  1. Already a lifer, I'm waffling on the $200 endowment upgrade right now... even so, I know that the upgrade "harassment" via email and snail mail will never end... it just goes to the next level...and the next level...and the next level. Yeah, I could cut off the mail, but I'm not ready to do that yet.
  2. Have always loved this band and this album in particular-- but I remember that there was a corny tv commercial for it back in the '70's, wish I could find the commercial, but apparently it's not out there on the web.
  3. Murphy Express 1.5 miles from me in Murfreesboro is currently posted at $1.61 for regular-- no discount or loyalty card required.
  4. Lots of good experiences for me with SGAmmo. Also had no problems with Target Sports USA either, especially when buying in bulk.
  5.     I doubt they would go up appreciably. If you do the math, the lifetime license only makes since if you are under age 40 and expect to live past age 80.   $500.00 (lifetime rate) / 12.50 (the current per-year fee rate) = the equivalent of 40 years worth of prepaid licensing fees.   For those of us over 50, it's not really economic sense. The per year rate would have to increase to $17 or more for older folks to break even. However, for young whippersnappers and millennials, the lifetime is not necessarily a bad deal though-- except that, just like the 5-year renewals, it could be suspended or revoked for any number of reasons, and if that ever happened,  I seriously doubt that you'd get any kind of pro-rata refund. Because of this potential revocation factor, I prefer to pay as I go, thank you very much.
  6.   GREAT choice!   Especially this one, for this time of year:   https://youtu.be/qTx-sdR6Yzk
  7. Once something is seen, it cannot be unseen..... :stunned: :stunned: :panic:
  8. because a gun is more fun than reading self-absorbed liberal hipster poetry....
  9. No need to lower your standards. If that theory holds water, then judging by her "aren't I more clever than you" photo above, she must be a virgin. The picture below (recently posted on TTAG) reinforces my point. It pretty much relays the attitude that the only person in the world that she gives two sh*ts about is the person in her bathroom mirror. I've never understood people who seem to be perpetually angry at the World, yet refuse to recognize that 95% of their own problems are self-initiated.
  10.   In a perfect world, the correct answer would be "all of them." :woohoo: EDIT:  I just looked above and saw that Chucktshoes beat me to the semi-sarcastic answer!   In reality-- I think two should be the standard minumum number with a new firearm purchase, but of course, it's entirely up to the manufacturer.   Regarding a dealer stocking extra mags for the pistols he sells-- good luck with that one... unless the only pistols you own are Glock 21, Sig P226, traditional 1911 or S&W M&P models. For those of us who own less common models (not necessarily "exotic" though), finding mags stocked on the shelf in a store is something of a pipe dream-- the "popular" mags take up most of the shelf space-- and, from the standpoint of the dealer, with good reason too.
  11. The author of the New Republic article is some smarmy hipster chick who lives in Toronto... wtf does she know about guns or US issues anyway? She only wishes she was American. Phoebe Maltz Bovy?? Hopefully she will be the one to personally initiate the door-to-door confiscation process? Or not. Looking at her smirk, I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. Not exactly somebody I'd want to wake up next to after a drunken party...
  12.   Thanks for the sources. Told ya that I bet it was compiled by a non-gun owner! :stunned:
  13.   I'm going to throw this number out there with a grain of salt because I can't verify the source, but according to Gene Kennedy's website, the current HCP count in TN is almost 525,000 now.
  14. Obviously this was compiled or edited by a clueless non-firearms owner... in EVERY single case example they refer to the number of guns "registered". When was the last time any of you "registered" a non-NFA firearm in Tennessee? What's more, the per capita estimate sum of 73,320 for a population of 6,495,978 doesn't even make a drop in the bucket in parallel comparison with the almost 500,000 HCP holders in TN (which obviously doesn't include those "Fudds" that own long guns exclusively). Despite the fact that I am a product of a public school education, even my math isn't that bad.   Which tells me that this is more about the number of background checks per capita, not the number of guns.   Disingenuous, at best. Making up stuff is the 2nd favorite pastime of a liberal media-- right behind open antagonism of white conservatives. These idiots have no idea what they're talking about.
  15.   Sounds like you were dealing with a former "Best Buy" or "Circuit City" (remember them?) employee.   Can't it also shoot .32 S&W?
  16. Unfortunately for me, Comcast has no concept of customer retention whatsoever. Their strategy is to lure you in with a discount package, and then bend you over without even kissing you once the introductory period expires. I find it difficult to believe that DirectTV is any worse than the checkbook rapists at Comcast.
  17. This list is almost 6 years old, published by the UT Ag Extension-- but I imagine that most processors on the list are still active-- might be a good place to start when choosing a processor.   https://ag.tennessee.edu/cpa/Information%20Sheets/CPA%20171.pdf
  18.   not sure how that would work out around buried gas lines....
  19.   Long time Jeff Lynne fan here... nice tip to his Traveling Wilbury days buried in that video.
  20. Drive-By Truckers--- Southern Rock Opera.
