Side Charging AR Billet Upper, Non Reciprocating & Forward Assist!
btq96r replied to Tooreal's topic in Show and Tell
I like the concept, the innovation, and how simple it looks to install and remove, but I wouldn't spend a dime over $50 for it. -
My Corporate response to MDA, if I ever start a corporation.
btq96r replied to K191145's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I was speaking hypothetically. I actually deleted my home address from the database the Democrats use to identify supporters and donors to keep off as many mailing lists as I can when I left the campaign I interned for. Besides, I get enough "send money now" direct mailings from the pro-gun orgs since they must share data, or buy it from gun sale websites I shop on. Between those, Comcast, AT&T, and all the mail I get for the previous four residents of my current residence, my mailman rarely brings something worthwhile anymore. -

I'd just write "Return to Sender" on anything I get from MDA. It's not worth the waste of time, effort or a stamp on them. -
Bushnell AR Optics 4.5-18x40mm BDC Reticle

I got my tracking number for the scope today, which was a pleasant surprise. With PSA, I was expecting to order on Black Friday and get it after Xmas. Glad others were able to take advantage of the deal. This place has given me so much, it feels good to provide something for others on here. -
It's aluminum we're seeing. I can feel the difference between the area done up and the smooth black. The engraver was inside a clock shop that does all kinds of engravings for watches, trophies, plaques, ect...he just doubles as a firearms engraver. I just want to keep it legal, and not have any glaring out parts aside from the pictograms. I'm going to get a bottle of the alumablack and give it a go. Thanks for all the sage counsel.

It was laser engraved. I'm not upset with the quality of the lettering, but I for sure wanted to have it faded with a quick color job. I was going to get a small bottle of Testers model paint, that's what I used for the pictograms, but you think the stuff you linked would be better? If I can't fix it, I might just travel to Oak Ridge and have you do it right if you can give me a quick enough turnaround. You're the only one I've seen that has a standard I can accept.

I finally got my SBR lower engraved and I'm not happy. I took it to Andrew's Tactical Firearms in Clarksville since I was up there for the holiday. Only after the engraving was I told that the markings aren't deep enough for me to paint over and still be visible to the eye like the manufacturer's markings. To quote Andrew, "I guess I should have mentioned that." $25 later, my lower looks like ass (to me) and, at a minimum, at least part of it will need to be repainted. It technically meets the legal requirements since .003" is just about anything that scratches the surface, but I don't have what I want. My fault for not being my regular over managing, dickheaded self. I am giving it the official "BTQ  " for SBR purposes. However, to be fair, I'll let others judge for themselves. After looking at my pic if it's something you can live with for your SBR, I will say it was affordable and done inside of 10 minutes from start to finish since I was the only one in the store. I also think that for commemorative jobs, the work style would look nice, but not for my SBR.

Seafood of any type. It's all disgusting to me.

Make sure you know how much a service call is going to cost you. If you can't prove it's something that they failed to deliver, you'll be on the hook for the technician coming out. Even if they are fixing something that is their fault, I can still see them putting it into your next bill.

Do you have proof of and any convictions on those charges?

Happy Thanksgiving, all. I hope it's a great day for everybody. When you're around the table with your family and friends, take a moment to think about the troops who are had their Thanksgiving served to them from a mermite that arrived via truck or helicopter. They're standing watch so we can get fat back here at home.

Saw this while doing some other shopping online. Looks good enough. I saw the Bushnell model I ordered specifically addressed in the questions and reviews. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B5F02ZW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Again, gents, thanks again for all the input. Such a wealth of knowledge here. -

Well, I just ordered it. Hard to resist at that price. Real life product reviews in under an hour. This place rocks. Next step is to look for something to mount it with. -

What did you get to mount it? -
This seems like a good black Friday deal from PSA, but I have no experience with scopes beyond an ACOG. I trust you guys more than other online reviews...do you think this scope is worth the cost and reliable? http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/4-5-18x40-bdc-reticle-target-turrets-sf-matte-blk.html I plan to mount a scope onto a 16" AR so I have a long reach gun to compliment my SBR, but I want to keep it affordable (under $200).

That was from the August protests after the incident. No idea why it's being re-posted as new info. I would imagine that something similar could be happening, though. Regardless, it's a perfect case example of what the 2nd Amendment does to protect individual rights.

Sounds like the Israeli method in the West Bank. They can always use a good dozer operator if you've got the time. :P

How do you place your hand when working the action? Palm up, down? Which fingers? Just trying to get a feel for what is comfortable that close in. -
The Patriot Act...hope you're joking. We need a lot less of that beacon of anti-freedom. I'm surprised nobody in the government has tried to coral them into a "free speech zone." Legally, they are in the wrong for being out on the highway, but the place, and the timing was to get them on the news for free media to promote their cause. The way government tires to regulate dissent through things like the Patriot Act and local laws is shameful at times. As long as they stay peaceful, I think it's in the public interest to let them go on. Someday that might be us out there protesting gun control laws or something else we would get worked up over.

Where do you mount your red dot on the rail? (AR)
btq96r replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I like to have one rail slot visible between the backup sights and the rear of the red dot. The exact placing differs between an Aimpoint and an EOTech, but the base of the sight comes out to being slightly behind the mag well. It works well for me, but I'm not so fixated that I'll say somebody else is wrong for doing it another way if they can shoot well enough. -

The handle looks higher than I thought. Let me know how much skin you scrape off your left index finger against the scope mounts while working the action. -
Was it the BoA parking lot that turns onto E.Main St.? Drivers never slow down after that turn where the parked cars blind them to whats around the corner. Jaywalking or not, if it was me and that happened, I'd of been filming it as they drove away and given the link to the video to the police. If your knee is feeling bad, I'd see a doctor to find out now if there is damage before you could aggravate any possible injury.

New Twist in the SIG Brace Debate

Same difference. The 4th floor doesn't know what the 6th floor is doing, and you can get an opinion from either one at any time.
