  1. Unless I missed something, I haven't read anything that said or implied that it was the doctor's call. A doctor raising a possible issue for the family to consider is not out of line, IMHO.
  2. My house in Lavergne is 1,633 sqft and is currently valued below what I paid for it at $135,000. An apartment in San Francisco of the same square footage in 2010 was going for $3,000,000 and they bragged about it! Screw these reports!
  3. I hope you're talking about your knife. :)
  4. If you define it then you must answer to it, and the politicians don't ever want to answer to anything. By keeping it subjective then they can make you believe what they want. "The middle class is shrinking!" Well, duh, it's growing too. It's similar to arguing what the definition of the word "is" is.
  5. Have they slipped in weaker springs in the mix as well? Some have mentioned that theirs almost snaps out of their hands, but mine is no faster than the SOG Elite II that I have.
  6. It's been my experience that judges "interpret" the laws as they see fit even to the point of making their own versions of it. They are only revenue generators after all.
  7. But isn't the premise behind the legal system not only that one is innocent before PROVEN guilty, but also to take extraordinary measures to prevent the conviction of the innocent? I forget the saying, but it was something like 1,000 should go free before an innocent is wrongly convicted. I used to be a big proponent of the death penalty, but with today's science demonstrating how many inncoents are wrongly convicted it makes me wonder how many innocents have been put to death by mistake.
  8. Yep, because the lawyers want to go after the deep pockets where they know they'll get paid. IIRC, an officer can be personally held responsible for part of the judgement, but it's pretty well established that you'll collect very little of it.
  9. I don't blame ANYONE for paying what they can for a defense. My issue is not with them but with the legal system. It's a shame that people who are wrongly accused, (whether intentionally or not), have to be financially ruined to prove their innocence. If they fed/state/county/city had to compensate someone who's found not guilty there would be a heck of a lot of prosecutors exercising better judgement.
  10. Justice is supposed to be blind. Have you ever known someone to be falsely accused? I have, then there's those that I didn't know like those involved in the "Duke Rape Case" a few years ago, or the numerous "criminals" that have been cleared by DNA testing after spending decades in jail. If you want a justice system then the state should prosecute misconduct with felonious penalties and pay the legal fees of those found not guilty. Judges can become lawyers but lawyers cannot become judges. Bring back a true circuit judge who isn't beholding to a Mayor or city council.   When you've spent time as a LEO watching things like your judge, (who was also a private practice lawyer), representing his own client in his own court you become a bit cynical of the legal system.
  11. Never had this problem, but why not poisoned field corn? No burying them there since they die somewhere else.
  12. I guess in some ways I could be rightfully accused of that.
  13. Well, problem solved. :)
  14. Trust me I know: my dad was a lefty too.   Market share would be roughly 10%, and that's a pretty significant percentage. My point is that reversing a CAD design for CNC machining wouldn't seem to be that big of a deal to throw away 10% market share.
  15. We don't have a justice system; we have a legal system, and it's the best in the world.   What's wrong with that picture? :wall:
  16. One would think that in today's CNC world that it wouldn't be too much problem with the design being flipped for a southpaw.
  17. Welcome!
  18. No worries, I was kind of answering Orient Express' conclusion jumping via your post. Sorry that wasn't clear. :(
  19. Yes, but the criminals don't have any money for the lawyers to go after, and they won't be earning any either.
  20. Update: I called CMMG and explained the situation. Tech support is sending me a new firing pin and made no comments on the situation.
  21. For the record, my plan is to call CMMG this morning when I can get a free moment at work - not screwing around with a store that's 40 miles away and, (from personal experience), been of no help resolving issues - and letting CMMG fix the problem.   Also for the record, the first rifle was shot within a week of purchase and reported to Outpost Armory which elicited the response of "Not our problem. Send it to the factory."
  22. Yeah, I don't hold the store accountable for a manufacturer's product, but in this case I don't expect them to send it in to CMMG for me either based on my previous experience with them. What I do expect is that when I lay out $1,000 for a piece of equipment it should be functional as in test fired before leaving the factory. Clearly, this weapon was not.
  23. No buyer's remorse here and neither was my wife unhappy. She was with me when I purchased it after all. She and I make major purchase decisions together.
  24. I think that you should work on your reading comprehension skills before calling someone else's actions "stupid" because nowhere did I say that I thought the store was responsible for the manufacturer's crappy product.
