I'm looking for some really comfortable all around slip on pair of shoes and I am wondering how many folks here are wearing Sketchers and wanting to see if they are all they claim to be before I drop $70.00+ on a pair of shoes. Are there any folks here that can give an opinion on them????

Believe me Grayfox. I went through very much the same issues back when I was filing for my disability. I fought them for 5 years and kept getting denied on every appeal. I will tell you just a little on how desperate it was for them to say no that they decided to send me to 2 of their own doctors since they refused to believe mine. I went to 2 of their doctors at Vanderbilt Hospital and they gave me a complete examination and when they filed their reports both said I should be approved and they should begin my disability imediately and they denied me even when their own doctors said I should be approved. I finally turned to my representative back then which was a man named Bart Gordon. I actually got to meet with him and he said he would look into it. The Social Security office contacted me and offered me a deal. They said if I would accept 1 year of back pay and drop 4 they would begin my check the month coming. I was tired of fighting them and my savings was about depleted and I thought some was better than another denial so I took the deal. They did do me 1 favor and I don't know if they realized it or not but they put me on SSI for the first 6 months which got me Tenn-Care insurance cause I didn't have any any for 1st 6 months my check came through SSI and not Social Security but I got my first check that month. Took a beating on my back pay but at least I got 1 year and my check started and had an income.

One thing was for sure. The officer had no intentions of letting them get away short of his own injury. I don't know what the protocol is in Vegas but that was one very determind officer to bring the bad guys to justice period. They said the bad guys fired 34 times and I think the officers fired 31 rounds and they said only 1 civilian car was hit with some rounds.

Celebration may be a little premature but still good news. My son Ronnie went over to the sheriffs office today to talk with the sheriff about the guns. The serial numbers match what I reported back in 1988 so thats the good news. Not so good news is the drug raid was a DEA raid which means the Feds have the guns and not the Sheriffs office. The Sheriff was the one that reported that the guns were reported stolen back in 1988 by a Cheatham County resident and requested that they be place in his care but because it was a Federal case the Feds have the guns and it could be upwards of a year before we get them back which will be after the trial. I have no clue how long this can be dragged out but I am still optimistic they will be home soon. At least we know they have them.

This is a little long and a little old but still remains of many country folks. Back in about 1970 a guy came down from New Jersey. His last name was Harris. He purchased 150 acres of prime timber and hunting land and he posted all of it with no trespassing signs and no hunting signs and he had a smaller camper type living quarters placed on the land. At the time he had the only posted private land in that whole area and when hunting season came people went hunting and those signs didn't slow them down. The people hunting that land had been hunting that land for generations. Well there was a local man and his two sons where hunting one moring after a snowfall and Mr. Harris had come in before the snow and was staying in that little camper. He heard gun shots so he goes out to investigate what it was and the father and 2 sons had 3 deer down and we dragging them back to the old pick up truck. Mr Harris saw them off in the distance and hollered for them to stop. The father told his two sone to keep dragging and he began to drop back slowly. Mr Harris was moving towards them and he hollered again for them to stop and just about that time a gunshot went off and a small tree limb fell right next to Mr Harris. He turned around and began going back the way he came and the man went back and joined up with his 2 sons and they loaded their deer in the truck and left. The truck was to far away for Mr Harris to tell what brand it was and all he had was a Royal blue color to report to the police. Police ran all over the roads for 20 square miles looking for a truck matching the description given and they didn't find anything. About noon the pedestrian door of the mans garage opened up and the local game warden walked in while the man and his 2 sons where still processing the deer. A conversation took place between the warden and the man. The game warden left and nothing ever came of that incident. The game warden spoke to the sheriff and the sheriff called off the search for the truck. The Sheriff, the game warden and Mr Harris went into a room to discuss the days events. It was explained to Mr Harris that the land he purchased had been hunted by the local folks in that area for several generations and that deer hunting mean't many families would have meat for the year that otherwise would not. Mr Harris was still not phased and said the man shot at him and could have killed him. The game warden looked at Mr Harris and said if the man would have wanted you dead you would be dead. He just wanted to you to leave them alone. Mr Harris said then you know who it is and they said yes and no, we are not going to arrest him. Harris was ferious until the game warden told him he started this fight with those signs and he will contnue to have these issues in the future because unless he wants to hire private security to protect his land he will have people hunting it. I was gone when all of this had happened but was sitting around one day after I got home and was talking to one of the mans sons that was with him that day that I had went to school with. His father had died of a heart attack a few years later. I never did find out what ever happened to Mr. Harris other than there is a road that leads off the main road named after him. I don't condone the actions of the man and his sons for their actions but it all started because an outsider that had grown up in a complete different lifestyle and beliefs had came into an area without taking the time to learn the lifestyles of who would one day be his neighbors and began to try and change the lifestyles of his new neighbors...............JMHO

