Yup, that's me. I haven't been on there in a long time either. Still get an occasional email from some of the guys there wanting to know if I'm ever coming back. I started out simply working and rebuilding the older ones, and that turned into working pretty much every afternoon on the more extreme ones, which finally burnt me out on the whole thing somewhat. The point I'm at now is one of those "getting back to basics" kinda things. Whenever I get back into working on them I will concentrate mostly on the M38, and we're also wanting to do another rebuild on my dad's CJ5 to make it a little better. He hasn't really been too happy with the paint job or the wiring mess that it's currently in, so redoing that as well as some brake upgrades are first things on the list.

It's good that Mr. Moron gets to learn first hand why our country needs to crack down on illegal immigrants instead of welcoming them. They can't hardly be charged for breaking any laws of this country since they are here illegally, and when they do so they simply get a free trip back home. Heck, being as this guy had the "Mexican costume" on at the time, I would say that free trip home is what he was looking for anyway, and probably crashed his car into Moron on purpose. The argument could go either way though, because people like Moron could go with the argument that giving them amnesty would then allow them to be charged when they break our laws.

I know what you mean about the false trigger pulls with it, and this is what seems to cause, or at least where I started to notice, the slapping of the trigger on occasion. I'm not sure on this whether it's the gun having an inconsistant trigger, or if it's still just me getting use to the trigger pull. With lots of practice with it I seem to do it less and less though. Last time I fired mine I only had about 4 rounds out from shooting around 100 rounds through it. I ended up with a G22 from getting a deal that I couldn't pass up though, or I may have gotten something different. The model, as well as caliber, sure has grown on me though, I just need alot more practice with it.
-
It's definately the trigger pull of the Glock. I can shoot accurately with my G22, but occasionally I will have a couple of rounds low and to the left. After shooting alot of rounds through it I can also tell you that the chart is correct in the jerking or slapping the trigger section. I shoot alot, and don't have this issue at all with my other firearms, some of which are kinda simliar like the XD45. Only seem to have this kinda issue with the Glock.

My feelings exactly. They gave you no option, which to me is basically stealing. Heck, even bigger events like Titans games they give you the option to take your property back to your vehicle even if it's in stadium parking lots. These guys were obviously abusing their rent-a-cop powers, and judging by the descriptions of their attitudes I would have probably gone to jail had I attended this event.

That's kinda my opinion on it. As of right now AZ has pretty much said they will act on their own to enforce the laws. By doing this, Obama can gain back control over the state actions on the matter. I also agree with Sun in that it would be interesting to see how that money he's sending gets spent. The dying part of me that still wants to believe this country is still strong, would like to think that he is sending them down there because AZ's actions have been powerful enough to wake someone in government up and make them take note of what is really going on in the country these days.
-
X2 Doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong in my job, or what other people's opinions of me are, and in some forms someone protesting my actions could be understood. However, the second these protesters decide to involve my family in any way, especially on my private property, and law enforcement makes the decision to do nothing, then it will no longer be a peaceful protest.

Just be careful, because that "like to go places" part soon turns in to the more extreme side of things. I started out just enjoying riding back roads and trails here and there on the weekends. A few years later my last project was an 01 TJ with a 350, on 1 ton axles and 44" TSL's. When I messed my knee up I went for a long time thinking I would never be able to get down on the ground or in and out of anything big anymore, so I sold everything I had on the extreme side of things. Even though the knee is about back to normal now, I still haven't gotten back in to any kinda mechanic work yet. Sure do miss it though.....

