Thanks to all of you folks for the uplift in my spirit with your prayers and good wishes. I cannot say I am looking forward to the surgery but with all the well wishes and prayers it is beginning to make me want to get it done and behind me. Just keep them thoughts and I will be fine.........................

I can agree with that but in most other religions they will shun away from the ones that use the religion for evil. In most of the Muslim / Islamic people they stay silent because of the few that might be peaceful, for every peaceful one there are 10,000 radical ones so how do you know who to trust and who will cut your head off if possible. Their belief is death to all infidels and unless you are Islamic/Muslin or a converted one you are an infidel and the enemy..............jmho

I would like to ask folks here a question? Don't want to be discriminating and don't want it to seem so. My question is how many folks here feel that we should be made and or forced to accept the Muslin/Islamic religion as a peaceful non violent religion when we have been shown different so many times? If the Islamic faith is so non violent how come almost every terrorist attack such as the one in France last week and let us not forget it was made clear that every one of the terrorists were either reading aloud from the Qur'an or quoting from it just before all the planes crashed on 9/11? Also the cartoonist and people killed in France were killed for the Islamic faith to Mohammad. If this post is unacceptable or out of line please remove it

Shopper tackles man with gun at Wal-Mart

Well in my opinion every one of those people that had something mouthy about a legal HCP man with a gun being attacked all need to go home and place a GUN BUSTER sign on all of their doors and windows and see how long it takes the bad guys to locate them and give them all a learning experience..............jmho -
One successful suicide Bomber is one to many, One innocent person killed by things of this nature is 1 two many, Two Boston Bombers were 2 two many. When you start looking at it as a one time incident where lives could or have been lost your failing to realize that if one person can do this today so can 100 more in a week or month if it is not addressed properly the first time. Where would our country be if all of the security around air travel had not been taken after 9/11. We would still have crazy Virgin seeking maniacs flying planes into buildings killing 1000's of Americans............jmho

I watched reruns of Counting cars during the speech. Didn't want to listen to a bunch of lies added to all the lies he has already told in his first 6 years in office. The people spoke last November with a voice at the polls that should have been clear and precise that a bunch of American people are sick and tired of this Clown N Chief being the Clown N Chief. I'm all for just firing him now if the Congress can figure out a way to do it and just deal with ole idiot double barrel JOE. The clown is a LAME DUCK and the Congress will do everything in their power to block anything he attempts to do for next 20 month. Pay him off and send him packing.Just don't allow him to finish destroying the middle class that has still be struggling and hoping to hold out till he is gone. Help give them support till he is gone........jmho

Well, I have know a few snipers over the years and had one on my team in Nam. I learned a lot from him. The most important thing I learned is a lot of being a really good Sniper does require a certain type of person as much as the rifle in which he uses. Because we were shooting in the jungle he was trained on an M40A1 and that was what he used our entire time over there. With that said it only took me about two missions and I was completely comfortable with Arthur on high ground watching our backs. He never missed but always seemed to not want to be very sociable either with any of the rest of the team. We just took him at face value and let it rest at that. Last thing any of the team knew about him after returning home was he purchased a fairly large piece of land in Saskatchewan Canada and had no roads in or out of it. He went in by horse back and never came out as far as we know.

This is the exact reason I have been searching for ever for a shoulder holster I want and have not been able to find one in over three years of looking. I really want a tuxedo style cross my back shoulder to shoulder style with a vertical drop but all I have found is horizontal insert holsters............ -
Well all the doctors including a new Cardiologist team have concluded that I can have stint surgery instead of cutting me open and they have also concluded that I have no major blocked arteries but 3 secondary arteries that can be treated with medication and does not require any stints. One of the stint companies came up with a solution to my problem with doctor thinking their stints they had on hand might not work and the stint company provided the doctor with a plan of using two stints rather than one. The Stint company said this type of repair has been done hundreds of times with great success with Abdominal Aneurisms greater then 6 centimeters. So now I am scheduled to get to the hospital on the 27th at 11AM and operated on at 1 PM so will be out of pocket about 3 and no more than 4 days in hospital and then back home if everything goes as planned. So I guess I sure would appreciate it if ya'll could remember me and say a few prayers.

"Quote" I studied engineering; they studied causin trouble and changin the world. No offense and hope none taken. I'm glad you got your education for sure. But I think the people that were changing the world back then was the 58,000+ that were fighting and dying before the age of 20 in a country which we had no business being in at all. Many of those young men never got a chance to go to college because they received their draft notices before the summer of their graduation was even over.................jmho

And then they wonder why Police react as they do when someone points a gun at them. These are very dangerous times for all of us and not just police. We are all a possible victim at any time and any place. It is very important to stay vigil when outside the home and in some cases inside the home as well.............jmho

