I'm boycotting boycotts.

Just don't make a salad of anything you find growing there.

As I've said, I'm not a big Randy Weaver fan, but I suspect this is exactly what happened. The ATF wanted to use him as a snitch and when he wouldn't do it they set him up. Unlike most folks though, he didn't give in. That does say something about his integrity.

Hi Roscoe. Somehow I missed your introduction until now. Welcome to the board. The Glock comment is probably a jab at me.

Re the permit revocation: The one that bothers me is Poses a material likelihood of risk of harm to the public. Who decides this and upon what basis?

Oh, I was probably 12 when I did that. But is does sound like fun for the next time I have friends out with lots of beer.

I seriously considered getting a special doorbell at one time that will record and play back whatever you want. What I had in mind was the ding-dong, a pause of a couple of seconds, and then the sound of a shotgun racking. I finally decided that the cost was too much for a joke.

I always used an ax to smack the primers.

Good deal Fallguy. I knew Steve McDaniel before he became a rep.Seemed like a good guy. I talked to Ron Ramsey the other day and mentioned the AG's opinion on parks. Apparently several people have questioned it. Basically there is nothing to be done right now until we get another AG. And the Senate will continue to pass good new gun laws, but you may as well expect the House to continue to kill them until some way is found to get rid of Darth Naifeh.

That's my view. I kept a loaded shotgun handy for years and finally bought a "tactical" shotgun several years ago. After playing with it for a while and thinking the situation through, I sold the shotgun. There are still a couple of them handy, but they are regular old shotguns. As barricade weapons, they are a good choice. Not so good for house clearing. And over the years all of my firearms have lost the light mounted on them. I still have lights, but they are hand-held. Keep us up on your research.

There are advantages in a carry gun for a little longer and heavier trigger pull. But if you are going to use it as a plinker, you may want something lighter. You really just need to play with both for a while. I went from a Glock to the XD, but felt less comfortable with it as time passed. But I've played with but never shot a baby eagle. It felt good in my hand. I personally would be more likely to go with the beagle these days. Really, there are a number of decent handguns in that price range, particularly if you don't get in a hurry and look for a used gun.

The way I do it is to host the pictures at flickr then click on the little picture icon on the reply page and paste in the url there. I've never used the boards storage. You may have to be here a little while before using it. I don't know.

Post number 30 in this topic has it.

And federal law allows a juvenile to posses a handgun with their parent's written permission for, among other things, "ranching, farming, target practice or hunting". And so does Tennessee law.

I wonder how they would have done with wooden woods. Not too well, in comparison I suspect. The better question is what Bobby Jones would have done with modern clubs. BTW, it is an exceptional film in Dolby 5.1.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7_R54WtOo4[/ame] Augusta by Dave Loggins: Well, it's springtime in the valley on Magnolia Lane It's the Augusta National and the master of the game Who'll wear that green coat on Sunday afternoon? Who'll walk the 18th fairway singing this tune? Augusta, your dogwoods and pines They play on my mind like a song Augusta, it's you that I love And it's you that I'll miss when I'm gone. It's Watson, Byron Nelson, Demaret, Player and Snead It's Amen Corner and it's Hogan's perfect swing It's Sarazen's double eagle at the 15 in '35 And the spirit of Clifford Roberts that keeps it alive Augusta, your dogwoods and pines They play on my mind like a song Augusta, it's you that I love And it's you that I miss when I'm gone. It's the legions of Arnie's Army and the Golden Bear's throngs And the wooden-shafted legend of Bobby Jones. Dave Loggins is a local boy out of Mountain City, TN. He's a cousin of Kenny (from Bristol). But the point of this post is about the guy who designed the Master course at Augusta, Georgia - Bobby Jones. Reason I mention this is that my mother worked for Bobby Jones, the most famous golf amateur in history. Mr. Jones, as my mother always referred to him, was a title lawyer in Atlanta, as well as a famous golfer. She went to work for the firm at age 16. They didn't know she was that young or they would not have hired her. She is in a nursing home these days, but she always claimed that this printing block was of Mr. Jones. In case you are interested in finding out more about Bobby Jones, find a video store that has the movie Bobby Jones: Stroke Of Genius. Or check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Jones_%28golfer%29

The Great Tennessee Air Show 2008 at Smyrna Airport
Marswolf replied to Urse's topic in Events and Gatherings
We haven't had an air show over here in a while. They are always a lot of fun to watch. -
The XD is a good gun, but I always have to recommend the pistol that can be de-cocked and re-cocked. It gives you a lot more safe carry options.
-
What I find is that a flat-sided gun works best for concealed carry. Open carry; who cares. My conclusions after years of carry are flat sided, ability to de-cock and re-cock or DAO. Hammer preferred.

God, we have had this question so many times. Voldemort, I'm not really getting after you, but if you have searched TCA and not found a provision proscribing it, then why still think that there is one? And why ignore the fact that most government buildings are also not in the code? The way law works is that if it doesn't say you can't do something, then you can do it. Sorry, this just seems to come up twice a week.

That's my thought. Chunking them, I mean. I guess that is highly irresponsible but the brass has little mass to cause a problem (unlike the bullet) and so the bullet is going to sit there, just in case a sanitation guy decides to set fire to his truck.
-
But can I trade it for an Xbox 360?

I'm sure the folks in Nashville will be happy to not hear from you.