Nashville DUI Officers Warned to Arrest More People - Or Else
MCSCOTT replied to TMMT's topic in General Chat
Don't get me wrong, I got the same meaning from the article as well as the fact that he wasn't charged with it, I just don't see how he could come up with being guilty of speeding unless he was in fact speeding. From the article, it tells how the officer gave him a field sobriety test and from his eye twitching and his leg shaking he believed the guy to be under the influence. If this is the case, that would mean it wasn't until after the guy was pulled over that the officer made this determination. I guess this is another case of the whole story not coming out in the article, because there has to be a reason for the officer pulling him over in the first place. If he wasn't in fact speeding, then there has to be some other reason for the officer to pull him over. If there was no other reason, then I would be able to see where he could file complaints of lawsuits against the officer. His admission of guilt to breaking the law (even if it was only in order to speed things up) should cancel out any chance of filing a lawsuit or even a complaint. Simple facts: He was pulled over for doing something. (The article doesn't mention what exactly.) The officer believed him to be under the influence. The blood test showed he wasn't, so his innocence in the matter would have come out in court. The system is definately flawed, but this is how things work if you break a law and an officer believes that you have broken other laws as well. If the officer didn't have a reason for pulling him over in the first place, then he should be in alot of trouble in the matter. However, with the guy admitting that he was speeding, even if he only admitted to it in order to speed up the process, then the issue should be left at whatever the judge decides to do toward the speeding charge, and the entire subject from then on should be dropped. Just my .02 though, and I do feel bad for the guy for being arrested for not doing anything. Last time I got pulled over was just for a warning for my tail light being out. Even after the officer told me he was only pulling me over to let me know about it, I was overly nervous for no reason. Had he given me a field sobriety test, I doubt I could have passed it even though I wasn't under the influence of anything, and it could have been me in this guy's situation. Personally I would have considered that to be my own fault for my behavior at the time though, and would have seen no reason to fault the officer for taking me to jail. -
I think the lack of this kind of knowledge is why so many vote against this. It was mentioned the other day on the news while my g/f and I were watching TV, and her first response was "oh no, allowing guns in bars like that would be a huge mess". She changed her mind when I brought up the fact that this doesn't change the law that people can't drink while carrying. It will only allow those going in to restaurants that aren't going to be drinking to carry as long as they are legal to carry in the first place. The general population, using my g/f as an example, are only educated by the media and the way they portray such situations, and as such the media can control the outcome of these issues.

Nashville DUI Officers Warned to Arrest More People - Or Else
MCSCOTT replied to TMMT's topic in General Chat
I do realize that even just the arrest carries alot of weight, and that people's opinions in cases such as yours often ignore the findings of the court system. My opinion is simply that if you aren't breaking a law to begin with, then you wont have to worry about being arrested for something else that you may or may not be doing. This kind of situation is one of the biggest things that keeps me from going over the speed limit most of the time. The cost of a ticket or court costs are no big deal at all to me, but the fact that I could possibly be arrested for any number of things, whether I'm guilty or not. I know from past experiences that simple things like the fact that I pick beer cans and bottles up out of my ditch at home all the time, and often throw them in the back of my truck until I find a dumpster or trash can, could lead to me getting arrested for suspicion. Heck, just last week me and my g/f got into it because apparently I smelled like I had been smoking marijuana. I'm someone who doesn't drink or do anything like that, but whatever I got into that smelled like it could have caused me to get arrested, if I were pulled over for breaking some other laws to start with. In this particular case, the guy was speeding. The officer believed him to be under the influence. The blood test proved that he wasn't, so to me whether or not there is a quota on arrests shouldn't really come into play in the issue because quota or not the officer was only doing his job. -
Nashville DUI Officers Warned to Arrest More People - Or Else
MCSCOTT replied to TMMT's topic in General Chat
Again though I'll say that the criminal records are given by the courts, not by the LEO's, and if innocent people were never arrested then we wouldn't need the court system. I do agree with your opinion the LEO's shouldn't have to be given quotas, and that not having anything to do should be the end goal, but sadly this is not the mindset of all officers. Some look the other direction, and act like all is well, so that they have to do less work. -
Nashville DUI Officers Warned to Arrest More People - Or Else
MCSCOTT replied to TMMT's topic in General Chat
I'm not really sure what my take on all this is. I don't totally agree with setting quotas for officers, but at the same time I know of some officers who just overlook alot of small crimes to keep from having to do paperwork or go to court as much. With that being said, it's no different than my boss telling me that I need to get a certain amount of work done each day, because if he didn't set a limit there would be some days that I would do nothing at all. (I know this, because he hasn't set a limit and there are in fact some days where I do nothing at all. ) Not sure why he wasn't charged with speeding, but I'm guessing the officer believed him to be under the influence and chose to press that issue more than the speeding violation. There are seemingly innocent people who get arrested every day for situations like this, which is why they have the blood tests and other methods of determining whether someone is truely under the influence or not. It is also a big portion of why we have the court system, because if only the guilty people got arrested then all that would be needed is someone to determine the punishment for certain crimes. Simple fact is, had the guy not been speeding in the first place the officer would have had no reason to pull him over, so either way you look at it he wasn't completely innocent. I know that nothing is certain, but common sense tells me that for the most part if I don't break any laws to start with, then I most likely wont have to try to defend myself against other charges as well. -
Now you're speaking my language. I use to be into the old cars, but once I got into the old Jeeps I forgot all about the hot rods. There for a long time I was VP of an offroad club in this area, so I've turned my share of wrenches. I also got my dad into them not long after I did as well, and at one time we had 7 different Jeeps between the two of us. Sadly he recently moved and didn't have room for all of our stuff, and neither did I, so most had to be sold. Engines, transmissions, t-cases, axles, all spare parts were either sold or got pretty much ruined by the floods the other day. Now we're down to his 73 CJ5, our M38, and my TJ.

