  1. Evidently that bank does not appreciate having your sons business. Tell him to go to one of the bank officers and not a teller and tell him that if they don't allow him to deposit that check he will close all of his accounts and go to a new bank to do business. See if he gets any where. If not after he does get the check cashed I would go back to the bank and tell the same bank officer I would like to close all accounts. I won't let them bully me. I had an issue with BOA about 2 months ago as they try to bully me. I went to drive up with a savings withdrawal Slip to take $500.00 out of my savings account. She told me I would have to come inside. I parked and walked in side. Walked up to the teller and I was told that the maximum I could withdraw from my savings account was $300.00. I told her i didn't want $300.00 I want $500.00 like it said on the slip. She said she could not do it so I took a seat and waited for a bank officer to come and get me. Once O got in an office with one I told him what I wanted and he said it was a new rule of BOA that there was a maximum $300.00 amount that coud be with drawn from saving accounts. I said ok, then I want to close both of my accounts right now. His eyes got big and he said he didn't want to lose my business I said you are on the verge of it. He took my slip up to the counter and brought me back $500.00 in $100.00 bills as I requested. I thnaked him got up and walked out. I'm still looking for a locally owned bank to move my accounts to..............
  2. Sounds like the guy that got your money may have been the district attorneys brother in law..............JMHO Sorry for your loss Ray.
  3. Well I got my questions answered with out even asking it. I actually laid awake last night trying figure out why ethnicity was even mentioned in the discussions. I don't believe or cannot ever remember anyone here that has brought it up, not saying it has not been and I missed it. To me all members are equal and have just as much right to be here as the next person unless they prove they do not or cannot follow the site rules and then it is up to the owner or moderators to handle that situation. I honestly don't care if you are from another planet. If you enjoy shooting and you enjoy talking about Firearms or anything else pertaining to them all I can say is welcome to the site................JMHO
  4. I want to say I am sure glad to see all the folks here would have guns that belonged to grandfathers and fathers and they still have them. I still have the 30/30 Lever model 94 my grandfather gave me when I was 17 and just moved to the farm/ranch from Illinois with my parents. I didn't have a deer rifle because back then there was no deer season in Illinois so never needed one up there. The only reason I still have it was because I had loaned it to a close friend and it was at his house when they burglarized our home in 1988. We were staying at the hospital with my son that was in a coma and dying from a car accident so they knew we were not home. Small town so every one knew everyone elses business. We reported all the serial numbers of the 18 guns they got to Sheriffs office but not 1 has been located in 30 years. The only other gun I wish I could get back is my dead sons Winchester Pump 12 gauge I got him the previous year for Christmas. They could keep the rest of them for all I care but that one would be very special to me. Sorry for getting off subject.
  5. Well I know I am not smart enough to go very deep into this topic so I will tread lightly. I think that the Millennials are entitled to the same opportunities the Boomers had. I think that would only be fair. Thing is what I see is they are not and probably will never settle for what we boomers had or have. They want much much more. Thing I see is they want it but don't want to work for it. Like I said I am not going to get any deeper than that because my high school education expired and went obselete about 35 to 40 yeats ago.
  6. Glad you got it back. In 1988 our home was burglarized and they got 10 Long guns and 8 hand guns and I have never got any of mine back and don't expect to after this long.
  7. I had 1 of those when I was 12 and it was a 12 gauge and got it for Christmas. Had to send it back and they replaced it cause the frame cracked on both sides in front of trigger guard. It was a metal alloy of some type but new one they send me was steel.
  8. I thought it might be cool to start a thread for everyone to test their memory by answering a question. Can you remember the first gun you ever owned? New, Used, Hand me down, family heirloom or what ever but it had to be your gun. No toy guns allowed. Mine was a J.C Higgings 4.10 single shot bolt action and I got it for Christmas. Parents got it at Sears-Roebuck.
  9. I have always thought the Single action 6 was one of the greatest guns of all times and I still feel that way roday. I don't have a high end single 6 but I do have a plinker Rough rider 22lr Single 6 that I still enjoy shooting. Not a great gun but mine is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot.
  10. Neighbors fighting beginning last night and still going today!!!!!....................
  11. That and I think the shots made by those Navy Seals at night firing from one moving ship to a much smaller moving vessel ending the lives of 3 of the pirates and saving Captain Roberts also slowed down some of the pirates causing them to think twice about what could happen to them if they just happen to pick the wrong ship to go after................JMHO
  12. Back years ago I use to hunt the Cheatham WMA and it offered some great areas to hunt. I bagged quite a few deer while hunting it. Last year after not being down there for 20+ years I took a drive through the Reserve. Where I use to hunt now have houses built of them. That tells me that many of the leases of the land that made up the Cheatham WMA ended and the new generations that inherited the land sold it rather than re lease it back to the state. That means the reserve had gotten a lot smaller so don't know if it would be as good as it once was.
