  1. I'm kinda like Mike. Mine are stored in different locations covering two counties.
  2. As mentioned since the HCP is expired then it will be treated the same as having no permit at all for the loaded handgun. I'm assuming since the thread topic mentions that court is coming up, that there are pending charges of some sort. It will be up to the court as to whether or not you get it back, have to pay a fine to get it back, or whatever the charges involve, but either way I would definately say you want to go into it with a lawyer representing you. Since I wasn't there I will ignore the comments about the attitude of the officer, because in just about every story where someone is breaking the law they complain about the attitude of the officers. Don't mean to come off as putting the OP in the same category as other criminals, but you were in possession of a loaded handgun without an up to date permit, and the officer was only doing his job by confiscating it.
  3. Keep the take down screw tight and you should be fine. The 10/22 rifle versions are only attached by the take down screw from the factory, and they have longer barrels than the carbines.
  4. It's cool, I just always wondered why the tracking info never showed up, so now I know. As I said though it has never been an issue because every single order I've placed with them on items that were in stock gets delivered in 2 days without fail. Will Carry, I've ordered ammo from them before with the same 2 day delivery as everything else. Biggest thing I can say is to only order what they have in stock. If you stick to that rule you will never be unsatisfied with them. My warehouse man at work had the same opinion as you after he ordered some backorder items, but as he has now found out the same issue comes up with pretty much every online supply house that he's tried to deal with.
  5. I've replaced the firing pin already with a titanium one, that is why I was asking if a new firing pin would still have a problem sliding past the rim if the bolt was too worn. Also, you can buy the complete factory bolt assembly through Midway. They offer it in standard finish, and one the is polished on the ejection side. I went with the polished one on the carbine that I mentioned building for my step brother, and like I said so far it hasn't had a single fail to fire even using Remington bulk ammo. These are complete with factory firing pin and extractor already installed ready to stick in the rifle and go. As cheap as they are I should have just replaced the entire assembly rather than just replacing the firing pin in my old bolt. 6. Then I'm fairly confident now that it's back to being a bolt issue. This particular rifle has most likely been fired quite a bit over it's lifetime, and I should have just picked up a whole new bolt assembly from the beginning.
  7. Definately gotta be a Gremlin.
  8. Yeah "picky eater" was a poor choice of words. After thinking about it more today from what everyone has said I'm starting to lean back towards the bolt/firing pin which was what I first thought the issue was to start with. I noticed some good close pics of chambers on other rifles that have seen several rounds and I don't think that's my problem. My question now to you or Broomhead is do you think that the issue of the firing pin slipping past the rim still be a problem with a new firing pin, if it's put into a worn out bolt. My thinking to start with was that the firing pin was just worn out, which turned out to not be the case. Now that I've been thinking about it more I'm starting to think that maybe the bolt is the culprit, and could be the reason that the firing pin I took out of it was worn at that slight angle because it was allowing it to slip past the rim. I hadn't planned on taking it out shooting when I go fire this new one tomorrow, but now I think I'm going to take it along and swap bolts back and forth. Oh and to the other question, as far as I know unless the PO took it off this barrel hasn't been off of the rifle yet. I'm pretty sure the bolts are tight on the V-block but I'll double check that as well. I'm not new to swapping barrels on them, and have never had any issues with the one's that I've built or rebuilt using new barrels, but I assumed this one hadn't been removed before because of who the PO was. Heck that assuming, and being pretty sure on those things may be part of the problem.
  9. This was something I thought about trying out, but may just replace the whole bolt assembly. What lead me to thinking this could be the problem was that the factory firing pin was a little worn to where it was an angle more than flat on the end, which could have been pushing it up and past the edge of the rim. I kinda got away from the idea though after putting in the titanium firing pin only to have the exact same results. I think my next step may be pulling the factory bolt assembly out of one of my other 10/22's since the others are pretty much new now and running it in this one for a while to see how it does. Since I'm thinking of going with a complete VQ or Kidd bolt assembly in the one with the Blackhawk stock, it would leave me with a brand new factory bolt assembly laying around anyway. It's not really a too big of an issue in most cases, and I'll get it figured out eventually. It just bugs me that I recently rebuilt a very old 10/22 for my step brother that looked like it had been laying out in someone's yard for about 10 years. I had enough spare parts taken out of others laying around that all in all I may have spent maybe $50 tops to get his carbine back to nearly new condition. From that concoction of my spare parts, he's ended up with a 10/22 that hasn't had a single fail to anything using Remington bulk ammo so far, and yet with this stainless one I can't get through 3-4 rounds of hardly anything without a fail to fire.
  10. I wont even complain about shipping costs, I've had excellent service from them over the years. My only issues have been that for some reason if I track their packages the tracking numbers are always stuck saying "Billing Information Received" right up until the day the package gets delivered. I wouldn't really call it an issue with Midway though, but anything I order from others gives detailed information when I track it as soon as the package gets shipped. It's really no big deal since I know I will get it in 2 days after I place the order. The other issue is on backorders, because their estimates on when the items will be in are never even close and you can usually figure on waiting at least six months. That issue is easy enough as well, because I simply don't buy anything if they don't have it in stock anymore. I would rather check the site regularly until I see that something is available, than to keep checking on estimated delivery dates that keep getting pushed further and further out through the year.

    wow....

