  Ummm, I believe the preferred term these days is "living historian" as opposed to "reenactor". :whistle:   That being said, if you live in Nashville, you are only about 45-60 minutes away from one of the best stocked Civil War sutlers in the south--   http://www.blockaderunner.com/   They are located right off of I-24E between Bellbuckle and Wartrace, and are very well stocked on just about everything you could imagine for Civil War Buffs... both Union and Confederate gear, uniforms, accessories, relics etc. Well worth the drive for anyone interested in this stuff.   What's more, they are very 2A friendly and welcome legal licensed carry-- with a "FIREARMS PERMITTED" gun-in-green-circle (the opposite of a gunbuster sign) sign right by the front door! :up: And no, I do NOT work for them, but it's one of my favorite places to spend a lazy Saturday.   If you visit the store, you can get a new artillery shell jacket for around $120-- usually they have several sizes in stock, so that's about half the cost of a custom-make jacket. Not sure that you'll find a new one cheaper than that online, besides, better to keep your $$ in Tennessee instead of sending it to some Yankee up north...

  Unfortunately, with only 8 returning seniors, I don't think our season (MSU) is going to be quite as productive as last year... still expect them to come out with a winning year, but they'll have to work hard to get it. I'm thinking 8-4 at very best, but more like 7-5.

  If I recall correctly, as of Sept. 2013, the NFL policy does prohibit off-duty LEO from carrying at games.   That being said, the state of Texas has told the NFL to go pound sand, and allows off-duty LEOS to carry at Cowboys and Texans games. Also a Minnesota Police association has/had a suit pending against the NFL regarding this rule, but I do not know the status of that suit.   The NFL's weapons policies are the precise reason that they do not get a dime of my money-- not tickets, not merchandise, nothing.

Don't let my wife know about this... we are pretty much at capacity with 4 cats already... 2 of them are rescues, and the other 2 she had before we married and they are getting up in years. I've told her 4 is the limit... if and when we lose one, we will get another, but not before. I think that the unwritten rule is: anything over 4 in the house automatically qualifies you for "crazy cat lady" status...  4 or less is just a "cat lover". :shhh:

  Wage Garnishment is permitted in Tennessee... but they have to have wages to attach first. My guess is that, judging by the "floor guy's" general business practices, I would bet that he probably does the bulk of his business "off the books" so that he can claim a loss on his taxes (if he even files them), so there's probably not really much to attach. This is a particular problem with trying to attach wages of people who are self-employed.   One thing to understand is the difference between a debt and a judgement. Technically, obtaining a judgement legally "satisfies" the monetary debt claim itself. The challenge is actually recovering proceeds to satisfy the judgement. Often times if there are no wages to attach, then judgement liens are attached to real property or titled property (house, car, stock holdings, levy on bank account, etc.). Once a judgement is granted in General Sessions, it is usually up to the winner of the suit to pursue remuneration. Easier said than done in many cases. Getting a judgement is the easy part... squeezing the money out of it is a different matter altogether-- especially if you do not use an attorney who is well-versed in asset search and recovery. Additionally, it's important to seize or recover as much as possible as soon as possible... because when you start attaching wages or putting liens on assets, the next traditional move is for the individual or entity to file for bankruptcy... which will pretty much negate any further recovery efforts.

  This. There is no "small claims court" in TN. In General Sessions court an individual can represent themselves, but a business entity (corp, llc, non-profit, limited partnership as examples) cannot. However, the allowance for individual representation may be subject to requirements or limitations by your specific county-- so depending on where you live, you might need a lawyer, and you might not.

They've been there well over a year now, that's about 2 miles from where I live... I'm surprised they've lasted this long...

Go medieval on the skunk....   step 1--they are primarily nocturnal (unless they are rabid), so sometime before bed, put a good coat of flour on the ground around the hole. Chances are the skunk will be out foraging during the late evening. Check the flour mid-morning the next day-- if you see Pepe LePew footy prints in the flour, odds are that the skunk has returned and is sleeping in it burrow.   step 2-- get out the ol' turkey fryer, and heat up a couple of gallons of cooking oil. it doesn't have to be boiling, but does need to be close to frying temperature.   step 3-- VERY carefully transfer the oil (a small stove pot or boiler can be used as a dipper for this) to a large stove pot or cast iron with a sturdy handle...   step 4-- recreate the classic Medieval castle siege defense by pouring as much of the hot oil as possible into the burrow hole as quickly as possible-- a gallon or two will work nicely.... and take care of the oil splash unless you want to end up like the skunk.     step 5-- run.   step 6-- go back and fill the hole in completely with dirt or concrete.   step 7-- 2 years later, excavate the perfectly preserved skunk skeleton, and display it on your patio as fair warning to other nuisance varmints.     Once skunks take up residence, it is damn hard to get rid of them by just filling in or blocking their burrow. The most successful non-firearm-related solution is live capture and relocation-- which is a royal pain in itself.   PS-- skunks just can't resist a peanut butter/tuna fish (or canned cat food) casserole, so keep that in mind when baiting traps.     Of course, there are easier methods than the one I just mentioned.... sorry if anyone took this 100% seriously-- it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek overkill.

  Agreed. A good virginia/perique or virginia/burley blend in a corncob is pretty darn hard to beat... one of my favorite spring-summer smokes.   With traditional clay pipes, I tend to gravitate toward smoking navy flake blends, but anything is good once you become accustomed to the characteristics of a clay pipe.