Just put camera's on the dogs and watch the fun when bad guy is trying to climb a tree with dog holding on to his butt!!

I think they figure they have a chance of out running you and if you catch them your not going to bite them several times like a K-9 will plus they know they can't out run them................

We have always thought it was someone that knew us and knew what was going on in or lives at that point they knew we were staying at the hospital as my son was declared terminal from the night of the accident so we were not leaving him. My brother was going by the house to get things we needed and bringing them to the hospital. He told me about the break in and that the gun cases were empty cause I didn't have a gun safe back then. I told my brother where to find the list of all the guns and serial numbers and he went and filed the report for me. That sheriff at the time was a friend of mine so he sent a team over to my house and they finger printed the gun cases but they must have been wearing gloves cause there was no prints except imediate family in the house. My home owners insurance did not cover the guns. They told me I would have to add a seperate policy for them and I never got around to doing it.

Honesty after 30 years I had given up ever hearing any word about the guns but I guess miracles do come true if you wait long enough!!! I'm betting the guys that were caught with them are not and were not the burglars that stole them. My guess is they were traded for drugs. Either way I will be getting at least the 4 back. Have no idea what shape they will be in but does not matter right now. Just knowing that 12 gauge is in the 4 is enough for me right now..

I just got off the phone with Ronnie (my son) down in Kingston Springs in Cheatham County. He just got off the phone with the Sheriff down there. The Sheriff told Ronnie that they have recovered 4 of the guns that were stolen from our home back in 1988 when they burglarized our home while we were at the hospital with my oldest son that was in a coma from and auto accident. They recovered all long guns. The most important one was recovered which is my dead sons Winchester model 1200 12 gauge. They also recovered my younger sons 20 gauge Winchester 1200 , my Mossberg 4.10 Pump and a Marlin 30/30. They said the investgation is on going and they hope to learn where more of them are. There is only 4 more long guns out there and all the rest are hand guns. The only gun out of all was my dead sons Winchester Pump that I really wanted back. I had bought it and my other sons 20 gauge for Christmas 3 years prior to my sons accident. I bought all 3 of those shotguns at Speciality Arms in LaVergne a couple years after they opened up for business and they were running a special on Winchesters. I wanted a pump 4.10 for a couple years so bought the Mossberg and because I was buying the other two guns they gave me a package deal on 3 guns. I remember having to take the 4.10 back because it would shoot around corners. When I told the guy it would shoot around corners he laughed but took the gun in the back to their range and test fired it 3 times. He came back out with a new Mossberg in a box and handed me 5 boxes of 4.10 ammo. He said you are correct sir. It does shoot around corners. He said the barrel was evidently bent from the factory. Very nice folks to do business back then. They have grown a lot since I bought the shotguns. I really wanted it back most of all. They said they will be returned after the case is closed but at least I now know it will be coming home eventually where it belongs. All they could tell Ronnie right now is they were discovered in a home in Cumberland Furnace during a drug bust raid on a house there and the occupants were arrested for dealing drugs out of the house. My son ask if he could give him the names of the drug dealers but he said he could not because it is an ongoing investigation. Ronnie was trying to see if it was someone he knew. Will keep ya'll updated as I learn more.