Just another little tip I learned over the many years of being a mechanic. I found that adding battery acid to a low battery is much better than adding water because very soon the water added will dilute the acid content of the battery causing failure. You can buy battery acid at most all parts stores in small quantities and invest in a water bottle designed to put water or acid in batteries. I ran my first set or Deep cycle Stowaway trolling motor batteries in my Skeeter Bass boat 9 trouble free years just by adding acid instead of water to them when low...........................jmho

It is very easy to check for a drain on battery when truck is not running. Turn off everything in truck. Take positive cable off battery and hook a simple 12 volt test light between positive battery cab;e and other end to positive post of battery. If it lights up you have a short or a drain somewhere in your electrical system. If you want to check further with the test light still hooked up just begin pulling fuses from fuse panel 1 at a time and see if any of them shut the light off. If one does that will give you an idea which circuit the problem is in. If the light stays on after all the fuses have been pulled then the issue will be either in your starter or your alternator because neither one of them are fused...............just kind of a simple test...................jmho

Single action revolvers for carry purposes?
bersaguy replied to suspiciousmind's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Back when my buddy Dave and I hunted small game such as rabbits we both wore Single action 22's in western style fast draw holsters with tie straps on our legs. I guess I may have been about 12 years old when I was finally good enough to actually carry it hunting. Began at 10 years old with a Colt SA with 5 inch barrel and probably shot a 1000 rounds through it by age 12 and my buddy Dave had a Ruger with a 6 inch barrel. For about 4 or 5 years we killed a lot of rabbits with them. Hunting over Beagles made it much easier. Rabbits would always in most cases make a big circle and run fast enough to get way ahead of the dogs and then they would stop and rest. That was when we got most of them with the pistols. We also had our shotguns for the running and jumping shots. That was one of the gun that got stolen when they burglarized our home in 86. I had that Colt a long time. -
Handgun Permits - County by County
bersaguy replied to waynesan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I know a great many gun owners that do not have carry permits because they don't want to be on a list of gun owners. Many of them bought their guns long before the back ground checks began and don't feel it's any of the governments business if they own guns. I think that falls true in most cases for a large amount of the population across the nation...............jmho -
I have found over the years that everyone handles tragedies and victories in their own way. I also have learned not to criticize anyone for the way they handle any situation. It is part of survival of dealing with comfort or discomfort. That falls in the category of being judgmental and I try my best not to be a person that does that...............jmho

Don't get me wrong. I have the utmost respect for any and all calibers equally. I have also been shot back in Nam and none of it was pleasant at all. I would be in fear of looking at the wrong end of a muzzle of any caliber pointed at me from a 22 right up and beyond a 45 Caliber. I would have respect for all without question.

Come on folks!!! Did you really believe that the Russians would stay out of the Nuclear business? Did you really think the Cold war was ever really over??? I never believed it for a minute and never will. And the Russians have been playing with this administration like a child plays with puppets on strings since the very beginning. I doubt that the next administration will be any better at working with Russia either............jmho

I think most churches live under a belief that GOD will protect them and there is no need for guns in church. Maybe to a point GOD will protect the church. But tell me how many people hyped up on drugs believe in GOD and would not walk into a Church just like a Convenient Store and rob and possibly kill someone.............

seems when I find .22lr it is brands I have never heard of. Geco .22lr
bersaguy replied to vontar's topic in General Chat
A few years back I made a purchase from DLM (David) of 22lr ammo long before he had the bucket and brick sale and they were Scorpion Ammo. Went to the range with my 22 Phoenix's and my 22 Marlin semi auto rifle and the ammo performed flawlessly in all guns and was very accurate. It was not a brand I was familiar but I figured it must be a quality product or David would not be selling it. Turned out to be great ammo. -
I only have one question and that is why are so many people down on 380 caliber weapons. I own 3 at present time and I have went shooting out at my son in laws brother farm who is an FFL dealer. While at his range we shot water jugs filled with water and at the same distance shooting pretty much same ammo brand he supplied. My 380 performance was almost so close to the performance of his 9mm on the targets that you could not see a difference. After we were done shooting Matt said that many people don't give the 380 the respect they deserve and he does not know why. I don't either........................

Video of a Break-In and Shoot Down

The front door of my house is made of wood inside and has a metal shell on outside. I had a buddy install install two (2) Dead bolts in it recently for added protection. All I had at the time was door knob lock. I told him I wanted real security dead bolts. He picked up some at Lowes and came to install them. He had them all keyed to my door knob lock so only need 1 key to unlock all three. What he thought was going to be a 1 hour job turned into a three hour job. He said he has never seen a door made like this one when it came to making the lock holes and then he said that the door frame was a double reinforced one also. I live in a cottage that was a concrete block garage until it was converted into a cottage and everything it made for security. The door frame is bolted into the block frame. The dead bolt locks he bought insert almost 2 inches into the door frame when locked. If someone does want in bad enough I am sure they will get in but hope that have a hour in which to work at it. Plus for added security he put the dead bolts about 6 inches above and below the door handle. I feel much better knowing I have those locks..............jmho
