  1. Possibly from the last Big Crunch, which was the result of the previous Big Bang. There is a Cyclic Theory of the known universe such that even though the universe is still expanding, and even speeding up doing it, it may eventually slow, combine, and collapse back into a single singularity, and the cycle begins again. - OS
  2. In fairness, only because it was tacked on to the credit card reform bill, so he had to swallow it. Tactic used by the Dems all the time, too. - OS
  3. I've only bought off eBay, but generally just over two weeks. I guess Exduct is same if that's where you got it. - OS
  4. I was momentarily tempted to buy that puppy, but ultimately feel the same way about them -- none of the advantages of either handgun or rifle. Toy is best description. - OS
  5. Thread is about a handgun. That's why I said it can't go USPS. - OS
  6. Supposedly can cause ejection/feeding issues, especially if dirty enough to not move freely. - OS
  7. One was multiple rifles in border states having special reporting. Reauthorized the Chinese rifle/ammo ban under another directive, but can get both from Russia, duh. Almost stopped the Saiga shotguns. Couple of those technically under BATF and not O directly though. But in general, you're right -- seems it's been more in suggestive comments than action. And of course I guess the biggest thing is the UN small arms restriction treaty thing he and Hildebeeste periodically harp on. - OS
  8. I'm bout 4 months out, went ahead and called them to send one while I was thinking about it. If it's automatic, guessing it might be around the 90 day mark, but may not be perfectly tuned process over there either, might vary including none at all, wouldn't surprise me. - OS
  9. Well, he spoke at NRA convention today. At least he's having to make public his "current" policy, which he'll be hard pressed to retreat from after this, even for a "waffler". http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/sns-rt-us-usa-campaign-romneybre83c1b3-20120413,0,916206.story - OS
  10. How long before expiration did you receive it? - OS
  11. Years ago my wife found a stray coon dog up in the mountains where she was working, finally brought him home. Just taking a wild shot I took him by Cas' kennels he maintained on Middlebrook at the time, see if he might find a home for it or something. Cas himself came out and damn if he didn't KNOW the dog; belonged to his Sevierville store manager or some such. - OS
  12. Slick Willy and The Peanut Farmer are on line two. - OS
  13. I'm being facetious. Knife is deadly force just like gun, legally. Although most folks would think of knife as being sorta less ... um.... final. - OS
  14. Yep, that's point why no one should feel "guilty" about receiving it. It's a crap shoot that you had no choice about anteing into. With an actual investment, you get to bequeath the money. With SSI, it's gone when you/spouse are. All that said, everything I read about it suggests that it would have been revenue neutral all along if it had actually been in investment pool where the gummit simply acted as your investment broker instead of spending every dime as it came in and leaving constantly due IOUs in the pot. - OS
  15. Well, one possible scenario: Judge says, "You cut this man to pieces". You: "Well, I was using the least force I could; after all, I could have SHOT him!" - OS
  16. However, she was not collecting in 1935. Nobody that had any immediate or even shortly to be realized vested interest in supporting passage of the legislation is still alive. Even a 100 year old today did not start collecting until 1973-77. It's really not valid to criticize folks who have had no choice about paying into the system for taking out of it. - OS
  17. Nobody who started collecting social security when it was enacted is alive today. Makes as much sense to criticize all the people who aren't yet collecting it for not putting up a fight about it, too. - OS
  18. Huge difference over time; some of the most lasting effects will be how the Supreme Court changes America. With O's justices, it'll go so far left you'll need binos to even see it. Elections still DO have consequences, and few if any the consequences of this one. - OS
  19. No, just 6 years total starting from scratch. Or 4 years on top of bachelor degree. - OS
  20. Just called 'em to send me app today, no sense waiting. So, do they automatically send you one at a certain time before expiration? - OS
  21. Wowser, really unique look; looks like a workhorse too. What steel is it? - OS
  22. What would make it illegal? - OS
  23. When you first chunk it open, even Mick would wet his pants. - OS
  24. Wait, I'll post some more Enlan and Navy models, you'll want them also!
  25. Thanks for thinking of me. And you're right, I don't have one, what's the MSRP? Actually, have seen that knife at BudK and similar for years, but believe the pistola add on is indeed trumped up. Here's probably the most outre blade I own, doubt if I'll go any wackier. That's Cold Steel Extra Large Espada G10, full size Beretta 92 for reference: - OS
