  1. They do. When I shipped my M&P to S&W they sent me a fedex label.
  2. General use, mags hitting the ground reloading caused most of the feedlips to break and going prone sheared off the locking tab. Mike
  3. I've seen them break, I've seen more that didn't fit into magwells.
  4. Considering 922r is nigh unenforcable at the individual level and considering there has never been a case brought about under 922r violation, I'd say it's a non issue...
  5. Don't get emotionally invested in your equipment. No one here has said Romanian rifles don't run. Just that some of the rifles century arms has built with Romanian parts kits have issues.
  6. Paul is putting on a class on handling traumatic injuries in Knoxville March 4th. For those of you without medical training, and those of you that need to get a refresher course. You need to attend this class. Paul does a wonderful job at conveying this information and this class is well worth the time and money you put in. http://gomez-training.com/course-description/handling-traumatic-injuries-hti-125/ 1pm to 5pm. Cost is $125. Class is being held at Pellissippi Community College.
  7. What are you looking for? Most stocks on ak's can be swapped out for different ones. Some can't without cutting rivets and installing a new trunnion. It's hard to go wrong with an Arsenal. Almost all they offer is polymer furnitured rifles. They're built correctly and you get factory sypport if there is a problem. I have several and have downright abused most of them. Mike
  8. I would recommend a Colt 6920, Daniel Defense or BCM. Buy a high quality rifle that you will not have to jack around with. Yes, it may be more expensive to buy one of these than other rifles. There is a reason for that. You are getting your moneys worth. A rifle that is built properly with good quality steel in the barrel and bolt. A chaber that is reamed to proper 5.56 chamber dimensions and a lower that has correctly heat treated parts of the proper grade steel. Save your money and buy quality over what happens to be available at walmart. You can get a brand new colt for the same 1k you would spend on a Bushmaster at Walmart.. Colt 6920 Once you have a nice rifle and you still want to build one, go ahead. At least you will have one that runs while you diagnose problems on the other. Buy good weapons and piles of ammunition and mags. They WILL pay off in the end. Mike
  9. The problem with 7.62x39 is that people buy the cheapest rifle they find, put the cheapest ammo they can buy, then bitch when it doesn't group consistently... Terminal ballistics has little to do with "punching power" and is more based on accuracy, velocity, and projectile profile. Knockdown power, stopping power and any term of that ilk is solely perpetrated to sell snake oil. Hit them where they need to be hit, enough times so they don't get back up. I have no problems tagging steel at 250 with my Draco, It still puts dents in the steel, so there's not too much velocity lost. As far as numbers, I have no idea, but it will go out there just as well as a full length AK. Mike
  10. Egyptian Maadi's and Norincos are some of the most well built ak's out there. Right up beside russian and bulgarian built rifles. I personally would go for a newer sgl21 which is a Russian gun built by Bulgarians in Arizona. I would stay away from century builds unless you know what you are looking at. Most rifles are good, some are not good. It's not just canted sights that are a problem. Some of them are improperly headspaced.
  11. Russian Arsenal or Bulgarian. Hands down. Buy nothing from century.
  12. Both work well. 5.45 is much lighter with minimal recoil and is cheaper. 7.62 is better at defeating barriers, heavier and more expensive. The US ammunition manufacturers are starting to produce very good rounds as of late for both calibers. Corbon and Hornady make 7.62 and Hornady makes a 5.45 offering. I have both, but I would probably use the 5.45. It does interesting things when it hits soft tissue and weighs much less. Mike
  13. 26" overall. Unless you're just going for looks, I wouldn't reccommend the pistol grip. Nothing renders a shotgun more useless than a pistol grip. It interferes greatly with the aiming part. If you want a short shotgun I would take the money you are going to be putting into this project and pay the $200 stamp for a short barrel shotgun. Well worth it.
  14. I just don't get the massive uproar of how its so sad and all. If she wanted to get doped up thats fine by me, but don't expect me to be all sad and mournful when she dies due to her lack of self control. If it's harsh, that's ok by me. Life is harsh. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  15. So a famous drug addict OD'ed. Who gives a flying F..K? Mike
  16. The 2.0 is designed to work with the gemtech halo suppressor. It's the same length as the a2 birdcage.
  17. I have used them in the past. They work as advertised and I had zero problems with them. Now comes the part where i give you my opinion. There really isn't a need for them unless you are using a low powered optic that will not allow the front sight to blur out. Better to have the front sight fixed in the up position. It is much more efficient and if you are using a red dot it will not make a difference if the sight is up or down. With both eyes open you will not even notice the sight is there. Mike
  18. How are you holding the rifle? You can mitigate most of the recoil by adjusting your grip. For free too.
  19. We broke those mags in about 5 minutes... not the best. Broken feedlips and the locking lug on the rear shearing off. Buy comblock mags, chinese mags, or bulgarian waffle mags. All others are inferior. Mike
  20. Take it from someone who has broken objectives off scopes and cooked the guts out of red dots while using them. Buy quality stuff. It hurts more up front, but you don't have to put up with any bull#### on the other end. I hope it holds zero for you. I would use it until you can save up for an aimpoint. Mike
