  1. Wait a minute... you can't be trusted, you work for CSX! Don't you guys stand to make a killing (pun intended) shipping prisoners in by rail when they get this whole gulag thing rolling?!
  2. I love how people have been studying the building of "Gulags" for almost 30yrs now...
  3. That sounds absolutely awesome
  4. Yeah. I'm going at noon on Thurs, so I'm hoping it wont be too crowded.
  5. So, who's going to see Salvation on Thurs?
  6. Excellent post, Mac I don't suppose your going to let us in on what this job of yours is, are you?
  7. I REALLY want to get my hands on that Para... I have yet to read a bad word about it. My only complaint is it doesn't come in stainless.
  8. If Fwdftw doesn't want this, I'll take it! I've got a few AR bits I don't need: Standard trigger guard and the plate that fit's between the receiver and the castle nut for a telescoping stock.
  9. That's one of the slickest setups I've ever seen, crimson
  10. I liked my Glock, but it's beauty was it's function, not it's aesthetics... you just can't polish a turd.

    Building an AK

Yeah, that's about the same figure I came up with. The lacking barrel was kind of a deal breaker... Before that, I was thinking $600 for a quality built AK wasn't too unfair (in the current climate of almost $500 for a WASR). I'm thinking I'll most likely go the Saiga route if decide to go through w/ this project (even though the cheapest 7.62x39 Saiga I've seen so far was $399).

    Building an AK

$150, all matching #'s, but the seller just told me it does not include a barrel...

    For all the Glock Fans

+1 on Hickok's vids. Didn't realize you were in PV, Hickok. Just right down the road from me (Ashland City).

    Building an AK

I wasn't planning on assembling it myself. I've seen some builders offer a service of completely tearing down a rifle, refinishing and rebuilding it to spec for you. I've considered looking for a cheap Romy or Yugo AK and doing that as well.

    Building an AK

So, I'm toying w/ the idea of building an AK. I found a decent deal on a Hungarian AMD-65 kit, and I'm eyeing NoDak Spud receivers. Anybody got any words of wisdom, or recommendations for builders?
  17. Me neither, but there are very few $45 pistols I wouldn't buy
  18. No love for it? Seems very... "Euro"... which seems to be the current trend in the Japanese Sport-Standard market as of late. I mean, check out the Kawasaki Versys if you REALLY want to see a front end that will make you loose your lunch I'm reserving judgment until I can see it/sit on it. I DO like the trellis frame though. I think it'll be interesting to see how it sells. The price point seems to be very fair for what it is, however consider what it is: a radical custom chopper, but mass produced. Aren't those two phrases exclusive? I mean, if that's the type of bike someone is after, wouldn't they be apprehensive to buy one that their next door neighbor could walk right out and buy as well? Like, I said, it'll be interesting...
  19. Does Hi-Point's Lifetime Guarantee cover such a defect? If so, that's a $45 blaster, no?
  20. You guys seen Suzuki's new "Gladius"? Not sure what I think of it yet... Seems like its heavily inspired by MV Augusta's "Brutale". I like the frame a lot better than the 2nd gen SV's, but the headlight is kinda funky...
  21. Awesome, get some pics up Who's building the Krink for you? I've kinda been thinking about getting someone to assemble an AK kit for me, but I have no idea who to ask...
  22. Awesome! Looking forward to pics. What were the stamps for again? 1 for an AR, 1 for an AK, right?
  23. All this Mosin talk reminds me of something I read about Simo Hayha an article on cracked.com The full article: "Real Life Soldiers Who Make Rambo Look Like *****"
  24. Found it: There's a billion versions of this song. All great.
