Remington shotgun feed latch installation HELP!
I_Like_Pie replied to tylerc56's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
If he allows...take him up on it and buy him lunch. It isn't a difficult job to do at all and would hate to see you spend $60 to have someone else do it. (the tool is only $30-40) My only advice is - line it up and give it 1 or 2 good whacks....don't hammer on it -
Actually....Glocks are well known for their outstanding accuracy. Out of the box some of the most accurate pistols made.

This is the best deal in SD going right now. The safety on those guns are unusually stiff, but otherwise about perfect for a life hopefully to never leave the closet.

Was in there less than 1 hour ago....no revolvers worth mentioning, but right now they have practically NIB Gen 3 glock 19s for $350...blue label with 3 mags. I spend way too much money there!!!

What is this.....I don't even!?!? I am sure if you load up some 60 grain bullets at 4000 fps it could cause some problems. But in the standard loadings it is no different than any other 308 based chambering made...period. If you loaded up some 36 grain pills really hot in the .223 it would be the same story. EDIT - In other words it is no reason to be swayed from a great chambering.

Get one of the good budget rifles...the Savage at under $400 is a good start. Get a decent optic and solid mount for $250 or so. Get a decent rest for under $100. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST... Get a lee anniversary kit and reload for that gun and whatever cartridge you pick....You will never have a full understanding of the gun until you do this. In my opinion .243 is one of the best cartridges made for anything under 600 yards of shooting....practically anything in other words and can not be matched in versatility if you are a reloader. If you want one that will do it all...it is my pick.

I am trying to figure out the relation to the "tracers" for lack of a better word on the HUD and bullet impact. They appear to be the actual projectiles, but how they move on the screen doesn't make much sense. Anyone else here know what is going on.

What shop was it...and if we both left at the same time who would get there first? :-) For the most part...WYSIWYG with revolvers. If it isn't obviously bubba'ed and it seems to be in time you should be good. Look for a split at the top of the barrel where it meets the cylinder (forcing cone). Also look for excessive play in the crane (arm that holds the cylinder. Make sure it fires both DA/SA and make sure the cylinder is locked up without being able to rotate when you let the hammer down on all chambers of the cylinder. Check for no rust in the barrel (stainless can rust believe it or not) and make sure the crown of the barrel has no cuts or problems. That is about it. If the owner is an old timer he should know all about those guns. They are truly the pinnacle of .357 revolvers. There are newer guns, but they don't carry quite as well as the K-frames ever did.

Met an older gentleman who had his wife's pistol and she didn't want it any more. I bought it sight unseen for $100. It was a practically new S&W model 36 with factory mother of pearl grips. It is a keeper...maybe my great grandchildren may pass it on to someone.

There is a lot of Blah – Blah garbage so far in this thread. You want to know why Taurus is seen as a second tier competitor in the firearms world? Because they, like most Brazilian firearm manufacturers, got their start from buying second hand or left over tooling from other companies. They didn’t design them and only learned how to crank out guns in volume at very attractive prices. They bought production turn-key and did not focus as much attention on marketing, customer service, development, and distribution. Because of this they only made a good physical product, but that is not all that is needed for a proper customer experience. They didn’t have the ability to modify design to keep up with consumer preference –remember they bought tooling and not the engineers that designed the guns. They didn’t have a proper marketing and customer support network to give customers assurance of a quality product, and finally when something did go wrong with a product they didn’t have an efficient way to address the problems with the customer. They did this for 20 or so years. They may be improving, but customers don’t forget. It is reflected in price, it is reflected in reputation, it is reflected in resale value. A good analogy would be GMC. They spewed so much garbage for so long that even if they do produce a good product every now and then…people still don’t trust them. Don’t underestimate how much of a business is built on reputation.

I will give you a call. It is a New in box Aker international hoster and a couple of other police items. Worth about $100 or so. I don't need them and want a police officer to have them. http://akerleather.com/off-duty-holsters.php?cat=off-duty-holsters&name=Nightguard%E2%84%A2&id=167

Have one of them contact me via PM or email. I won the 40 year anniversary door prize at GT Distributors and have something I want to give them. I am only offering this to someone who is serving as a police officer. If I don't here from one here in the next day or so I am going to give it to CPAAA

Any Police Officer here carry a Sig P220 as a duty weapon? If so - Please contact me via a PM or email. I have something very nice for you.

Cap 'n Ball sale at Cabelas

Because it is not a firearm is why :-) -
Awesome. There are more one liners in this thread than in Blazing Saddles.

Cinder block walls with rebar and concrete will make a pretty decent makeshift safe. You might add more value to the house if you turned the area into a makeshift storm shelter in the process. 1) if it is hidden then pick up a metal gun cabinet for $50 and use that as the framework. 2) Mirror may work as a cover too. -or put the entire metal cabinet on a track to pull towards you. ...all and all I don't see why a $300 "real" used safe wouldn't also be a good option.

They were wrong....Rebluing itself never obscures a serial number. The process of preparation for the rebluing is what does it. Generally it is bubba with a polishing wheel or pile of sandpaper.
-
I believe this also....CZ 75 is an evolved Hi-Power in my book.
-
Last I saw they were running $299 at CDNN....

Would help if we actually knew what model of gun it was.

I am an RSO there - no way this guy would accompany me based upon this thread

I lived there for 20 and still have no honking clue what you are talking about
