  1. Supposedly, the nicotine is gone after about five days. I haven't researched it. So the problem is psychological? I know I had cravings for the coffin nails for about 10years. I occasionally gave in if there was a girl involved.
  2. I also find the 40 S&W snappier. And I find the 9mm more accurate. But that's probably to be expected. Still, I carry a USP 40 for open urban use and 92SB Beretta (9mm) for field use outside of urban areas. Also a 9mm H&K P7M8 for concealed urban carry. Backup is a P3AT. I have never carried 45 ACP, but that is a good choice for commies coming over the berm. It will pass for urban use too, But I prefer the 40.
  3. They are neither brand new or a liar. They also have political connections - as do I. And I confirmed it with a couple of my local state politicians that you HAVE heard about. You need to check your facts before making accusations.
  4. Alan Keyes exits GOP! April 16, 2008 HAZLETON, Penn. — On Tuesday, former Republican presidential candidate Alan Keyes officially announced his split with the Republican Party, at a press conference held in Hazleton, PA. Saying the Republican Party "has become a dark and confusing place," and "there are clear signs that our leaders no longer have an allegiance to the sovereign people of the United States," Keyes added that he is considering running for president on the Constitution Party ticket in the 2008 general election. The city of Hazleton made news for taking a firm stand against illegal immigration when it passed the Illegal Immigration Relief Act in 2006. A life-long Republican, Keyes was a diplomat in the Reagan administration who served as Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations, Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and staff member of the National Security Council. 5. Anyone shoot Bernardelli? I have no idea why I have it. I assume it was a gift, probably of the importer. All embroidered with silver sort-of scrambled eggs on the brim and the Bernardelli name on both sides. It's a very nice cap. Lots of class. This can be a pay-it forward item. I'll pay shipping and all. It goes to the first one to PM me with the following stipulations. It goes to Bernardelli owners (tell me you own one) first who have posted in this thread prior to this post and if there are no owners, then it goes to the first one who is not an owners but who has posted here.
  6. No doubt about that. I've been wrong several times on this and other boards. I always find the best way to handle that is to fess up. It really confounds your enemies.
  7. Good luck finding that, because you are wrong. Why does this misinformation keep coming up?
  8. And Sylvia will soon be able to vote.
  9. Have fun guys. Intellicast says the thunderstorms will end around 10 AM and it will be mostly cloudy until 4 PM when there will be a few showers. Temps around 60 degrees.
  10. I don't want to sound like an FN basher. I think their products are right up there very close to H&K. Not quite there,.but close. But who in their right mind keeps up with sales receipts? Not me. Forget it and I'm about as professional as it comes. Warranties from reputable companies should be for life. IMO.Whoever is the current owner. Less than that is an indication of an expectation of failure.
  11. I stand corrected. You may wear the special underwear.
  12. Ron Paul is a freakin'' nut. That's why he died out quickly. Hey, the truth sometimes hurts.
  13. I thought you had to be Mormon to have special underwear.
  14. How about one round of a problem in 20+ years with a Beretta 92 SB with ammo that I knew was too hot? Guns should be reliable if you trust your life to it. BTW I still carry the Beretta in the field.
  15. OOOOO. I'm a Super Moderator on a gun board. The force is with me. Beware all of you Super-Masons --- Beware.
  16. So he needs my sales receipt?
  17. Getting in touch with your Rep is a really good idea. While again I hate to say this, getting in touch with Harris seems an exercise in pointlessness. Legislators just don;t seem to even know who he is. That's pretty just damn useless. He is the "voice" and "presence" of the TFA but legislators say they have never heard of him. Fooled me once ?
  18. In short, you choose to use your intelligence? Good move.
  19. A Methodist Pope? That is beyond even my capabilities to understand. Hey, anyone want to play strip poker with the kids?
  20. My point here is not to "bash" TFA (and beside it's not bashing if it is true). My point is that TFA has failed to do the job and it's time to put into the grave where it belongs and move on to a viable group. No point to pay, as my friend said, "a lawyer in Nashville who takes your money" if nothing comes of it.
  21. I think I need to address this - once. I don't dislike anyone because they are a Mason. I don't like anyone because they are a Mason. I thought I had made it clear that I have friends who are Masons and that they have tried to get me to join. I don't like or dislike anyone because they are in the local Masonic, Moose or Elk's Lodge. As far as I am concerned, they are all social clubs with some really silly secret goodies, sort of like fraternities, which are great if you are 18. When you grow up, you should do adult things. But adults do childish things all the time. I count myself proudly among those folks. The only problem I have with any of these groups is if they start to look down on folks who are not members and make social and business decisions base on who is a member and who is not.... If I find an elitist group like that, I don't join them and I openly oppose them. Un-intelligence offends me. Sorry. People who join any group because they think it somehow makes them special sicken me and degrade them in terms of my view of their intelligence. But then, I tend to be an individualist who judges everyone based on their intelligence and analytic capability. Basically, group membership doesn't matter unless the members think that membership makes them somehow "special." If you believe that, you aren't just a member, you are also foolish.
  22. Heh, heh. With age, does not always come wisdom. Sometimes it is atrophy. I'm not going to pretend that I'm not smart - and experienced - but I don't joust with unworthy opponents. and I'm absolutely not an elitist or snob. I was trying to give a concrete example of why voting on principle is not always the best move. I have done the same with not necessarily bad results. I voted for Perot the second time he ran because I considered both major candidates to be repugnant. But I pick my races to make a point. You don't reasonably sink the ship to make a point, as the Nader folks in Florida did. But in my case, I'm glad they were stupid.
  23. I'll look for and post the instructions if you like Magiccarpetrides.
  24. I can tell you how to hide your bat collection so even the dead bat dogs can't find them!
  25. I'll have to try that sometime.
