Official TGO "Look what I did to my finger" Thread *GRAPHIC*
45guy replied to BrasilNuts's topic in General Chat
Took the end of my thumb off with a meat cleaver many years ago. Still hurts sometimes and the finger nail is so tough it is hard to clip. 15 years cutting meat, I have a lot of scares to prove the pain but no pics, sorry. -
I think in part because a Glock is not as expensive to own. A lot of available upgrades/replacement parts that are not as expensive as some. Mags. are a lot less expensive. So the risk of buying a used Glock that cannot be repaired inexpensively/upgraded is much lower. And by the way I shoot my 2 Glocks as well as any gun I own.

I have the PPQ in 40 cal. Great gun. My only complaint is the cost of mags. I haven't looked in a while but for a long time they could not be found anywhere. I finally picked 2 up and paid $50.00 plus each. Best out of the box trigger I have ever seen.

I was lucky with the ammo, I picked up a case of 10 bricks back when they were 7cents each. My daughter loves doing anything with our guns. She helps me with ammo inventory, safe organizing and such. I just reorganized my office and made room for a work bench. I will start showing her about breaking down and cleaning her gun. We have some work to do on our range, maybe after we get that done tomorrow we will shoot some.

A Jack Russell, it does not matter how big the GH is a Jack Russell will take on a bear. Had one that disappeared one time, if he died in a GH hole he died a happy dog.

I don' know about you all but I found the first half of that video a bit erotic.

Not only that but it will show up as an accident on a carfax. I have a high deductible policy and if something like this happens I just pay to get it fixed without turning it in to insurance or using a police report. I sold a car a few months ago that someone had tapped me at a stop light. Their insurance paid to have it fixed. 300.00 paint job, but when I went to sell the car it showed up on a car fax as a rear end wreak. That cost me more than having it fixed myself.

Still there. She is 10 by the way.

I bought a air soft pistol for my daughter last year to teach her the firearms fundamentals. She liked it and did well with the safety concerns so I picked her up a SR22 this week off Arms List. The first shot was dead center from 15 ft. You could not wipe the smile off her face. After the first mag. she said " wow that was fun" we spent the next half hour working on stance and the trigger reset. She is hooked.

You tube worked for me. I pick up a lot more by watching than reading. You can learn more than you need to know in just a few videos.

Food prices have been on the rise for the last couple of years. Meat is usually the most expensive items. I like other shop at SAMs. Not just for price but all they sell is "choice" beef. Most everybody else sells a grade below which is "select" beef. So SAMs is less expensive and sell better quality than most other stores. Walmart does not cut meat at their stores so theirs is injected with a saline solution(salt water) to preserve the meat for transport. You are paying for salt water. One of the things you can do to help save some money. If you use ground beef look for sales on roast or whole primales that can be ground. I used to buy whole sirloin tips for $1.49 an pound and have them ground to use for ground beef. They are at lest 90 present lean and with the help of a small home scale I can package it for what we need it for. SAMs will not grind them for you but everybody else will. Chuck roast, shoulder roast make good ground beef. Look for the sales and buy. Ingles has roast on sell this week you can save 50 to 75 cent a pound by have it ground up.

I love mine, broke it in as recommended by others and it is a lot of fun to shoot.

I get hit up all the time with the latest, "been big in Europe for years, just making it to the US" great program. I have developed a good response to those folks. I tell them "I will let you be the guinea pig on this. If a year from now you are still in it I will take a closer look at your program." This takes care of a couple of things. 1. You are not saying no, I am all for people trying to better their life and I do not want to discourage them. 2.I have yet to hear back from anybody a year later. Most do not stay in those programs that long. No to a MLM'er just means you need more information. So you will continue to hear more about it. Just something that works for me.

On the way to the beach one year in NC we passed a sign the was placed a little before an exit ramp that said "drug enforcement stop ahead" there was not one but they would pull you over if you took the exit. I pity the guy that just needed to take that exit for another reason. You never know what they are trying to accomplish with these signs.

Been borderline for several years now. I have stopped(er,cutback) eating anything white. Pasta, bread, chips, crackers and so on, all the good stuff. Carbs turn to sugar and park right around the belly. I work out regular and also take cinnamon, 1000mg. So far I have been able to stay off the meds. My wake up was when the doc said your options are diet and exercise or a shot every day. Easy call for me. Look up sermorelin on YouTube. There is a doc explaining how it works. I have been taking it for almost a year. I am 53, 6ft2 and weigh 204.

I do not feel attacked. I do not choose a car based on its color, I could care less. For some reason when I pick out my clothes it does not occur to me what statement I am making or a desire to express myself. It is usually based on weather and what I am doing for the day. If you asked those that I do business with they would tell you that I run my business how I see fit, I have been called a rebel by some. If you think looking different is an advantage you are seriously mistaken. If you are successful it is because of what you do not because you look different. If one follows someone in part or because they look different I would say they are following for the wrong reason. If one thinks because they look different they are leadership material I wonder why you do not see any Fortune 500 CEO's with body piercing and spiked hear. No need to try and rationalize your look. You have every right to look however you want and I have the right to think some look like a freak show. I think children that are born left handed and someone choosing to have a certain look are two completely different things, unless you were born with all those body modifications.

The point that I am making is that it is dangerous to judge a person, much less an entire generation on a brief cut clip of a single moment. You might be seeing a person at their best, or their worst.
I never said I was judging someone by a brief clip. More like years of seeing a steady downward spiral. Can't really see how body piercings and such is a form of expression but it's your body can do what you want with it. Glad we still live in a country that we are free to do such things.
-
I did not live in the south when I was a teenager. I guess we all assume stereotypes. It may have started in the 70's but it sure was not as popular as it now. I wonder if you had a different home life if you would have wanted to mutilate your body the way you do/did. We all have challenges in life. My home life growing up was far from what I consider normal. We can allow our past to drag us down or we can us it as motivation to make sure the abuse does not get passed on to our children. It is good to hear about the relationship with your daughter.

I sure long for the day when what one does in ones bedroom is kept there.

I am certain that every generation looks at a few generations down the road and say similar, "Would you look at them kids with their hair slicked back, and their loud rock and roll music racing their V8s up and down the road, it is a shame, back in my day we only had a horse and buggy, and you were home by dark..."
Not sure where you were in the 70's but I was 15 in 1975 and NEVER saw anything close to what is out there now. The malls where I lived were not a place to go and hang out. I NEVER saw someone with purple spiked hair and black makup on. Sorry not buying that this has been going on since the 70's.

Try going to the mall on Friday or Sat. night. When I was growing up you wanted to fit in, look like the crowd. These days it is who can look like the biggest freak show. Between the spiked colored hair, body piercings and clothes that I would not leave the house. The total lack of respect for others. I fear for the future.
