1. Chris Kyle did not start these wars. He was there because of his love for his country. Debating the merits of the wars is one thing but those that serve and have served are not the problem. Ron should have tipped his hat for a great American instead of trying to make a political point. Protecting Americas interest is a global job. Never in our history has what is happening in other parts of the world had as much affect on the U.S. as it does now. Commerce is world wide now more than ever. One could argue to much, but the facts are protecting our interest no longer and probably never will stop at our borders again. We can debate why this is and try reverse some of the need to do business with other countries but we are a long way from that happening.
2. I have not seen this mentioned here.  Just wondering what the Ron Paul fans thought of his comments on twitter about Chris Kyle.     Ron Paul✔@RonPaul Chris Kyle's death seems to confirm that "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword." Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn't make sense
3. Thanks for the "thoughtful" responses. I was just wondering if others had, I did not say I was planning on shooting with out my ears on. When I go to the indoor range I use double protection because it is so loud. It is a shock even with ears on.
4. Do any of you practice with out hearing protection on? I guess I am thinking in a bad citation I probably will not have time to gear up. (Middle of the night glass breaking) Will the shock of hearing a gun going off without ears on be disconcerting? I know I try to practice as close to the real thing as possible but have never practice to see what live fire would sound like.
5. I am not sure an individual being able to do background checks is the answer. I know people that work at busy gun stores and they tell me the system is not that great. Many are rejected by mistake and the buyer then has to go through a disputing process to get his name cleared. I also know someone that transposed his SS # and got approved. It may stop some people from buying directly. But if someone is determined to buy a gun they will find a way.

8. As I have gotten older my eyes continue to get worse all the time. A few months ago my eye doc suggested mono vision contacts. That is one eye has a contact for up close and the other eye is for distance. After a few days the brain figured it out and so when reading my up close eye is dominate and when looking at a distance the eye with the distance contact is dominate. You may know where I am going with this. When sighting a target I understood it is best to keep both eyes open. Well that messes me up bad. If the target is clear the sights are blurry if the sights are clear the target is blurry. I currently have gotten hand guns with larger sites Glock gen 3 and up work best at this time. My question is does anybody else have any experience with this kind of contact set up and how did you handle it and what have you found that works best? Sorry for the wordy post I just could not explain this quickly.
9.
Didn't out of control government spending really take off under Reagan as well?
It is one thing to spend more when there is more coming in; it is another to spend more when less is coming in. Reagan’s push for lower taxes certainly brought more in. Unlike Obama whose policies have not increased revenue to the treasury, but he wants to spend like it has. I cannot remember a Democrat and very few Republicans pushing for responsible spending. Reagan was certainly one of them, Newt was and how is he remembered? The problem is the Government does not know how to tighten its belt, it only knows how to spend uncontrollably and anybody that pushes getting that under control is labeled a freak. IE Ron Paul and Ross Perot. How many Democrats have submitted balanced budget proposals? The Republicans may not be a lot better about this but they are clearly better.
10.
If so good for them. Maybe if I owned a business in New York I could attract more patrons by putting up a sign telling Romney voters to go elsewhere. Somehow I think your opinions of that business would be similar to my opinions of this gunstore.
I would not shop there, that is as far as my opinion would take me. I would still respect his right to be stupid.
11.
No one is disputing that. The point is, to shut off all business to anyone who voted for a different candidate is a stupid business move and is pretty childish to boot.
My guess is his business has done very well since putting up the sign.
12. I was not saying that selling to an Obama supporter is bad business. I have met some folks over the years that I know would be more trouble than they are worth and have choosen not to do business with that person. It's the fact that as a free person I can make the call not to offer my services to someone regardless of the reason.
13. As a business owner I often choose not to offer our services to some people. That is what is great about living in a free country. We can still choose not to do business with someone. We usually are refusing to buy from someone but it is also refusing to sell to someone. Over the years I have learned a lesson. Bad business is worse than no business. We do not have to subject ourselves to people we do not want to associate with. At the same time no Obama voter has to shop with these guys. It’s still a free country go somewhere else.
14. Gotta love these guys. http://dailycaller.com/2012/11/17/arizona-gun-shop-tells-obama-voters-to-turn-around-and-leave-because-they-arent-responsible/
15. The message of this election should have been “it’s the economy stupid” By making a few dumb comments, and letting your enemies control the debates the message was lost never to be seen again. (Remember the debate moderators. The country is on fire and they want to know about gay marriage) the margin of error for Rebubs is little to none. Any mistake or misspoken word is major news while Biden cannot keep is foot out of his month with no coverage at all. All Rebubs response to the abortion issue should have been “I have the same position as the President”, thus removing it from the debate. By allowing the major issues to be social they lost the fiscal responsibility edge that should have led to an over whelming win.
Fair disclosure, that joke has been around for a good while. - OS
Seemed like an appropriate time to bring it back out.
17. Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel , "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land". Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced) Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land." Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land! I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc .... I called a Suicide Hotline. I had to press 1 for English. I was connected to a call center in Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal. 18.
