  1. You know folks in Kansas can't tell a tornado from their butt. <we have got to come up with a bunker emoticon>

I bought one just as FN was releasing them to the public. Mine came with the letter you were supposed to send in showing that you were LE or military. Very good handgun. Quite manageable and a good penetrating round. But it just didn't fit in with what I needed, so it found another home.
  3. Has anyone posted about the Magpul folder?
  4. Well, we are in the calm between the storms. The second wave is about to hit. Just had a tornado watch issued for my county a few seconds ago. Actually, tornadoes are rare here. Famous last words. The temperature is going up. 67 degrees now. I'm waiting for Dorothy and Toto to fly by.
  5. Oh my. I had to watch it a bunch of times to analyze it. Yeah, that's what I was doing - analyzing.
  6. Looks like areas west are getting the snow. Still raining like a MF here. Then we are supposed to get a break for a while followed by possible tornadoes. We are right on the edge of a tornado watch. Temp has been 62 degrees since I got up, although we are officially at 57.2 right now. I understand that will change. We are also in a wind advisory area. In short, this is technically called a yucky day. If you are out fishing in this, you are both dedicated and dumb.
  7. Fixed.
  8. Today we are getting rain.
  9. Yep, WD-40 is definitely not CLP. As I've said before, I don't let closer than 20 feet from my firearms.
  10. I'll tell you, Obama's Black preacher style of speaking irritates me as much as Ms Clinton. He reminds me more of the reverend Jackson every day.
  11. Yep, let's move the discussion to the other thread.
  12. I'd start with the lower powder amount. You want to end up around 2900 - 3000 fps. The slower figure is more accurate, but 3000 fps is recommended for hunting. Part of that result depends on the powder and part on your reloading technique. Different powders produce different results, of course. I like IMR-4350. That would be about 67.8 grains. The only way to find out which does better for you is to try them. If you have a ballistic chronograph, I'd use it to get the speed right and then play with stuff like seating depth and powder type to get the accuracy where it should be. But all of my experience in 308 is with 168 gr moly coated MatchKings.
  13. Kinky....
  14. As you may know, that weekend is also the Bristol NASCAR race weekend. My neighbor with the silos would have let us do the shoot at his place as long as his son would be there too. Unfortunately, said son is going to the race. So, I'm striking out big-time so far.
  15. Absolutely correct. But for 99% of them, they are just paranoid and wrong
  16. I was hoping to be subtle.
  17. Hey....Vegas is SEVEN days a week.
  18. Assuming something doesn't come up and I'm in Colombia (I'll let you know) I'll probably be the one in either the H&K LE division cap or the MACV cap (the young and handsome one). If I'm not there immediately, tell Earl that I'm bringing the Mossberg 500 stuff. Hell, you might as well be good for something. Wednesday 9:30 a.m.; Bristol Mall. BTW, any other TGO members are welcome too. You don't have to be a vet, or even a conservative. We have other tables we can send you to.
  19. I'd start a topic, "ARE YOU PARANOID". But of course the folks who are, would either not know or they would be too afraid to answer.
  20. I must admit that is a truly excellent post.
  21. Folks, you ever hear of keeping one in the bed stand drawer? You don't have to go crazy with this unless you are a drug dealer or someone known to keep lots of money under the mattress.
  22. Hell no I don't still own one. I learn from my mistakes. I don't own Lorcins either (not that I ever owned one of those). I was just mentioning the ones I won't buy for political reasons. I didn't list the ones I won't buy because I don't want them blowing up on me. Did I mention that Glocks are sorta OK for LEOs but crap for anyone else?
  23. I played yankee a couple of times. Once when it was my event at a state historic site I was putting on and once when I got tired of being pretend infantry and decided to help a friend who needed someone for his field piece. I'm putting my reenacting stuff up for sale. Haven't done anything with it in three years. There goes my BP stuff.
  24. We have walkers and one guy in a scooter. I can run if I have to. I just show up when they aren't expecting me. Food court - just look for the dinosaurs in the military caps. If you come in from the entrance nearest Kroger - near Sears, go up the ramp and stay left, past the Subway and cookie place. First table, next to the cell phone kiosk is us. If I ain't there, tell them that Shannon sent you. Do wear your handgun. We don't want to protect you.
