  1. Damn, talk about old news....
  2. No, it was probably you.
  3. I haven't even heard of it, let alone use it. But it sounds like it could have some application on some "sticky" guns that are not used in colder temperatures. There are a lot of mixtures that have different properties in rapid vs.slow shear situations. Two that come to mind are Silly Putty and a cornstarch & water mixture. This one is apparently a couple of soaps. Probably short-string lipids would be my guess. I'm very critical of claims such as that it will reduce felt recoil. And a new gun super-lube seems to come out every month. I have two of them that you have never heard of on my table next to the computer right now that were sent to me for trial. Both work fine, but then again so do the right quantities of gun oil or gun grease.

    Suggestions Please

There are some people who think 9mm is too small for an effective carry gun. The world is full of people don't have a lot of good sense.

    Suggestions Please

First thing I thought of was a PF9 also. 9mm, DAO and pretty flat. That's a good combination if you want to stay with 9mm.
  6. I think my suggestions have been covered. Lubrication, possible magazine problems and a good break-in. I'm betting the lube would fix it.
  7. Fobus has one. Can't give you the details though.
  8. Yep, any legal handgun.
  9. BTW, I saw on the news that another person had been killed by a "pack of attacking pit bulls."
  10. Yes.......
  11. As I recall, the TV satellites are all roughly over Houston.
  12. I can't see the problem either. The law has nothing to do with people running away from you. It just says that if you are in your home and anyone breaks in, you can assume they are there to harm you and so you can protect yourself with deadly force. This is not a complex concept.
  13. Uh, that doesn't sound like a lot of fun.
  14. As I understand it, it will be HD, but not pay service only.
  15. I'll bet it's fake. The projectiles just don't look right. But it's priceless anyway! [edit] Closer examination show the first projectile track is way above the guy "hit".
  16. I'm sorry, it is being called a "short frame". My mistake. 13 round. It has a shorter grip size (back to front). Since I don't care for 45s in polymer (so far) I can't tell you much more. I've seen and held it, but never shot it.
  17. My place has both Dish and DTV dishes on the house. I've been to lazy/busy to remove them. The extra channels got to re-running crap all the time and got worse and worse. I also had a growing tree with Dish that getting to be a problem. I finally disconnected all of them and put a BIG antenna, rotor, and amp up on the ridge. Lots of good stuff from three states and the cost per month is... --- ...ZERO. Of course everyone doesn't own a ridge top, so YMMV.
  18. Looks like the next shoot will be in Oak Ridge. Welcome to TGO!
  19. The SF is "Slim Frame" I know someone locally who carries one all the time - Israeli style.

    G-19 or XD 9

I like plastic triggers --- as long as the plastic encases a metal trigger (as in the USP).
  21. Back at least as early as the Civil War, explosive rounds existed. They weren't used a lot. The timing was tricky and there is one example I know of the shooter getting hit in his cartridge box and the rounds going off on his side. Messy.... But again, the military uses FMJs because they make sense for the application. This HP thing comes up fairly often. Just have to beat it with a stick to make it go away. Perfectly understandable confusion.
  22. OK, sorry I misread you Mike. It just seemed like you had a hard time justifying coming to Kingsport when other local TGO members didn't make it.

    G-19 or XD 9

Whatever I have is, of course, what you should get. Of course I no longer own either a Glock or an XD. I'm big these days on handguns that can be cocked, de-cocked, and re-cocked and shoot SA/DA. But if you have to have a Glock-like gun, I'd go with the XD. Personal choice. I've had both and much preferred the XD. If you learn to re-holster it properly, the grip safety adds a level of additional safety.
  24. Nah, just shoot it. The only gun I did a special break-in routine was my Remington 700 VS, that is my accuracy toy. Unless you want and have a sniper-type rifle, I don't see a need for special break-in stuff. I would give it a good cleaning first, just to remove any huge burrs and the dust-bunnies.
  25. Glad to hear that. Sounds like you got a good one. They may have done some design change to aid reliability since the ones I knew about several years ago. Have fun with it.
