  1. GT distributors is not actually in TN but the back of their building touches TN. They are by far the best to deal with in the Chattanooga area. They are willing to order something if they don't have it in stock. When they do order stuff it comes in really quick too. The only down side is you cant buy Glock, Springfield, or Sig from them. They are military or LE only on these items. You don't have to be active military to buy just as long as you can prove through ID or paperwork you were in the military. It also seems like most of the Class 3 dealers in TN as a whole are A$$es as well. I guess when you have the market on something you can treat people like crap?
  2. The only tool I bought was a multi-wrench thing for something like 20 bucks. DPMS and a bunch of other guys make them.
  3. So far i like the vortex. I only got to shoot 50 or so rounds the other day. I put the StrikeFire on and shot at a torso sized plinker about 75 yards out and hit it every time. I plan on fine tuning it Sun afternoon. This is the perfect AR for ya Pie.
  4. go to brownells.com they have videos showing how to put everything together. It makes the process really simple!
  5. I started an AR build with Christmas money and finally finished it last week! Spikes lower with custom color fill, Spikes upper, Whatever trigger group spikes uses, Tapco tan stock, ERGO tan pistol grip, Yankee hill machine barrel with diamond flutes, Yankee hill machine hand guard, low profile gas block, LE muzzle device from RRA, vortex strike fire red/green dot ( I really wanted an eotech but cant afford that right now) bolt carrier group from RRA and Charging handle from RRA. I originally orderd 5 to 7 parts from Del-ton then some of the parts were backordered wayyyyyyyyy before they even got to my order (ordered first week of march and if i had not canceled the order I would still be waiting) so I canceled the order and called RRA and within 10 days the parts were at my door. Well most of the parts, they left out the bolt carrier group! So I had to wait a long birthday weekend and not be able to shoot the gun. Tues came around and I got the bolt carrier group so off to the rifle club we went. it shoots awesone! here is the other side of the lower before i out it all together
  6. 1. Stoeger Cougar (Beretta) 2.Ruger P95 3.Bersa Thunder 9 50. S&W 9VE 1000000000. Taurus 24/4 Pro
  7. I have the Harris look a like from walmart and it works great on a 10/22. +1
  8. How new is your 10/22? Since there is still paint on the inside of the receiver im guessing fairly new or not shot a whole lot. I don't think my 10/22 has any paint left on the inside of the receiver but then again it has something like 14K rounds through it. I use the federal bulk pack of 550 from walmart and love them! I have only had a few jams here and there. Another thing is how often do you clean it? I used to be one of those who cleaned a gun after every trip to the range. Now I don't really clean my .22's that much they shoot better somewhat dirty.
  9. It is fine to ship a long gun in state by my mail/other carrier with out an FFL but a pistol requires an FFL no matter what.

    Glock vs Taurus

Glock and and taurus are not even in the same category! I has a taurus PT111 and it was garbage. I have a Glock and have no intentions of ever getting ride of it.
  11. I noticed a hand full of you mentioned that your .22's jammed up in the first 50 to 100 rounds. Don't let that discourage you on that pistol. Most .22 auto loaders are like that for the first bunch of rounds ( I know what's not a technical term. ) I like to put a bulk pack or brick through a .22 before complaining about jams. Also with bricks/bulk packs you are going to get a bad .22 occasionally. If you are shooting CCI stingers, etc.. that's a different story. I have a Beretta neos stainless with a 6 inch barrel and I love it. You cant go wrong with the single six I Like Pie showed above. I have shot his single six before and if I had it to do over again i might buy it over my neos. The Ruger mkII's are great if you can find one at a gun show or used. The MkIII is good but has some added goverment required safet stuff bla bla bla. The Ruger 22/45 is also good along with the buckmarks.
  12. Is there a bad opinion about HK usp's? I have never heard anything bad about any HK. 1K rounds is nothing its just getting warmed up. I would question it if it was 10,000 rounds. with ammo prices the way they are and non-existent it will last forever! Buy it!
