  1. Hi Buddy, sounds like Molly is about as spolied as Kasey is. I only read one thing that alarms me in your post and that is the Chicken Jerky Treat. My old Vet and the new one I have had for about 6 or 7 years both told me not to feed Kasey any Chicken Jerky pet products because they are making dogs sick and even killing them. Back about 10 years ago I was feeding her Chicken Jerky from Waggin Trails and they were being made in America. Then one day I picked up a bag of them and caught my eye was Made in China. I put them back on the shelf and when I got home I looked on the bags I had here and all of them said made in America. I went on line and did some research and learned that Waggin Trains (Nestle-Purina) was being sued by people for making their dogs sick and read some horror stories about what people were going through with their dogs. Read this one article and see if you still trust any Jerky treats for dogs cause I don't....jmho http://www.poisonedpets.com/theyre-back-waggin-train-pet-jerky-treats-poised-poison-pets/ Make sure you read all the comments at the bottom of the post!!!!
  2. Glad to know your dogs have you to care for them. I spend about the same on kasey as I do on myself each month in the way of food and meds. It works out fairly well since she eats what I eat and we can share. Yea, I do eat alot of chicken but I never knew how many different ways you can prepare it till I began feeding her chicken as a pup. She only gets hers cooked in crock pot and I cook mine in some other way and add veggies. I buy all my Chicken Breasts at Sams in 8lb bags and buy 4 to 5 bags a month when I go. I get her Jerky turkey Treats there also. I have to order her Turkey Sticks on line as Sams does not sell them. Now as for her ears! When she was about a year old she got out of the yard and into the road in front of the house and a car hit her with just a glancing blow and car had one of those cushion style bumpers plus the drivers was trying to stop before hitting her so might have been doing less than 10MPH. It was enough to roll her over in yard across the road. Car continued on but neighbor across the road got my attention to her laying in the yard. I went to get her and she was laying but her head was up and she was trying to wag her tail and as I picked her up she licked my face and didn't cry out in pain so that was a good sign. Neighbor lady told me she didn't get hit hard but just enough to bump her off into her yard. Before she got hit both of her ears stood up. Since she got hit her right ear has laid down but when she is alerted to a noise or a car pulls in both ears are standing up so she can stand it up when she wants to. She has never forgot that day because when I go get the mail out of the box she will follow me to the corner of the front house and from then on just watch me till I get the mail and come back to the corner of the house and then she will come back to the cottage we live in and loves to stretch out on an old hard kitchen floor and I tell her she looks like an old fat hog and her tail wags a few times and she never raises her head. I will try and get a picture of her when she is doing to hogg routine.
  3. Kasey use to love Frisbee in her younger days and she will still play ball these days....................for about 5 minutes.....................LOL. She will still chase squirrels for about 10 feet and Rabbits about the same distance and then comes in and sleeps for an hour or so but I figure that is what most old fat folks do so she it acting true to form............LMAO
  4. I bet she does not do it as easy as you do!!!! When I first began using this new Vet back about 7 years ago on our first visit the Vet took a picture of her skeleton to compare what she should weigh verses what she did weigh at the time and she say Kasey's proper weight should be about 29-31 lbs and that she was 40 lbs over weight. She asked me what I fed here and about 1/2 way through the list she was laughing and said ok , I get the idea! Shes a Junk food Junkie and I said well it's not really junk food. Chicken Breast cooked up in a crock pot for her suppers along with a couple grilled burgers instead once in a while. She would not eat dog food at all period. I spent a small fortune buying dog foods and she would turn her nose up at everything. Ended up giving them to friends that had normal dogs. For her snacks I buy 1 pound bags of Jacks Links Turkey Jerky and Turkey Sticks and she does love Alpo Snaps dog biscuits but on the little bites. I made the mistake of buy the big bites by accident and she would not eat them so they went to friends also. The Vet told me that the stuff I was feeding her does not seem to be hurting her and she was healthy back then except for being fat so she didn't tell me to change anything but just cut back a little on the snacks. I was shocked when I added that medicine to her Chicken last night and she hogged it down. Normally I can't get her to eat anything with medicine in it. The Vet said that most dogs will eat this because it actually has an appetite enhancer in it and dogs love it. Well will see how long she goes before she realizes I'm putting it in her food and she turns her nose up at it. Only time will tell.