Are you really gonna give that much credit to thugs that they would think there are guns in the house?? They blow past the gun buster signs in stores and rob them all the time. Do you think a gun buster house would slow them down????? Your realy giving them way to much credit for being smart............... I have a sign in my front window with a picture of a shotgun that says: Private Property! I have posted it to you in english! Do I need to say it in 12 gauge!!! I don't really have a shotgun. I have 2 of them.

Well in most every mass shooting the person owning and operating the place was evidently not to smart because about 95% of them also had no gun signs up but it didn't stop the bad guys going in with their guns did it? In MY HUMBLE OPINION the signs are an invitation or a welcome mat for the bad guys. Back years ago I had a friend that owned an auto repair center and his business was much larger than his building and he had to leave customers cars out side under security lights. It didn't stop the thieves from stealing Mag wheels, Stereos and anything else of value they could find. His insurance company told him 1 more hit and they would be dropping him. We were talking about it and I told him to hire some security and he said it would cost to much on top of his insurance and I told him the Security would be worth more than the insurance if he got the right kind. He said oh yea , what kind and I told him I would have a guy stop by and talk to him. That Monday morning an off duty Metro Police officer stopped by and had a talk with my buddy. He said he would supply him with all the security he needed for $100.00 a night and it would cost him $200.00 a week plus the new signs. Big signs in all three of his front windows that read. ARMED SECURITY ON DUTY 2 NIGHTS A WEEK!! BAD GUYS PICK THE NIGHTS?? Well things we fine for about a month and a black van pulled onto the lot and 3 guys jumped out heading for cars. Well they picked the wrong night. The Metro police officer had all three in cuffs and the van was caught two miles away by a squad car that was coming to back the officer up that radioed in for back up and put out a description of the van leaving the scene. Them 4 young men from Kentucky just picked the wrong night. Signs work when you have good guys with guns backing them up. He was parked in the lot next door in his unmarked Squad car with smoked windows. When he climbed out he had his shotgun with him. My friend never had another issue with thieves and signs stayed up till he closed down 12 years later. The officer made sure it made the news without using any names but did give the location where the bad guys were arrested. My buddy said it was the best $700.00 he ever spent. The officer only worked 7 nights and he picked the nights before he caught them. Now let me also add that this was back when Metro Police officers could legally moonlight without getting in trouble for it.

I don't remember that being a responsible adult time in my life. Must have been a long time ago. My daughter says I never had a time of being one. My son said he remembers it well. Said it lasted almost a week. They still argue over when it was and they try and drag me into it and I keep telling them they are acting like children.....

Wait till your 70+ and you will wish you were 45 again every morning when you get out of bed................

I have a friend that is in real estate business here locally and he is telling anyone that might be looking to buy a new home to go now and get pre-approved for a mortage loan and make sure you keep it updated so when you find a place you want you can buy it on the spot before someone else buys it out from under you. He said right now here in Tennessee and Kentucky it's dog eat dog in their business.

I just got mine renewed back in May but old one didn't expire till August but it was my first renewal and knowing how things work, if I waited till last minute I would either forget to do it or they would screw it up so I will give them 2 months. My SIL got his lifetime and asked if I was going to get one and I said Nope!! He said Why not and I said because I don't have a lifetime left!!!!!

Even if you have a life time it has as expiration date!!!

yea, I was kind of surprised that I have a lady do most of the paper work to get me set up but still needed to complete a few things so went back the next day and the lady was off that day. I went over and sat down waiting for another person to get free and another lady came up to me and said Hi Mr. Richards. Is there something I can assist you with. I was caught a tad off guard that this lady called me by my name. I ask if Edie was working and she told me she was off and the new lady took care of the issues I had that day in about 20 minutes and at that point I was totally WB&T customer. I got an email from BOA today telling me that if I had anything outstanding and it was presented to the bank for payment they would re-open my account, return what ever was presented as insufficient Funds and charge me a $29.00 transaction fee. I laughed at it and thought yea I guess because I was stupid enough to do business with you for 18+ years I would be stupid enough to close an account with outstanding items not cleared at the time I closed it. Sorry BOA , but I am not that stupid............

