  1. I got tired of going to these because there is more jerky for sale.
  2. What Phantom said about the horrendous part.
  3. Don't forget the Evel Kneivel Wind Up motorcycle to do your own stunts.
  4. The problem is that while we may have a lot more freedom than we did 20/30/40 years ago, we also have a lot more laws that are intrusive and should never have been put in place. To many Americans are willing to sit idly by while their freedoms are eroded. I am not talking about yelling fire in a crowded theater, but what happens if you get pulled over for not having a seat belt on? You get a ticket and while that is merely an annoyance, since when did the government have the right to tell you what you can do in your own car? As long as you weren't hurting anyone else, why can't you drive without a seatbelt? We gradually allow the government to whittle away at our free thought. Political Correctness anyone? What about hate crimes. There was a boy suspended from school for hate speech because he commented about brown skinned people. As far as I am concerned, as long as you are not infringing on my right to life/liberty and the pursuit of happiness, good on ya, do what you want.
  5. Welcome from Poplar/Kirby area. I have bought a gun or two from Classic Arms. Seem like nice folks. What kind of AR's are in stock right now?
  6. I understand there is a gym in Knoxville where you can shoot, you have to be choked first but you get to shoot.
  7. I agree, trade the wifes new one and keep the Italian one.
  8. I have a Beretta 92FS that I purchased 4 years ago and I wouldn't trade it for the world. The rest of the handguns in my collection could easily become fodder for a trade but not the old reliable Beretta. Keep it. Buy the ammo and mags with cash. Wolf Performance Ammo on Cheaper than dirt 1000 rounds $250. AR 15 - 30 rd MAGS on Atlantic Firearms - $250 So yes, the "value" of the ammo and mags is about the same as the value of a 1990 Italian made Beretta, but you won't find another one for a long time.
  9. I don't recall having to have a certified copy of my birth certificate when I got mine. When did this come about? I used my TN DL as proof of who I was.
  10. Hey, stop receiving the benefits and then get the permit.
  11. Plasma Phase Rifle in 40 watt range?
  12. Asking what is a good carry gun is like asking what underwear I should buy. It is a matter of personal opinion. I would recommend going to a range that would allow you to rent the guns and see which one fits best in your hand and that you like the feel and trigger pull of. I personally like XD's and Glocks and Beretta's. That is just my opinion.
  13. Personally, I like having all the same caliber. It makes it a heck of a lot easier when you are loading mags to not get confused. Not to mention. If the fit truly hit the shan, you don't have to worry about carrying different types of ammo for different guns. You can carry all of your guns with you and help equip people that might need it.
  14. The only other hope is for the 250,000 permit holders in the state to make a vote with their wallets. Don't go to restaurants that serve by the glass. That and raising the awareness of your neighbors.
  15. Welcome from a fellow Memphian. Where can I shoot my AK that won't charge me $600 a year?
  16. The way it is explained to me is that an attorney could possibly try to trip you up in court by saying you qualified with a .22 and then went around carrying a .50 that you didn't know how to use and you recklessly endangered everyones lives when you shot his poor client. Personally, I didn't do it and I carry all different types of guns. It's a feel good addition and isn't worth $25. In my opinion, anyone that really wants to know can go pull the records from RangeUSA or Wal-Mart and figure out how much ammo and range time I have had since I got my permit.
  17. Category killer? Any pistol in caliber .22. Used by many mafia types to neutralize "threats" quickly. The cheaper the better because it can be thrown away. Preferably a revolver as no casings are left behind.
  18. I recently made a trade with another forum member in the McAllisters parking lot in Germantown. I made out a simple form that on this day I traded one Springfield Armory Model 1911 Serial number XXXXXXX for One Springfield Armory model XD-9 Serial number XXXXXXX to Im-Neero. I made two copies. I signed both, he signed both. We both asked each other the standards questions from the 4473 form. I keep a copy, he keeps a copy. That way, should there ever be an issue, the cops will know where to go if they need to.
  19. That and they keep you up all night.
  20. Sorry, my advanced age didn't grasp what GMTA meant. I had to google it.
  21. GMTA? That or we both have animals or children that we want to keep out of something.

    AK Choice

I wouldn't know. The WASR that I bought in January is as yet unfired.
  23. Well, some people set their Christmas tress up in a child's Pack and Play. It keeps the kids out and might keep that cat out. You could get the "invisible fence" system for dogs and put it around the tree, then he would get a nice zap every time he got within 3 feet of the tree.
  24. I can recall the first time I went out with my gun after getting the permit. I was a bit nervous. I felt like everyone "knew" that I was carrying. Now the only time I have any worries is when my cover garment pulls up a little in a place that is "iffy" for carrying. Like the zoo with its incorrect signage. Congratulations you two. It would seem that the state probably prints permits up on the 15th of the month. If you were to get the paper work in on the first you might be lucky enough to make it in to that round. Otherwise you will be waiting until the next months printing. I could be wrong though.
  25. I can, but with the few drivers testing facitlities that we have here it is quicker to drive to Jackson then wait in line in Memphis.
