  1. After a lot of reloading over many decades...I have found that a beam scale is much less fussy, much easier to maintain, much more consistent, and just as fast as an electronic scale. Also I build in cleaning the primer pockets to my process. 1) dump in tumbler 2) deprime (removes media) - never deprime then tumble. 3) clean and check pockets (also check for splits and worn out brass at this stage) 4) trim bottleneck brass. Straight walled brass needs to be trimmed when new sometimes, but that it the only time (it does not stretch - someone tells you different they are dumb or lying) 5-* continue as normal
  2. That is why everyone needs a Blackhawk chambered in .30 carbine. the flames will burn hair.
  3. I can cast and reload a box for less than $2. The market is irrational.
  4. The "weakness" of the 19 was way overblown. I own several (and have shot dozens) of them for 3 decades now without any problems whatsoever. Matter of fact I have never seen or heard of any in my community that have ever had a problem. Kinda like the glock kb problem....It happens....somewhere I am sure.
  5. Anyone in the Chattanooga area want to do the same? I have my 03FFL and can get a pretty good price through graf and sons. I want to get my order in before people start going crazy on the elections and before the retailers start their markups. PM me if you do.
  6. Cool thing about the .17 is that you get to buy a whole new set of cleaning rods and brushes that will actually fit in the barrel.
  7. Yes,,,Some 27s in there too. Was in earlier today.
  8. My local shop has some 2nd gen glocks for well under $300.....yeah there are some out there cheap if you shop around.
  9. That is a much nicer description than I could have mustered.
  10. I know that this isn't the place...Nice truck by the way. But profits <> revenue
  11. Good grief you folks over think things. Go to tractor supply and get a 50# block of it for $20 if it is that much of a worry. It will last several thousands of years if you keep it dry and will supply all the salt you will ever need for a decade if SHTF. If it gets that bad then salt will be the least of your problems.
  12. If they are open 24/7 like most wal mart stores....When do they start selling again 12:01....6:00am...8:00am
  13. Fill to base of bullet.... 70%...... ???!?!? These are not reloading measurements that I understand. The word "about" makes my head hurt when reloading is concerned..

    HiPoint Carbine

I had one...was actually a decent shooting little gun. I could see it as being a perfect raccoon hunting gun
  15. I agree....sick of seeing that unrealistic and sensational video every time the word "safe" is mentioned on a website.
  16. I love Bark River Knives. Just as I dislike the silly GI Goe guns...I am not to fancy on the space age looking knives.
  17. Holy cow....I would have passed out from excitement like a teenage girl at a Beatles concert.
  18. I have seen several of these over the decades north of Nashville all the way up to Bowling Green. Not much elsewhere...wonder if it is a regional thing? Many of the ones I handled were actually pretty sharp.
  19. I'll bet I have 600 pounds of casting lead in my basement waiting for when I have a day off and it isn't raining to produce everything I need for the year's shooting. It won't take more than 50-60# to get though this year due to being so busy at work. Caster....love those .311 bullets. They look to be alox rings with a gas check!?!? Is that right?
  20. Maybe so, but you can't scoop them out of the water like crappie....When they are running hard here in spring you could throw a rock randomly in the water below the dam and hit a crappie in the head
  21. Maybe factory loads, but a handloaded guide gun puts out 300 grain bullets at 2200 fps with a good charge of RL-7. 405 grain at 1750. That is not quite (but almost) twice the ME of a 454 casull making it powerful enough to go clean though an elephant, 2 school buses, and a candy factory before stopping!! 454 casull is only good for an elephant, a school bus, a sno-cream truck and a maybe a standard poodle!!!

    why a Glock?

If it wasn't intentional - I honestly apologize. That is always how the glock fights start from past experience...some of them are pretty epic.

    why a Glock?

Actually....yes. That is true too. They are the cheapest gun in the pro circuit. Another reason is that the GSSF really makes competition easy and the members of team glock have a lot of money thrown at them. So yes. Nice try trolling, but please take that stink somewhere else and stop making it in this thread. ################################ O.P. - Get what feels good in your hand. The Beretta is a gun gun and will serve you well. You will like it if that is your choice in a .45
  24. My wife LOVES my single six and it tags along every time she does. Only thing she doesn't like is loading it. That single 10 would make that a bit less frustrating for her
  25. Glock 18 ...Aside from that on I am perfectly happy with my 27