  13. I called del-ton last week about my order. the web site said at the time of order 10 to 12 weeks behind now it says 12 to 16 but they told me they are still working on nov 08 orders! I am not sure if that is complete guns/ uppers or for parts too. I ordered just parts and originally they said 12 weeks. oh and my order was placed 6 to 8 weeks ago. So i guess i am in for a long wait. you may want to call them about the wait or go with some other company.
  14. a new barrel is almost the price of a new gun! just go buy a 870 synthetic with a 18" barrel and put on a knoxx adjustable stock and what ever else tactical cool stuff you want.
  15. Mavericks are made of foreign parts assembled in Texas. Here is a link to their site. It can also be found on the Mossberg site under firearms at the very bottom. They also sell mavericks at Academy sports Academy sells both bird and home defense while walmart only carries the bird gun. 88 Field I have heard they are good guns. I almost bought one but spend the money on something else. I like the fact that the safety is on the trigger housing vs the receiver. I have never cared for that feature on the Mossbergs. I had a plinkster until this year and it shot just as good as my tricked out 10/22 but without all the aftermarket stuff.
  16. Last time I was at GT's they had a few p3at's and the ruger version. $250 for the kel-tec and not too much more for the ruger.
  17. I had a yugo mauser till a few weeks ago. It was a great gun but I needed funds to finish a build. The only down side was soon after I bought it the surplus ammo started to dry up and got really expensive. I had purchased 2 thousand rounds and shot 1100+ with only 1 hickup that turned out to be my fault. I have not had a K31 or a mosin or even shot one but I have never really read anything negative about them.
  18. Sounds good to me. Some of the shops here in Chattanooga have G17's for anywhere from $529 to $569 and that's obviously with tax and background. The only deal I know of better than that is if you are LE/Military yo can get a new Glock from GT distributors here in Chatt for 399.00 and you are no where near Chatt so yes its a good price!
  19. I bought a used 92fs 5 years or so ago. The only problem I have ever had with it was the recoil spring started to give up and the extractor started to give up all at the same time. Something like $10.00 from Beretta for both parts. Now its shoots fine every time. Dont expect any problems like this anytime soon! Mine has had a ton of ammo through it!
  20. You actually have them in stock!? I guess I was one of the pissed off impatient "customers" B/C after 3 months of calling and waiting (for a standard nothing special lower) for you to get spikes lowers I gave up and had a buddy order it (the way I wanted it) I think I did talk you you once on the phone Joe. You were the only person from your store who did not give me the run around.
  21. I one from spikes a month or so ago. they are a great company to do business with. I had my lower done is all tan with an american flag etched on the mag well and they got it out really quick (in under a week!) I originally called hero gear they told me it would be a while and from the way they talked they were not interested in ordering a custom lower the way I wanted so I got a buddy here in Chattanooga that has his FFL to place the order.
  22. My permit expired last June so when I got the renewal in mid April I sent it off immediately. June came and went no permit so I called the HCP office and they sent me a letter next day saying it was ok for me to carry as long as I had the letter with me. This may or may not work for you as yours has already expired before you sent in your paper work. give them a call you never know.. Oh and my permit finally came back with 3 days left in July? So mid April-late July. When I first got my permit it took less than 5 weeks to get it back go figure!
  23. I would probably NOT shoot it. One of my buddies was faced with a similar decision ( He has so far chosen not to shoot his). A man at out church who was in WWII gave my buddy a m1 carbine that he was given on D+a few days on the beaches of Iwo Jima. Carbine is original build with a battle pack (2 magazines) one still full and the other had 3 or 4 rounds missing. The man from our church never fired the rifle so that last person to fire it was a marine probably on D-day.
  24. I like my guns too much to use wolf ammo. I don't think I have heard of anyone really liking wolf ammo.
  25. I went in there a few weeks ago and yea they seemed a bit over piced and I did not bother trying haggle with them. If you are in the Chattanooga area GT distributors is by far the way to go. GT's is in GA but they have a deal with a pawn shot across the state line that will do the transfer. The only bad thing about GT's is they cant sell Glock, Sig, or Springfield to the public. So next time I am looking for a Glock I may try and haggle with J and M