I agree. I would also be willing to bet that a large portion of those that say they wouldn't hit it actually would hit it if they weren't given the information on how many guys she'd been with.
  12. I suppose if it will do all of that it would be a great thing, especially if the shopping cart could tell you how much is in there, and if you only had to push it through an arch to check out instead of the clerk checking out each item. The question though would be whether these micro chips are placed in the actual item itself or just in the packaging. If they're in the item itself then I don't think I would be buying many clothes from there since someone looking for you could simply go to Wally World to find out your location. If it's only in the packaging, then it wont cut down on inventory losses from theft since a good portion of shoplifters remove items that they're stealing from the package. This can easily be accounted for inventory wise when the empty packages are found, but what if they are stuffed at the back of the shelf where they're suppose to be and don't get found for a long time. With things like that in mind I still think cycle counts would have to be done, even if they don't have to be done as often. So while I do agree it could be better, the question of how much better is what I would be asking, as well as what (if any) added costs will be placed on the consumer? If it costs a ton of money for the special carts, archways to scan items, and the micro chips, then will they have to raise prices in order to cover these costs?
  13. That's what I was thinking. No tour for me as my business will never go in that direction.
  14. I just kinda glanced over the article since the first paragraph sounded kinda ignorant to me. They have bar codes on everything, and everything that is bought or sold gets scanned, so they should be able to keep up with their inventory based on that. That's a big part of what I do for my company, and I don't need any micro chips to tell me what I need to buy for stock, or how much of each thing I have in my warehouse. But yeah, like Jamie said, just quit wearing underwear. I haven't bought any in the last ten years.
  15. My father has taken a tour of the place when he did some work for them, but other than that I was under the impression that they didn't offer any tours to the general public. I know a guy from NY that comes down from time to time that has been wanting to take a tour of the place for quite some time now. There is or was a magazine that alot of stores around here use to carry that was all Barrett that covers those AR style variants as well as their longer range rifles.
  16. I usually check in off and on during the day. Sadly I'm usually the only one there. We need a day shift crew.
  17. Worse part about that is that I have a bad habit of picking up the language of whoever I'm hangin out with, so I'd probably come back home and mention giving someone a jingle and get beaten to death. lol
  18. Yup, all of that is pretty much covered, and it never fails to feed or extract. My problems are always fail to fire, which I know is common with .22 ammo but this one seems to have them more often than any of the others. I've upgraded alot of the parts in that process as well, hammer, firing pin, etc, and still have the exact same results. Next step would be replacing the entire bolt assembly, but I honestly think my problem is the chamber because the PO didn't take good care of this rifle. It had a ton of powder build up that once cleaned left a place on the chamber which isn't perfectly machined smooth anymore. I think it's highly possible that barrel replacement would fix the problem, but I hate to do it since this is the type with the longer than normal barrel that I haven't seen in the aftermarket lists. Like I say though, it's basically just picky as far as what it will fire. Right now it's not as bad with CCI's but I know if it's a chamber issue it's only going to get worse. Any sources on getting an exact replacement for this particular barrel?
  19. Finally got my barrel in today, so here's some crappy pics of a couple of mine. First one is still a work in progress. The only thing I've done internally was polish out the factory overspray and put in a VQ buffer since I already had one, but several other things will get changed out in that department before long. I was going for light weight on this one because this stock doesn't hardly weigh a thing. I wanted to go with the BSA Sweet 22 2-7 x 32 on it, but the Simmons 22mag weighs 6oz less and since I've used the scope before and knew it was decent on a .22 I went that route. Looking back now, I could have used different scope mounting and probably made up the 6oz difference since what I've got on here now turned out to be a good size block of aluminum. As it sits right now, according to my not so accurate scales, it is exactly the same weight with the cheap heavy bi-pod attached as my stainless one without a bi-pod. And this is the one that sees alot of use. It's very accurate as it sits, but it really gets on my nerves sometimes because no matter what kinda parts I throw inside it the thing just continues to be a picky eater. Works good with CCI's though, and I still love it just the same.
  20. Like KahrMan says, only add in "co-drank" or just getting a "drank". I just use the name of what ever I want like Mtn. Dew. I do pronounce the word dog as "dawg", but in my neck of the woods if someone said a phrase using the word "jingle" they run the risk of being beaten to death unless it's referring to a Christmas song....
  21. Very true, but I would much rather see people suspecting a newly found species of being a Chupacabra, rather than to see people saying that a dog is one.
  22. Happy BDay David!! Today is also my sister's, as well as my step-sister-in-law(or whatever that would be)'s birthday.
  23. I know that type of person exactly. I know of one in particular right now that keeps talking about buying him a Glock, and he saw the perfect one for him and wants to save up the money to et it. It's a really nice Glock with pearl grips on it..............Heck, I'd like to see it too..
  24. I don't really know where you could get the exact report, but the DNA testing was done by Mike Forstner of Texas State University that shows the one tested was a canine-coyote hybrid. I would have to imagine all other DNA tests on suspected Chupacabras have come up with the same results as well, but I'm not sure where you could go to get that information. My basic point is that the tests have been done, and I haven't heard of any at all that came up with these being a new species. Again I'm still saying I do believe in the possibility of other things, possibly even Chupacabras out there. However, I don't know of any hard evidence that would prove their existance, and any sign of evidence turns out to be a dog or something similar with mange.
