  1. Made it back fine. Ate at The Varsity before heading home and didn't realize that MTSU was at Ga Tech today. If you stay around the good local areas everything is fine. Definitly to big city for me. Passed a few gun shops but either didn't have time or just couldn't change lanes. Spent Friday and Saturday trolling around the Buckhead area. Saw some nice cars, best was this morning, Bently convertible. Who knows, I might go again next year.
  2. Zoo done and just wandered from the hotel for dinner. Found a great Italian place with one other customer at 6:30. Left the zoo at 4:45. GPS said 10 minute ride, took 25. My wife thank goodness was in the back with the boy. Just told her to put her head down, turn the AC up back there and hang on. Haven't gotten to experience that traffic before. Blinker...what's that? Random parks and The Varsity for lunch on Friday. Random sighting of the day, local transit bus driver drinking Listerine. On duty. No swish and spit for this fella.
  3. There went my thread. I guess lock this thing up if it's going to get highjacked. dlm37015: Looks like a really nice place, but my 3 year old won't behave long enough for me to enjoy the atmosphere and filet.
  4. Heading out in the AM. Thanks for the information. I'll check in when I can, most likely Sunday afternoon when we are back at the house. I try to stay off electronic gadgets when on vacation. Hasn't worked yet. These things are hard to put down sometimes.
  5. Going there along with the zoo.
  6. What's a Heavy Dog? Chili Cheese Slaw Dog! Looks like lunch on Friday! Thanks MacGyver. I plan on carrying too Jonin, I've already spent time on usacarry and georgiapacking.org. And if I get a random car wash at a stop light, there will be a big issue. I wouldn't touch a car if you can't see who's driving! Cash only on the tint job.
  7. My wife has a conference on Friday. She had an idea that me and the little one tag along and make a weekend of it. We have some stuff planned Saturday. Me and my boy are on are own Friday. I'm trying to figure what I shouldn't take with me firearm wise, as I'd love to fill my sons bag with my stuff. I am a little nervous as I haven't been down there before but the stereotypes and stories keep flooding my bald head. Staying in the Peachtree area. Am I just psyching myself out or is it an armpit of an area like you hear and read about?
  8. Unexpected find when my father passed. It puzzling still to my family where the thing came from. He specifically left it to me. Other than that I have no idea the story behind it and the tie to my father. Took it to a gun show to find out about it when I got it (I was still wet behind the ears on firearms). Lots of people were interested and a few offers. One guy tempted me with big money but kindly passed.
  9. If I could figure out how to post a picture besides using photobucket I'd do it. Winchester 1866, second model.
  10. On the hunt for a 22 mag rifle now. Will have more free time Monday as the wife is at work and kiddo is at school. Dolomite, the stuff I have is in a thin cardboard package with one brick having 1986 and the other 1994 as a prominate date shown on the package. If I can figure out how to post a picture from an iPad I'd do it (maybe tap talk?). Guess I can get the other camera out and try that way.
  11. I found this statement on another forum (tried to search here first of course), "The WRF has a shorter case, and is lower powered, but it can be shot in a .22 WMR firearm". Reason I ask is because while cleaning up my ammo locker, I finally looked at some of the stuff my dad had. I have 300 rounds of 22 WMR that I believe my bother has the rifle for in VA. Dad left it to him when he passed and somehow I got the ammo. I have plenty of toys that fire the LR, but if I can find something to shoot both WRF and WMR that would be nice. Found some 22MAG laying around also. Need to learn up on this stuff. Thanks in advance for suggestions.
  12. Call Specialty Arms II, they still don't have there shop open yet, but he answers the phone. That's where I found my latest purchase a few months ago.
  13. Tuesday at this restaurant is kids night, meaning if I buy a combo, my three year old son eats free. They have music and a ballon guy that's pretty good. Between all of that stuff and free ice cream it's pretty busy. I've seen this word used before and I'm going to use it again. A high school "ass hat" sitting outside with something too similar to the Joker mask. Kept it on the whole time we were there. My right hand was starting itch as soon as he came in the place with a few friends and no one even batted an eye. I kept my hands in my lap and my eyes locked. If my son wasn't with me I might have said something. The owner, as far as I know, didn't say anything about keeping his face covered either, I would have if was an employee.
  14. I usually wake up if a mouse farts, but slept right though this one. We lost power for only the third time in 7 years in this house. Dolmite is right, but also the closer to the radar site itself it's likely to pick up false returns. I used to drive by a radio station tower for a certain station I listened to everyday, picked up most static from it as I drove by it. With the power of these radars, cell and FM towers, closer isn't always better.
  15. My renewal took 3 weeks. Went without for a week, but I was on vacation out of state and not needing to carry then. Staying with family that have the same views about home safety is nice. Procrastination got me. Could have done it early but just kept putting it off for some reason.
  16. Just had a knock a few minutes ago my self. He either has great hearing (from the slide being racked) or great timing. Saw his back by the time I peaked out the window.
  17. Found my M&P 9mm factory replacement at midwayusa or brownells. Can't remember which.
  18. Between the heat, a long vacation and now rain the last couple of weeks, I haven't gotten out as much this year. Used to play every other week or there abouts. I agree with OhShoot on the putting thing. If I could putt, I'd be a scratch player. I guess I play to about a +4.
  19. I've got my dads '80 something S&W 686. Built like a tank, hair trigger in SA. Never had any issues for the 7 years I have had in my possession with .357mag or .38sp.
  20. 112 in Spring Hill. Never experienced this weather before. Good thing is it keeps me from smoking.
  21. My dad said some horrific things about them back in the day. I thought he was off his rocker then, he was right on the mark. Miss that old fart.
  22. Google shopping was pretty handy. Might as well unload Chrome on the July 1 too.
