  1. looks like the going price is 150-200. http://www.gunsamerica.com/949809994/Guns-For-Sale/Gun-Auctions/Rifles/Muzzleloading-Modern-Replica-Rifles/Modern-Inline/Marlin_MLS_50.htm http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=256140 http://www.gunsamerica.com/977000531/Guns/Rifles/Marlin-Rifles/Modern/Bolt-Pump/Marlin_MLS_50_Black_Powder_50_caliber.htm
  2. To make it a real classic in my book. It would have to be the FIXED choke WINGMASTER. And in the Winchester line a Model 12 fits in there better than a 1200.....
  3. I agree... Next in line would be a Winchester 1200
  4. I have the 850 CIA in Stainless. I like it, so far it has maybe 300 rounds through it with no issues. I've alos owned an 85 in blue, and in stainless. Those were also great guns. With taurus you just need to stay away from their 'older" stuff. Mid 1990's or newer and you are ok......but the older stuff was pretty bad.
  5. I did a little research on this Same pistol...Except it was a 461 (Same revolver but in blue) Ultimately I went with a totally different pistol, in a totally different caliber. Convinced my self that I didn't need 3' .357 pistols. Which gave me a reason to spend more money.....On some thing I needed... hahahaaa The thing to remember is there all ways seems to be a few bad apples in basket. And the likely hood of you getting one is VERY small. Now all we need to know is how big is the basket? In this order here are the most Common problems known with these modes. (461/462) 1. Loose screws.....(to be expected on most .357 if shot enough) 2. Firing pin breakage.....Thanks to it's location on the hammer. 3.Center pin failure....#4 is a contributing factor in most cases. 4. Timing issues.....Which most seem to contribute to shooting "full house" loads in medium frame revolver. "Personally I don't think it would make much difference." 5. I read one report......just ONE..Where the barrel came loose. http://www.gundirectory.com/more.asp?gid=20312&gun=Revolver http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=296031 Now if you are still wanting to know just what I spent my money on? It was a Nice Stainless Taurus 850 CIA. All said and done...I wish I had my Ruger Blackhawk back. It was big, heavy, accurate, and built like a tank, ready to last the rest of my life time. With no objections to any amount, or type of ammo I chose to send down its barrel.
  6. As for it being any harder....YES. Anytime you increase chamber pressure it is harder on the firearm. As for your 64, shooting +P in it on a regular basis *Might* cause the the cylinder Lock-Up to become a little loose quicker than if it was standard pressure. But that would also hold true for any +P rated fire arm also. The best thing you can do is keep it CLEAN. A dirty cylinder/Bore will contribute to excess pressure. I also called Smith and Wesson, and they told me they didn't recommend shooting +p any anything specifically rated for +P......which amounts to "a generic answer" Can't say I blame them, that way if it breaks, they can say..."Told you so....." I had a Model 10 and after 300 rounds of Remington 125 Grain +P through it. I could tell NO difference in Lock up, or Cylinder/Barrel gap. Plink with plinking ammo, and practice with what you carry. I honestly don't see you having any problems shooting +P in it. If it were mine, I would shoot them in it, and NEVER loose any sleep at night over it. Now maybe your Great Grandchildren might...
  7. I haven't sen them any where around here yet. But it looks pretty neat.
  8. pretty stuck at how to tell him he is too high? I hate telling ANYone what what their prices are.
  9. Sounds like fox BSE price range to me. But I'm not trying I'm to bring down the Value of you Firearm. But in the recent shows there were going for 3-350.00
  10. Correct...These are more geared for bolt action shooting. But you can convert the Barrel and the bolt of a Ruger 10/22LR to fire HM2. Same Process but you would need to find a 10/22Mag Rifle Than Swap Barrels, bold. ect Need any more help. I'll be glad to do it. Just PM ME
  11. I'm in Oak Ridge EVERY WEEK. Not a member the....YET. My Grand Father is, but I stay at home and shoot most of the time. $120.00 in ammo and shoot at home, or $120.00 on fees and then wait until you get more money to shoot...I've been in there with him. And would love to join. But it hard for ME to let go of my money....even harder since this gas went up.
  12. I've owned 5 of them...... They Twang, are prone to broken springs, and over state velocity claims. Having said that I'd still own another one. But would have newer springs, and seals replaced. I like to think of them as what get you in to AirGun addiction. I moved up from there to High End Springs..Beeman, ..HW Then in PCP rifles. I have some pics if any one wants to see what they can do. They're not toys any more. And I want all my PB to have triggers like my airguns.
  13. -Mint- I've seen them go in the $300.00-$350.00 range. I sold a Stevens O\U Rifle over Shotgun, And did better on them, than any of the SxS. Depends on the person more so than what book gives it. I get more out or O/U than all the the SxS I've traded and sold for.
  14. I'd have to say Ruger as well. I love all mine.
  15. That's pretty funny......
  16. A little about me. I'm 24 years old, and am a BIG Ruger fan, as well as Savage rifle fan. I live around the Knoxville area. Look forward to sharing information, and browsing the forum.