You're a very sad example of an individual to assume that I can't articulate myself or support my stance because my response wasn't within the time frame your expected. I would challenge you in a game of wit, but clearly you're unarmed.
After reading your posts I am reminded of and old proverb. " sometimes it is best to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".
19.
What has happened is that it was given out to some, those who really needed it. And it slowly went from the poor needy people who are actually in need to those who don't need it but just want it and are willing to lie to get it. It is the entitlement generation that believes they are entitled to the prosperity of those who worked hard before them. I have actually heard one of them say that someone else worked really hard so they didn't have to. There are several things that need to be done to weed out the fat. First, require them to take a drug test when they apply and then at least once annually. If you are so poor you need public money then the public has a right to ensure that money is not supporting illegal activities. 1st offense you lose the funds for one month. Next time is six months. A third time would remove you from the rolls indefinitely. Second, they need to require them to perform some sort of public service. I know our highways could use a good cleaning of litter. Paint or clean up buildings or empty lots in their neighborhoods. Or maybe answer the phone of a government office to answer the most common question of all "Are you open". Third, publish a by name list of those who receive public assistance. Nothing more than a name and the town in which they live. People should be embarrased to receive public money in lieu of working. Fourth, get rid of the automatic renewal system. Make the recipients come down to have their cards refilled and maybe take a drug test. And remove the ability to get unhealthy foods when using public funds. I was in a fast food restaurant the other day that accepted EBT cards. Fifth, set a lifetime limit of say 4 years. That is you can only receive 48 months of public assistance during your life. If you choose to use it while you are 18-22 then you can never get it again. Everyone gets to a point in their life in which they could apply for governement assistance. And that is what it is for and not for those who receive it their entire lives and enver work. And finally, require an ID proving citizenship in order to receive anything. If you are not here legally you get NOTHING. Dolomite
I think the major problem with the way government is currently set up is it operates upside down. Saving money and operating efficiently is not only discouraged but not expected and punished. The higher your budget the more power you have. If you create red tape to increase cost and raise expenses you get a budget increase and more people groveling at your feet i.e. power. Increasing the people receiving the benefits is job security. The more you spend the more you get to spend. That is upside down from the way it should be. Until our government employees become motivated to save our money it will continue to get worse. We can raise the standards, make it harder to get the freebies but until those giving out the benefits become motivated not to waste our money they will continue to slip people through that should not be. These agencies should be rewarded as much for what the do not spend as they currently get for spending it all and more. Surely someone can come up with a compensation package that would encourage our government agencies to operate more efficiently and still allow those that need a service to get it.
20. Ultimately our elected members of congress will vote along party lines on major bills. Voting for the person not the party sounds good but will usually mean the party with the most members will have enough votes to pass the big bills. I have struggled with this with the RINOS. The Tea Party putting the heat on the RINOS with primary challengers have really helped a lot. I think it is best to change the party that is closest to your values for the better rather than to abandon them for a third party that may leave the party further from your values in power. What would our country look like if Ross Perot had not taken a bunch of votes from George Bush Sr. We would not have had Bill Clinton for 8 years, I was no fan of Sr. but his values where much closer to mine than Clintons. Ross Perot left no lasting movement that has grown stronger over the years. He was not the beginning of anything, all he did was assist Bill Clinton to the win.

23. Thomas Road Baptist Church claims to have helped many people leave the Gay lifestyle. Granted I took their word for it, why lie about such a thing. Maybe I should make them prove it to me. Granted I do not know the answer to these questions but maybe others have and idea. If a person is attracted to the same sex are they never attracted to the opposite sex? If a person is in a same sex relationship does that mean there is nobody of the opposite sex that can fulfill their needs in the same way? I know someone that had a hard time dating women he finally got married and a week later she divorced him. The experience was so bad he gave up trying to find a woman and now lives a gay lifestyle. I new this guy well and I do not believe he was always gay. I will not give his name out so those that do not believe this will just have to take my word for or do not believe it. I can see that some people have tendencies one way or the other I can also see that some because of things that happened in their life have made the choice. The point originally of the post was that there are so few gays why make such a big deal out of things they want when so few are affected. My point was that if all gays have no choice about it they should be offered the same opportunities everybody else has. If it is a life style choice then I do not think they should be offered the same opportunities. Many times you hear equating the gay movement with the civil rights movement and the woman’s movement. I do not see the correlation of those movements if many gays have chosen that life as compared to being born that way
24. I was not trying to prove anything, believe or do not believe what you want.
25. If I told you there are some larger Churches that offer not only services that help people that want to get out of a gay lifestyle but also help with other issues like sex addiction, drug addiction and devorce recovery how much info do I need to supply to reach the "accepted standard". Do you want the names of the Churches, leadership of the ministry? What could I tell you that would make you believe me. If I read something I do not know if it is true or not, then I research it myself before running my month about it. I would perfer you not to take my word for it, find out for yourself.
