for the USMC's integration into SOCOM, I've heard that Force Recon has been stripped. I've also heard that Recon only exists on the Battalion level now. What's up w/ this?