  5. Ok, Kasey finally came back in the house for a snack lunch and I was able to get fresh pictures of her............lol. That bed she is laying on is a memory foam matress and her favorite quilt which I am not allowed to wash. Made that mistake about 3 years ago and she would not sleep on it till I took it out and rolled it around in back seat of Jeep till it smelled like her again. As you can tell she is a little over weight. According he Vet she should weigh about 32 lbs and she weighs 72 yesterday.
  6. Thanks to all of you for the kind words about my spoiled mutt. Yea she will be 17 in November and one of my friends expressed his concern about a year ago while we were having coffee that Kasey and I have a bond like he has never seen. He said I honestly believe you know what each oher is thinking about. He said what I am afraid of is if we lose either one of you we will lose both because the other will grieve themselves to death. I said well if I go first you make sure you take good care of her and he said I knew I was going to be the one elected because you have had me in training for about the last 6 months about her foods and treats and everything else. I said Yep! Mark said I need to post a picture of her. I will try but she is totally camera shy!! Ok I found 1 of her about 6 years ago and I will try and get an updated one of her to post when she is not watching me cause if she is watching she will turn her head.
  7. A 4.10 shotgun is a great gun for shooting just about any kind of birds from clays to Ducks over decoys and Pheasants. Quail can be a challenge but it can be done and if she is busting 20 + I would say she would give Quail a run for their money also. I loved the challenge hunting birds with my 4.10 Pump gun back when I was able to hunt. Hope she likes her 12 gauge. What kind of 12 gauge did she settle on and buy?
  8. I can't remember when BPS opened in Nashville but I can tell you exactly how many times I have been in it. 4 times and every one of those I was rding with someone else and they just decided on a spare of the minute to stop in for something. I have made a purchase each time. OutBoard Motor oil for my Skeeter Bass boat. They do have a good price on it. As far as me driving to BPS to actually shop will never happen. I have heard to many horror stories about them like this thread by OP right here.
  9. Well Vet visit is over and her vet figured out that she had glands that were full and they emptied them and she said that they did a test that showed a bacteria in his intestinal tract. She provided me with a 30 day supply of probiotic supplement to be put in her food to correct the issue. She got her first dose of it with her supper and will get 29 more in next 29 days. Keeping fingers crossed it works. Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I know some folks may think it's just a dog but she has been with me for going on 17 years come November. Many of my buddies tell me she has me trained really good to do her bidding.............LOL. I can't really argue with them as she is quite spoiled for sure.
  10. Going to make a run to the Vet today. Kasey has been having issues with going potty recently so going to get her checked out. Praying it is diet related and I can just change her diet but never know till get her checked. Maybe I know it might be sounding silly but would appreciate a few prayers for me and her. She has been with me a very long time and is my best friend for sure. Thanks Bersaguy aka Doug
  11. Probably suffering from hang overs. Not eclispe Hang overs but probably Budweiser"s
  12. I did not watch the eclispe because I was pouring a bait order I got and was thrilled to get as bait business has been off quite a bit but I did keep an eye on the bait room window. When it got total dark I got up and went to the door and let Kasey look out. She went out and looked around a minute or two. Barked aout 3 times when I told her to look and then she just came ack in house. That is a routine she goes through every night when we get ready for bed. She goes out and makes er rounds barking at checking to make sure all the bad guys are gone and then comes back inside. My guess is she thought it was time to go to bed for the night. I gave her a treat for doing guard dog duties and went abck pouring baits. The beagle hound next door was howling at the darkness.
  13. RIP! He was a great comic and a very caring person and fought very hard for his kids with MD. He will be missed!!
  14. Sorry to hear that. Hope and prayers to your wifes grandmother.
  15. I would say poor timing on the part of thousands of folks that thought Tennessee had roads that could handle the kind of traffic this act of GOD is going to create. My Jeep will not be moving today..................
