  1. Oddly enough, the law part was pretty well covered in my class at Unaka Gun Club. Of course I'm a big believer in reading the Code yourself. Interestingly enough, Phantom6 and I are discussing some of the problems with the course in PM. The problem certainly isn't with him. The video they make you watch is out of date on the law and shows bad gun handling - as well as being dull and idiotic. So don't blame the instructors for all of the garbage.
  2. Well, you will be missed. Or maybe that's supposed to be that some people would like to miss me.
  3. Hey! I'm supposed to be the resident grouch here....
  4. Oscar the grouch? Oscar the Oscar Chiclid?
  5. The XD-9 sub was the one I had - that I traded the G26 for. Very nice handgun.
  6. I don't know about SIG. But if I was a betting man..I'd bet that in some point in manufacturing their handguns that someone takes a look at the barrel, slide and frame and decides if custom fitting is needed. Fir a top brand, I'd think that virtually all of their gun assemblies were fitted. But that's just a guess. I know that H&K does not sell replacement barrels in a different caliber. That is, they do not authorize such conversions. That is not to say that this isn't done every day.
  7. There is that one really important point to oil at the right rear of a Glock. It's in the manual. Just thought I'd mention that you should read the manual. BTW, I like Shooter's Choice for a cleaning solution. Do Glocks still come with the cleaning rod and brush? I'm thinking he just needs patches, cleaner and oil.
  8. Date of Birth: 28 October 1967, Atlanta, Georgia, USA Len, there's this new thing called "Google."
  9. Boy, those are the No Trespassing signs from paranoid hell. The signs just strengthen your case if you decide to prosecute someone for trespassing.

    GO TITANS

Who are the Titans? JUST KIDDING!!!!!
  11. Fitting a barrel isn't as mystic as it seems. A little filing hear and there. But you do have to know where to file and remember that you can't add metal back on. I'd take it to a gunsmith.
  12. We've all done that. But I have been able to recoup about half my wasted holster money by sticking it to my friends.....errrrr...I mean offering them deep discounts on my outgrown holsters.

And Glock has a long history. They started in 1963 making curtain rods.

Funny how that works. But a lot of us think un-cockable/de-cockable makes a lot more sense.
  16. .........
  17. If you don't know about Achmed, he's a dead terrorist. He's also damn funny. I Kieeeell You!!! Lots of stuff on Youtube from him (Jeff Dunham). Here's one I enjoyed: [ame]http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2079756157[/ame]
  18. Over the years I've tried a bunch of Kydex and leather holsters. Kydex held a lot of promise because I tended to be in areas where I got wet a lot. But I just never found them comfortable over extended wear and didn't care for the noise they make when un-holstering and re-holstering the weapon - particularly with the cheaper Kydex holsters. So, I have one Kydex holster I keep in the back of the car. It's a paddle holster for short-term use in case I need a holster for the car gun sometime. Other than that, everything is leather except the shoulder holster, and generally they are not expensive holsters. I find Don Hume makes holsters that work just fine at reasonable prices.
  19. Yeah, we've done this topic before. Personally, I ain't filling out no stinkin' paperwork to privately buy a gun from you. If you don't want to sell that way then fine.
  20. Does that make any sense?
  21. In my experience, most bitches are "proud" (desirous of copulation). That's not necessarily bad for us proud sires....
  22. If they would write the laws clearly and simply, this could be a short topic.
  23. OK, now you've done it. I don't care if you joke about my Methodist Christian Roots. In fact some might disagree that Methodists are actually Christians.... But when you start talking about my Scottish heritage, them's fightin' words. And you know how much Scotsmen like to fight.
  24. It's a state law. It applies everywhere in Tennessee. If someone's dog wanders onto your property, or onto public property.like a road, the owner is in violation of state code and has committed a crime. As I recall, there are some provisions for allowing your dog to roam during a hunt, but not just to roam because you don't want to keep your dog under control.
