1. I think you'll find "best" barrel length to be highly subjective. My favorite length AR pistol I've built is a 10.5". Short enough to still be very compact, but with a OAL long enough for me to use a forward vertical grip. I've heard it said some have trouble with getting shorter barrels like 7.5 inches to run right, but I wouldn't pay any attention to that. An AR is an AR regardless. I built one as a 7.5", but I found myself almost being forced to grip the magwell with my support hand because the barrel and handguard were so short and I didn't shoot it very well. Just my experiences. I find that with the longer barrel of the 10.5" it's easier for me to use almost my normal hand positioning and be more accurate with the weapon. I can make hits with it easily out to 200 yards.
 2. Alright who's going to tell me how to upload video or let me email them a clip to post? Tapatalk keeps giving me an error message. It's no review or anything but it is a few second clip of me getting about a 10 round string off
 3. It does come with the nut. As far as a sling swivel I think you'd have to drill a hole for it I'm afraid
 4.
How's the weight on that KVP comp? With the fluting, I'd suspect it's at least 25-30% lighter. Did you have to use a crush washer?
I don't have an exact number, but it's light. I can't see it weighing more than an A2 flash hider, but I have no precise way of measuring. As for the crush washer, the device doesn't have to be timed at all so I don't think you should need one unless the threading on your barrel is so long that it won't butt up against the shoulder. I used one purely out of habit I think
 5.
Question - which handguards did they get? Those round ones in the $50-$60 price range look really good if actually free-floating. Can't tell how they mount to the gun.
This is the exact one. http://www.del-ton.com/Free_Float_Tube_p/hg1024.htm They mount using their own barrel nut (uses regular wrench) that is threaded on the outside diameter and the handguard just threads onto the nut. Very easy install.
 6.
I bought a cheapy from amazon expecting to get what I paid for. I used it for 3gun, and it worked great. I don't have an expensive one to compare it to, but it definitely reduced the muzzle rise and made for faster follow -up shots. I'll try one of the bigger names some day, but for me this one is better than a flash hider at $16.46 shipped. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C6O5BV6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
He's wanting a linear compensator
 7. I've ran the KX3 on a 7.5", and I'm currently running the Kaw Valley on my 10.5". I can tell you without a doubt that I'd never spend the money for a flaming pig again. It's heavier, more expensive, and if it does a better job of directing sound it's marginal at best. I like Noveske stuff a lot, but I won't get another pig
 8. I've ordered a few of their vented handguards directly from them in the last year, no problems for me. My dad and uncle both really liked the handguards to boot :)
 9.
It's 26.0", fellers. - OS
Know it all. I was just being safe ;)
 10.
I have 2 of the newer SBX braces on order. Can hardly wait for them to arrive.I don't understand why anyone that uses these would find it important to remain over 26.5" OAL. Isn't the whole point to allow legal use of a shortened AR via the pistol definition?
As mentioned above, if the firearm in my picture was under 26.5", I would have an AOW on my hands. I'm use a vertical grip the way some people use magpuls AFG, so it's important that I continue that on this weapon as well
 11.
Hahaha, I totally missed that one. In that case, uniform is ranger panties and a light coat of oil.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can almost certainly assure you that will not be the case lol
 12. Meh, it doesn't have enough contact point on the rear for the way I use my brace. But you're right, competition is good for business
 13.
A Slide Fire or the one in the OP?
The bump fire from the OP. I've tried it on my M&P 15-22 but I need to lighten the trigger up for it to work on the 22lr
 14. Trying to edit a post of mine today
 15. The wife bought me one for our anniversary. If I can get the hang of it this Saturday, I'll gladly post a video here of it
 16.
Did you miss last season? They suck in spades, but this week they got a win, and UT got their butts handed to them, so I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts.
You're not one of these folks that believes that since they beat TN a couple of years they're on their way to becoming a college football dynasty are you?
 17.
so a 10.5 upper will get to the magical 26.5" overall? That's going to be my next build
They key to that is the KAK extended tube for the Sig brace, it's longer than a regular pistol tube. But yep, it meets the required length
 18.
hey kk what length barrel are you running on that one in the pix?
That's a 10.5"
 19.
How do you like the KAW? I've got a Levang and am quite happy considering the size and cost, but I do like the looks of those as well.
Today was my first day out with it, and I won't lie it took me a little bit of getting used to with it throwing that flame. But other than the flame, I thought it directed noise rather well. Recoil was straight back. I'd compare it to the Noveske flaming pig I had on a 7.5", just a ton lighter and much less expensive
 20.
Need to keep working to get the magic back.
I'm sorry, but I have to ask. When has Vandy's football program ever had any magic?
 21.
That looks more like a flame thrower than a pistol!!!!
Indeed. Cloudy day and perfect camera timing. I suppose with some sort of flash hider or muzzle brake it would decrease, I'm using the Kaw valley precision linear comp currently
 22. Posted this elsewhere, but here's mine in action today
 23.
Same here, got this message this am. Tried a reinstall, no luck.
Ditto
 24. Nevermind
 25. Rest in peace indeed.