  16. I shop at Krogers for my groceries and earn points. They also have days that is double points day so when you check out you get double your points and they have days that certain items are triple points that day. On normal points you get 10 cents off for every $100.00 you spend on food and other items. You points add up for the month and you have till the end of the following month to use them of you lose them. July was the month they ran a bunch of bonus buys and triple points days they had 200 points for filling out a survey which I did and the points added up to 1000. I guess I have done it three times in past several years but I average getting between 50 and 70 cents off a gallon every month. All you need is a Kroger card to begin saving points.
  17. I sincerely hope your right buddy about never using those type weapons again but as long as a human has access to one there is always a chance it will happen and no one is willing to give them up that has them and places like NK and Iran along with a couple other countries being part of the HUMAN RACE is very debatable..................JMHO
  18. Thanks to all of you that have give or will in the future. I didn't give to "Go Fund Me" because his step dad and he are bait customers of mine along with being friends so I just sent a check to him directly so "Go fund Me" won't get the 8% they take out of it. If anyone would like to send funds directly in a check of Money order I have checked with Ross and he said I could give out his address to anyone that wanted to do that. So if you want to give that way just PM me. Thanks a bunch folks Doug aka Bersaguy
  19. I topped off my Jeep Friday and then filled five 5 gallon gas cans because i had a $1.00 off a gallon at Krogers and got my 35 gallon limit for $37.45...........................
  20. I could park at least 25 cars in my parking area in front of my house and have a huge back yard. I did invite one TGO member that mentioned he was looking for a place to view it from but I ain't having a bunch of strangers parking at my house................JMHO
  21. Well lets just say compared to Ashley she is one. Hows that?
  22. Thanks you very much and I hope more folks can find it in their hearts to give. Regardless of how much or how little! It all helps!! Thanks Bersaguy aka Doug
  23. I have not hunted Squirrels in probably 20+ years. I used to always have a couple dozen in the freezer but moved inside the city and can't hunt them and son lives to far away now for me to go and hunt his place for them. I do have a bunch of them all around my house and yard and it was kind of funny. When I first moved here almost 18 years ago I only had 1 very small gray squirrel that would come out in back yard out of fence row and lokk and dig trying to find food. Once day while at TSC I saw a squirrel feeder on sale so I bought it and some squirrel mix and put it up in back yard on a tree. It took the little squirrel to get on it and I watched him and I busted out laughing when I realized he was to small to open the lid and get a piece of food out of it. He was a determind but finally gave up. That night after sun went down I made a small platform and attached it to the tree and put some food on it. The next morning I was drinking coffee and here came the little squirrel up the tree and onto that platform. He ate about every thing on it. Evidently he told a friend cause next day I had two show up. 1 bigger one that could open the lid and the little one that ate on the platform. Those 2 was all I had that winter. The following Fall was a lot different. I think they must have called all their kin folks cause I could not keep the feeder and platform full as they would empty it in a day. I went back up to TSC and got 2 more feeders and another bag of food. That bag of food lasted about 10 days. I did some research and learned that squirrels were corn eaters also so I bought a 50 pound bag of whole kernel corn and came home and dumped it in a big plastic trash can I bought for the food. The little critters ate a hole in the can lid and we getting inside eating the corm. We to TSC and bought to metal trash cans. Filled one with squirrel food and 1 with bird seed and put up 5 hanging bird feeders and today I have a total of 8 bird feeders and 5 Squirrel feeders that I will begin putting food in come fall after I take the Hummingbird feeders down..............LOL I get a lot of enjoyment now just watching all the wild life I have here.
  24. It has always been big money area around Franklin, Grassmere and Brentwood area almost all the way back to Melrose in Nashville on Franklin Road. The Country Western Tour buses use to take people around that entire area because Hank Williams Sr. Minnie Pearl, Ronnie Milsap, Waylon Jennings just to name a few live between Nashville Melrose and Brentwood and the rest all bought from Brentwood to Franklin. I think Naomi Judd owns a small mini farm spread in Grassmere if I am not mistaken.
  25. Not quite yet but if Ashley Judd moves back home to Franklin that will be when it will happen. I bet her mother is ashamed of her daughter. Her mother is a great and proper lady and her youngest daughter is a tramp............JMHO
