  1. Because after I looked at all available options for what I was needing, I choose the 26 for size and reliability. With the extension, the height is still less than the 19 by 1/2" and 3/4" in barrel length at a confrontation isn't going to make any difference, training does. I could have gone with another manufacture for $200-$300 less and gotten a gut gun but I don't invest in guns that will go into the trash after 200 rounds. I made a great choice on my firearm as well as anyone else that buy's what they feel fits them.
  2. I have been hunting for my first Glock. Last ditch effort to find one local before going the online route I called Specialty Arms II in LaVergne yesterday. Said he had one in stock and could pick it today. Since there rebuilding, I wasn't sure what the shop looked like. Well it's just the owner, a card table and a box that has orders ready for pickup. Painless transaction, good price and great guy. Stopped by the Saddle Shop for a holster and found the Pearce Grip Extesion (PG-2733). On the back it says it will add two 9mm rounds once installed. I tried my hardest to get the last two in. Won't go. Seems straight forward unless it really is just an extension which I'm fine with. Any suggestions?

    buying my first GLOCK

Picking up a 26 Gen 3 (my first Glock) Wednesday if I can part with my cash.
  4. There is a nice place close to Nissan in Cool Springs. I think it's around the price range your looking for. Miles Auto Spa I think.
  5. I'm hunting for a 26 myself. Might have to give them a call next week. Sharpe looking D3.
  6. Educate me, when it says no tax and free shipping, the FFL then puts the TN tax plus the transfer fee? Looking at a few sites now for a new CC. Just trying to get a solid number before I order something online.
  7. Your right OS. For my year in the early 80's it was a MKII (1982-2004). Good catch.
  8. Ruger MKIII4 (4 meaning 4.75") is what I have. Mine is from the early 80's but shoots great. Only gripe I have is when it's time for a through cleaning. I found one online in a few minutes for around $290. About $20 for magazines.
  9. You get two magazines. One flush and one with the pinky extension. Both holding 12 rounds. The Talo picture above is a full size magazine (holds 17) that has a sleeve over it. I had the full size M&P 40 since late 2007, now hunting for a 9C or the Sheild.
  10. I'm still scratching my bald head over the episode with the 1866 Yellow boy. $20,000 for a replica (I think it was an octagon barrel too!)? I have a second model just appraised at half that.
  11. I frequent Moes across town form that Kroger. I've gotten the look from the kids and moms in there too. I guess they can tell its not a cell phone. Even though I know what there looking at I still check my nose.
  12. After putting my hands on a G26 Gen 3 yesterday, I'm oddly in the hunt for a G19 or 23, currently own a full size M&P40. I would have taken that Gen 3 26 if he wasn't steep on the price ($580 out the door was his offer, $20 shy of buying). Never been a Glock person, but handling one yesterday and seeing all the aftermarket parts is making it easier. Like most people say LEO carry them. Problem is finding them in for a decent price.
  13. M&P 40 full size in a Don Hume (I picked up from a gun show for cheap). After losing 30 pounds of beer weight, it's heading to the nightstand and looking for something in a compact. Trying to figure out what to replace it with is making my head spin. Been looking around online for weeks now. Window shopping tomorrow.
  14. Thanks for the info DaddyO, I guess it changed since last I stopped by. Might run up next week then. An hour goes quick for me using two different handguns (loading 4,15 round mags takes a few minutes without a mag loader) and sometimes my Marlin 81DL for fun.
  15. Nice set up there, but for the lane fee, time limit and requirement to buy there ammo for range use (non-member of course), it's easier to run to Murfreesboro and not have to watch the clock. It takes almost the same travel time to either for me.
  16. Found this site a while back and thought I'd jump in. A thanks to someone on here that recommended John at Game Fair in West Nashville. Had the rifle for five years and finally aprraised.
