    Its on the way!!

I can't disagree with that, although Chip McCormicks are OK too.
  2. Hi Tim. Glad you made it! BTW, did you hear that your August TFA speaker is in a bit of hot water over his dog fighting vote? http://www.timesnews.net/article.php?id=9002422
  3. Not me and except for a few situations I couldn't control, I refuse to wear them. But I would if I was a LEO. When you are the point of the spear in a very public life, you can't control your situation very well. I'm not sure that the $175 wouldn't be better spent on sending my kid to a school of instruction that would teach them other ways to avoid becoming victims. I really doubt that a Level II bullet resistant backpack would have made a difference in any of the school shootings.
  4. Yeah, but if some of those Democrat seats become Republican seats, Naifeh doesn't end up as Speaker. I know Memphis is a lost cause, but it seems like some of those other House seats should be more competitive.
  5. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I keep preaching this. Actually, I find concealablity is enhanced primarily by flatness more than just width.
  7. Or elect enough new folks who won't vote for him as Speaker.
  8. Well, I've been in a number of places around the world drinking where I would have been a fool to have not had a loaded gun.... I'm sorry but this is getting too PC for me to not comment. Fact is there are states where you can drink and pack, and as far as I know there have not been huge numbers of bars where the blood has flowed over the counter because of it. It seems to largely be an imaginary problem, and the people who would make it a real problem will just ignore the law anyway. But legal bar carry ain't gonna happen in Bible Belt Tennessee. If you west and middle Tennessee folks don't quit voting for Democrats, it ain't gonna happen in Tennessee restaurants either. I've never actually witnessed a gunfight in a bar. I did walk into a bar in Raleigh back in the 70's that had a guy lying on the floor bleeding. He didn't get shot by another patron. Someone walked in off the street, probably perfectly sober, who had it in for him and shot him. I think that was illegal back then.

You haven't dated in a long time - have you? I'll try to let the Glock reference pass.

Sounds like a really good guy, Len. Wish I lived closer to give him some business. Hard to believe you have made it this long without a 1911! That's a design that every American gun owner should have at some time during their life. Congratulations!
  11. I put together a map and driving directions for someone here in my area. Maybe this will help someone else. There are a couple of ways my mapping program suggested. Maybe Phantom can tell us if one way is better than the other. Both routes start on I-40 just east of the Pellissippi Parkway.
  12. Just messing with you. Devil made me do that post.
  13. Yeah. Now if we could just get him to concealed carry.....
  14. That would make you look like a striking coal miner.
  15. Why not just call HR and tell them someone is at the door?
  16. How about a bouncer?
  17. I'd want to make sure it was understood that I would be "protecting persons or property." Sounds like this was intended for guards to me.
  18. Yeah, I use walnut hull and corn cob. That is I will if my wife ever gives me back my tumbler. She uses it for jewelry.
  19. I hear, from a pretty reliable source, that Glock is seriously working on bringing out a sub-gun. That could be...interesting. More than just a rumor this time. I won't carry any gun, rifle or handgun, without a round in the chamber. For a rifle, I may use the selector though.
  20. My feeling is that the melting ice makes enough water to take the edge off of Scotch. My brother got me drinking Scotch. He'd take it to parties when he was at Ga Tech. He said that what he didn't drink would come back with him. Only problem I found with Scotch is that drinking it on the rocks made me drink two doubles while everyone else was having one single something else. But I never minded drinking four times as much as other people. I do like other stuff too. Whiskey and ginger was always a standard. One summer when I was working at Nags Head, I met a bartender whose name was Ginger. So I had to go by every night and get her to make me a JD and ginger - with a solid (not striped) swizzle stick. In terms of fruited Scotches, I like Drambuie. That's about it. If it's too cheap to drink without being fixed, I can settle for a beer.
  21. Whatever you like is what you should have. But when the SHTF, sometimes you can forget to do something - like remove the safety. I've evolved over the years into liking no manual safety. Even converted my USP to variant 3 - de-cocker but no manual safety. I want my handguns to always be capable of firing. But I also want handguns that are unlikely to fire just because I get a brain fart.
  22. I hate to answer that because for a lot of Scotch snobs, it makes me look like a redneck. I actually like Chivas. But hey, Hunter Thompson liked it too. It has what I can only describe as a soapy taste that I really like. My brother was always fond of Johnny Walker. But I'm not saying I'd turn down a good single malt. I've been to several of the Highland distilleries. But it has to be on the rocks and no extra anything added to it. Scotch and soda is an abomination. Why not just drink pee?
  23. I notice that i-Caught on ABC tonight is doing a segment about the DEA guy who shot himself in front of the kids in the classroom. You know - the only person in the room professional enough to handle his Glock. I understand his excuse is that he is required to be in possession of a loaded weapon. So am I, but I try not to shoot myself with it.
  24. I've been gone for a couple of days on business. Just got back. I prefer Scotch on the rocks to Oreos.