Deranged gunman opens fire in a shooting range
MCSCOTT replied to Chucktshoes's topic in General Chat
I'm starting to think I am. I shot up almost all my .40 and .45 ammo in a similar event yesterday. Currently I only have about 20 rounds of each. -
I've thought about airsoft before, especially since it would be alot cheaper than what I've spent on paintball over the years. The main reason that airsoft could never work for my bunch is that they aren't exactly the most honest group of people. If they get hit and the paintball doesn't bust, even if there's two or three hits that don't bust, they will not admit to getting hit. I've even seen them brush the paint off if there's not much splattered on them, and keep playing like they were never hit. With this in mind, no one would ever get shot out of one of our games if we were using airsoft guns except for the couple of honest guys there.

US Flag shirt is a No No in a California School
MCSCOTT replied to memphismason's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They've already been burning the flags and doing other things that you mention out there, and they still have the right to do that apparently. Personally I see this as no different. This march, and what it stands for, is basically saying that people shouldn't be allowed to show patriotism around Mexicans, even in this country. Also if those boys were Mexican-American, then kudos to them for showing support to their country, and send the ones that march against this type of behavior back to Mexico since they love the place so much. That's just my .02 on it though, because everyone has different opinions on what the definition of anti-American is. I will say that in the town where I went to school, the boys would not have been sent home, and a march of this nature would NOT be allowed to take place. -
Yeah, with a brace mine isn't as bad, I just have to get myself back in shape like I was before all that. Heck I'd probably have a heart attack if I went right now and played the way we always did before. I just realized I'm a long way away from you guys though, so sad to say I can't be an easy target for ya.

I use to play all the time until I screwed my knee up last year. For a long time I couldn't run much, so then I got lazy and put on 40lbs. The knee is all better, but I'm still currently trying to fix the lazy part. My bunch played woodsball. I've never played on any of the courses in the area. The EBR in the pic is currently the only paintball gun I have left.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I wonder how many there were over there protesting this parade compared to how many there would be over here.

US Flag shirt is a No No in a California School
MCSCOTT replied to memphismason's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Umm....... Why exactly where the Hispanic students skipping class for this??? From my understanding it was American students, doing what they though was showing patriotism for America, in an American school. From what I read it was these American students that were sent home from this American school. These so called Hispanic-Americans should be doing this in protest of the boys being sent home, and any gang retaliation shouldn't be against the boys, it should be againt the school. These people that took part in this march are trying to say that it is wrong to show support for the country they are living in, and it should NOT be allowed to happen. Again I will say, the Constitution should not apply to those that protest against it. How long will Americans allow people to use the 1st in order to protest this country in such a manner? Edit: Finally something else to argue over, as I'm sure that the usual guys will want to argue over my opinion with me. -
Wow, I've never seen so much pimping done to firearms. Then they go cheap on the optics...

X2 Haven't been able to argue too much in this thread though. Heck it seems me and mikegideon always end up arguing back and forth in these discussions. What he's posted today though is almost the same things I would post, so now I've got nothing much to contribute and am sitting here bored.

Interesting indeed. That being the case, even though I believe the judge should have the ability to maintain order, I can't say that I agree with the punishment in this situation. Constitution or not, with this information at hand, this is obviously a case of a judge that was personally offended, and abused her power even if she doesn't view it as such.