We have a simliar issue at my SIL's house. I was concerned about moving out there and not having internet access so last time I went down there I took my broad band unit with me. Tommy plugged it into his lap top and it loaded onto computer and we went to all of my forums I hang out in and google and searched a few items and it worked flawlessly. So that solved my internet issue. Braod band works out there. My cell phones both work out there just fine. 1 cell in on AT&T and one is on Sprint. Now with that said I don't understand why but they can't get satelite to work at his house. He has had Dish and Direct both come out and try and get a satelite hookup and they cannot get it to work. He has to use an outdoor antenna just to get about 4 local channels and the only news network they can get on the antenna is News Channel 5. Thing is 1 mile down the road in either direction they can get satelite reception. I'm thinking that all both guys from both companies did was try is from mounting it on the house. My neighbor next to me now had Direct TV installed and they could not find a location on his house they could use so they mounted the small dish on a pole and ran the cable under ground about 35 feet to his house and it works fine..

I have a little story about my yard floods. I had some crackheads living in the apartment in front of my cottage and the police where getting ready to do a surprise raid on the apartment which does have front and rear entrances. They did not do their homework to well before doing the raid. If they had when the officers that were going to go around and watch the rear exit they would have known about my floods. They caught all the bad guys that came running out the back door but only because both LEO's and bad guys were lit up like a football field. The cops tripped the lights just about the time the bad guys exited the back door. It was easy for the police to see the bad guys but was just as easy for the bad guys to see the police. Had they came to me a day or so earlier and asked me to turn off the back yard and just have the back door to the apartment and the parking area of their vehicles I could have done that for them. I guess maybe they thought I would tip the bad guys off. Little did the police know, I wanted them gone as bad as they wanted to catch them............

Well I went and took the survey they sent me.Figured that could be the least I could do since they ask my views. Below was what I made in a couple reply sections that had. The question is above and the reply is below. Please share your feedback with Dan. The more detail, the better. My Time with your employee was adequate and he did all I requested of him. He closed all of my accounts for me. What additional information would you like to share with us? I am leaving BOA for several reasons and the main one is BOA's decision to ask all Firearms manufacturers that have been doing with BOA have been asked to take their banking business else where. Except you are willing to LOAN them money but you don't want their banking business. I am an American and I live by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. With a bank title such as Bank of America one would be led to believe your organization would also be loyal to the Constitution but evidently it is in name only in your case. Now with that said I have other reasons for leaving also. Service at your branch banks has declined and you no longer have full time tellers at your drive up windows where I did most of my banking due to the fact I am handicapped. Some times I would be in line up to 30 minutes waiting for service. You also decided that I no longer should receive free checks even though I am on a fixed income and handicapped and been a loyal customer of yours for at the time 15 years. With that said, I can deal with all the minor little issues but when you began turning your back on the Constitution and companies that are a part of it being a 2nd Amendment operated companies you also turned your back on me and my beliefs. I was not a customer to you. I was just a number!!!

Well I have them about 3 weeks before renewing mine but I was going to half to have a new picture made so I went to DMV and got mine done. In and Out in 25 minutes and got my new one in the mall about 10 days later. I didn't even consider a lifetime since I was getting ready to turn 70 anyway. I'm not expecting to be around when this one expires but with me stranger this have happened.

Folks here know I moved from BOA yesterday and went to Wilson Bank & Trust but to show you how on top of their game BOA is they sent me to emails yesterday. 1 was an account alert warning me that my account balance had dropped below $25 dollars. The other one was requesting I fill out a survey about how well I enjoyed my visit to the bank yesterday? I am going to not worry about the first one but I am going to do the survey I think...............