  13. There is no state own part of any ocean so once you are on a boat and away from any dock or launch site you are in neutral ocean waters. Once you reach the 12 mile boundary and go beyond that distance you are in International Waters which are somewhat controlled by the UN for what that is worth?? Inside the 12 mile boundary the United States Coast Guard is the law enforcement surrounding any and all coastal territories of the United States. The UN has given the United States Coast Guard the authority to enforce laws in International Waters in the event they are in persuit of any law breakers that took place in US controlled water and required the Coast Guard to chase their lawbreaker beyond the 12 mile boundary. Beyond the 12 mile boundaries your pretty much at the control of the boat captain and having the authority to enforce any rule of law on his water craft. If it were me I would check in with the boat owner/operator of the Charter prior to booking the charter to get what he authorizes and what he does not...........JMHO! You may want to check with other Charter Companies if they do not allow concealed carry and you want to carry...............JMHO
  14. Has anyone got any birds on their feeders???? I have been changing the food in my feeders every week but still don't have anything except that retarded woodpecker that has 1 feeder he will drink out of and then use the water to groom himself about every other day. He is fun to watch but I would like to have some Hummingbirds too.
  15. At the present time this works for me. If my eyes get worse I may need more help but right now this is great!!
  16. Yes I am using it right now and it is a big help. Thank you very much as it will help me till I can get my eye work done.
  17. I'm sorry for making things hard on folks. I know when I joined the site back however many years it is OS mentioned I was yelling and I explained to folks that I had to do that until I could get my eyes fixed and that was the last I ever heard from anyone about it. Well I have tried 4 different times to get my eyes repaired over the years and some other health issue would pop up preventing me from getting it done. I had plans for this past February but I think most folks know I had a heart attack and triple By Pass surgery in January and shot any hopes for February eye fix. I went back to the Eye Surgeon and he informed me that right now being on blood thinners while I'm recovering from the heart issue and he cannot do his surgery while I am on them. So I am in a catch 22 situation. I will refrain from using the larger bold print when making posts and sorry I have been a problem to folks with my posting style.
  18. Now get 1 more and have a Bakers Dozen........... Glad to see you back posting again. I know the pack keeps you busy.
  19. Well I have been around firearms since I was 6 so no paranoia here!
  20. I have that same feeling David. That is why I go to a little extreme to prevent it. I do have a few friends that are not as extreme as I am and they have actually had people ask them if they are a police officer or detective cause they are packing a gun. I often wonder if people are not asking to get shot. What happens if the guy they ask is a criminal getting ready to comit a crime or just committted one or the law is looking for them and someone is stupid enough to ask them about their firearm...........JMHO
  21. I read the entire article from the link and it is a powerful article that raises so many questions and answers so many questons more it was one of the most informative and interesting reads I have had in a long time. I know some folks may think I am crazy but a leftist with his intelligence that has written an article about guns and people who own them in such a favorable way that made so much sense, It makes me wonder being he lived iin New York if his death was really suicide or a coverup to shut him up. The article went against everything the radical anti 2nd Amendment Anti-Gun groups are for and made total sense!!...............JMHO
  22. In all honesty I didn't think much about printing 10 years ago but as I became more aware about it I actually went and bought a full length mirror and put it on the back of my bedroom door so I could see if I am printing when I go out these days. Like I said, when I am out in public the only one I want knowing I am packing is me..........JMHO
  23. I'm guessing Trump will keep the troops there because it is a two fold factor. It detours N. Korea knowing they are there and it annoy's China having them so close. They have a lot to do with how Trump can play his hand with both countries............JMHO
  24. I know I am a little old fashion when it comes to holsters but the one I use 99% of the time is a Tagua Made in Paraguay. It was one of the first holsters I bought many years ago and it still works today very well for me. I seldom if ever dress up so I am normally dressed casually. Blue Jeans, Cut off Blue jeans, T-shirt and if I am going out I throw a darkish dress type light shirt over the top and seldom button it. I have tried a few of the retention type holsters and IWB holsters and just ca't find anything that is comfortable for me. My Model 85 and Thunder both fit this holster very good and with the Thunder I carry 2 extra magazines on my left side in a cell phone case. It just works for me..........JMHO
  25. The day I was at my duaghters I had my double stack model 85 on me and it is not a small gun. It is a little harder to conceal than my Bersa Thunders but not to much with a little more effort...........JMHO
